OMG! I was just visiting another thread and a poster mentioned that the thread is nearing the maximum 250 page mark. Then I came over here and :scared1:....so are we! At the rate this thread is going, we have another 2 or 3 days max.

Tikiman 's site is gone....we MUST have this thread continue. Is Seaspray or someone else up for the challenge? I am way too computer dumb to copy all the original info and links to start this thread over. Anyone?????

Cana't wait to go!!!! This is my last month as a 49 year old so want to have a nice birthday celebration at California Grill which I LOVE!!! Won't be there for my actual birthday but 2 weeks before is good enough for me!!:thumbsup2

Congratulations. That is AWESOME!!

Hi guys! I'm still looking at all of the longhouses and trying to figure out which one might be the best for us. I was thinking Fiji because I would love to be by the water (we have a garden view booked), but then I read on Tikiman's sight that it is a high traffic area and can be noisy. Both DD and I are light sleepers and might prefer a quieter area, but I don't want to be too far from the action either. Any suggestions?

Just booked a September stay at the Poly. Looking forward to our stay and as this will be our first stay there and we are looking for any tips or advice that would add to our experience.

Hi everyone!!

I am dreaming about tonga toast. YUM!! I cannot wait to have some in October. It seems so far off, but considering it was once 18 months, it seems to be moving along. I am looking forward to introducing the Poly to my parents this time around.

Love the thread!! Happy planning!:thumbsup2

Just booked 3 nights at the Poly at the end of April...last minute trip. We decided to vist WDW since we were already going to be in Florida that week. We have been to the Poly several times and I always love coming back. Hubby and I had our honeymoon at the Poly back in 1979 and I still have the receipt for the room.....hold your breath.....$65.00 per night for a lagoon view room!!! I can't believe the prices now!!! Hubby and I even rode out Hurricane Jeanne in the Poly back in 2004 when our DCL cruise was delayed a few days due to the cruise. I knew I would be safe at WDW!!!

Thank you Terry for this great thread.....have not seen you on the cruise board in awhile!!! Looks like I have a lot of reading to do!!!

MJ

Congratulations to all of you. mmouse, dear friends of ours honeymooned at the Polynesian in the 70s too. What special memories you must have.

The only time there should be heavy foot traffic by Fiji is for the Luau. Even then, it is to the side. During the night hours, I can't imagine anything keeping you awake. Or could Steve have been talking about boat traffic on the marina side of Fiji? That would only be during daylight hours.

I hope all is well with SeaSpray.:grouphug:

Here's my ;) lazy trip report:

So after a little family meeting tonight we decided to use our FD in the follow manner (we are styaing club level, so it is like food gone wild vacation)

CRT breakfast (2)
Spirit of Aloha (2) DD and DH really was to try this. Since it is our third trip and free dining, how can you not do it??

Dinner at Kona (1) My fav
Lunch at LeCellier (1) DH Fav
Brekfast at Ohana with Lilo and Stich (1) DD fav

We have done a lot with the dining plan our last two trip and dd and dh really want to steer way from being tied up with an ADR schedule. I just go with the flow. As long as I don'y have to cook and clean for an entire week, I am east to please!

So now I am waiting to get an idea of the schedule and then hopefully can pull this plan together.

:thumbsup2 Thanks for posting the pics DearDaisyinDurham!

Thanks!!! It will be even more special as two of our three kids will be there as well. Our DD's 21 and 25 will also be there at the same time with their friends. They know my addiction to WDW (40 plus times) and DCL (17 times) so they are very excited that we will all be there at the same time....now if I could just convince our son to join us!!!

Love your pics...gets me even more excited to be going back to the Poly....I have such fantastic memories from there over the years.

I also love your screen name.....reminds me of our special "Daisy", our 12 year old lab that we just had to put down 2 weeks ago....this trip is also to get my mind off that whole drama.....nothing like the mouse to cheer up the spirit!!!

DearDaisyinDurham, great pictures and report. Thanks for sharing.:surfweb:

We just returned from the World, and though we stayed at WL, we visited the Poly for breakfast and lunch at Kona. We always enjoy eating there, the mac nut pancakes were great, as usual! And the resort is just beautiful, we loved walking around and looking at all the lush landscaping.

Best wishes to everyone heading to the Poly soon! You'll have a wonderful stay, I'm sure!:goodvibes

we arrive 1 day before you - we have a 9 year old and 13 year old DD - SEE YOU AT THE POOL:

Great! Another DIS Board Buddy with us!

I think that makes 5 of us from this board at the Poly around the same time!:)
:thumbsup2

Okay give me brief discriptions of all of you who I might see you all at the resort. I will be there with DH, DD 10, and mother in law. :hippie: I can't wait it's will be like seeing long lost family members! :woohoo: Only 10 More Days!

We are all blonde. DH and I are 40- he is tall and thin, nearly a crew cut; I am short and not skinny, but not too Pooh-ish-- will NOT be in a suit, but near the pool and 9 of 10 days in a Life Is Good shirt ;) watching DD's 14 (tall, slim with white Fox Racing Board shorts and long blond hair) and DD 8 with below the ear bobbed hair. I can't wait to see if we can figure it out. I think Kaffinito will make it easy with the LGMH hat!

I'll be there with DH & DD 12. I think we're arriving last, since we'll be at AKL for a few days before we go to the Poly. I can't wait either -- we've got 8 more days to go!

Can't wait to look for you all too!

Our fave is Tahiti. It is off to the end near the TTC. So it is convenient to get to Epcot. It is quiet due to hardly any foot traffic. The walk to the GCH isn't bad at all. Not when you consider all the walking required in the parks!

Now I'm worried that if I go swimming in the pool I'll come back and one of you will have my chaise!

Maybe it will be one of us :lmao: Dumb question, since I haven't been paying attention (obviously...), but are you the mom? or the dad?
