No, no! I have had sushi there once or twice and LOVED it! Behold my platter from last summer's trip :teeth: including shrimp tempura roll with an orange citrus sauce and what looks like a California roll.

I agree!

I'm so happy for you! Your family is going to fall in love with the Polynesian. Talk about warm, friendly, beautiful, fun! It's awesome :cool1: We often go to WDW in late July/early August and it's great. It's hot and humid where we live so that's not really an issue for us either. The crowds won't be as concentrated as at holidays (Easter, Christmas, etc.) but it will be busy. Not mobbed though. You're going to have a great time on the beach and in the pools... perfect time for a Polynesian vacation :cloud9: Ask away! There are so many great people who post here.

Thanks Johnsonet, that picture put a big smile on my face. We always go to CG for dinner at fireworks 1 time per trip as our "celebration" dinner. We love that restaurant. To us it is the "best" restaurant at Disney. I don't know why, it just is. There is nothing like a great meal, great service and watching the fireworks from the skydeck! Disney magic!

Y'all are making my mouth water. This is my favorite place to eat sushi. I ate there this month at the sushi bar. It makes all other sushi takes like it came from 7-11.

That's awesome! I think CG is the best too (along w/ Jiko ;) ) Do you like the Banana Butterscotch Buzz?? I did!

Hey FeeFee ~ How do you go about eating at the sushi bar? I've wondered about this. Do you make a regular ADR or can you walk up??

Sorry to be so off-topic  Let me try and make up for it w/ some Tonga Toast

Alright, weird question.

Anyone have a copy of the room service menu?

We're debating if we want to get it one night on our honeymoon, but only if the food sounds good, and of course, if the desserts are good!

I didn't think to copy/steal ;) the In-Room Dining Menu last week, but here is a link to a recent list http://allears.net/menu/men_polr.htm

We ate at Kona 3 times for dinner last week and it was delicious. I'm sure you can order anything you'd like from there. If you have dinner there one night and have something you love, you might re-order it later in your trip thru Room Service. The desserts are nice. During our trip, b/w DSIL, DNieces, DD and me we tried the Kiki Tart (coconut cream), Kona's version of Chocolate Lava Cake, White choc. cheesecake and Kona Cone or whatever it's now called. I had at least one bite of everything but the Cone and they were all were pretty good. Choc. cake and white Cheesecake were best. I kept wanting to try the chocolate fondue w/ fruit but didn't (server discouraged it the first night so I was hesitant...)
Good luck!

Well, in two weeks we can post our own! :goodvibes

True, true. Just checked the crowd calendar and our dates have gone up from 7-9s to 9-10s!:scared1: I'm getting really nervous about that, but looking at the Poly photos calms me down a bit. I hope it's going to be relaxing at the Poly...:cloud9:

Thanks, BCV23!

I went looking for this thread and had a hard time finding it! So I had to help it back to page 1.:)

A question for all the Poly experts... there used to be a website (not DIS or Disney) that someone had that had everything Poly, including photos of each area of the resort, etc. etc. For the life of me I can't remember the link... anyone think they know what I'm talking about? If so please PM me.

Thanks!

To get there, I just google "tikiman polynesian". It takes you right there.:)

Yikes! 9-10's! That's going to be crazy! I think I got spoiled by going just before Labor Day, I'm not used to large crowds.

The Poly should be fairly relaxing though - during the days when everyone else is at the parks the pool should be very soothing. :beach:

:thumbsup2 I really hope that is true. We're planning to spend our afternoons out by the pool most days. But I dont like to be in crowds, and the #10 really scares me...I really hope it's wrong, but I dont think it is.

I know a TA near us who's been swamped the last few weeks booking trips to WDW for Easter. And she's never booked lots of trips there before now (it's a long way from here). I guess the news about the deals really is increasing attendance. The TA is shocked since she thought she wouldn't have much work to do with the economy the way it is...

30 degrees and snowing here in Kansas--The pictures of the POLY are helping to warm me up.

My DH and I are staying at the Poly for the first time 8/16-8/20. I booked the free dining deal yesterday. I've always wanted to stay there and just decided to go for it. Our 25th anniversary is 8/4, so we'll be celebrating a few weeks later.

So maybe that is where the few of us here that will be at the Poly together will meet! Unless the pool is so crowded in the afternoon due to the crowds in the parks :lmao: I am so excited!!! Only 13 days until we head down!
