Is the tiki torch lighting at the same time every night, or does it move with the seasons?

Does anyone know when it is during April?

Thanks in advance!:)

It is held at the same time each night around 6pm. If you're in the GCH around 5:45-ish on, you'll hear the conch shell being blown to inform everyone the torch lighting ceremony is about to begin. The last time I was there for an April visit, the time was the same. :thumbsup2

Hi, we're also wondering for those who've been recently, were there children's activities? TIA! :goodvibes

In December, they had children's activities in the Keki Corner in the GCH and also in the Neverland Club from 1pm - 4pm. My DD liked to make the leis while watching TV in the Keki Corner. She didn't do the activities in the Neverland Club because she was there in the evenings.

Hope that helps! :thumbsup2

Have any of you Poly experts ordered "special surprise" from in-room dining? I have read the many post about cakes but, would like to have a birthday cake dilivered to our room. We will be at the SOA luau on the actual b'day.

Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Can anyone who has been to the Poly recently tell me what make shampoo and conditioner they provide for the guests? Leaving in 2 weeks and trying to make a packing list, don't want to bring shampoo and cont if I don't have to. Thanks.

Thanks for the info! I'm hoping we can catch it one evening before we go out to the parks for our "night touring". :)

They have H2O products! They are wonderful!:)

Oh that's so great! They have them on their cruise ships but didn't remember what they had at the resorts. Thanks for the quick reply.

My DD and DNiece painted gorgeous tiki masks last Spring Break and I saw that they were still doing this in July... I'm hoping to paint one myself next month! ;) In late July they also had a Make-your-own-kite craft, lots of pool games and more :wizard: You'll be given a list of the recreation activities when you arrive. I'm going soon and will report back on what's going on! My DD(12) and DNieces (10 and 6) are sure to have a blast...

Thanks for such a great thread! I'm checking in to the Poly for the first time on Sunday! Can't wait! :goodvibes
Awesome! Have a wonderful time :cloud9:

I don't think I've ever ordered anything while at the Poly but you may definitely order things through Private Dining. You'll have a menu in your room and at the back it will have Hospitalily/Treats items like chocolate-covered strawberries, chocolate Polynesian postcard, etc. :thumbsup2

do you know if theres a menu for private dining anywhere, id love to price out some special surprises for DBF. how do you order PD? do you call from your room? or leave your list or bring it to the front desk?

Hi. I'm new to this thread; we just made ressies for the Poly (first time!) for spring break of 2010...nothing like planning ahead. Anyway, thought I read on the Tiki guy's site that the Torch Lighting was discontinued on 13 December. Was that just a temporary thing? I know some of you have been since then, so maybe you can confirm whether or not it is still going on. Thanks.

It was there during the week of Feb. 7 - 14, 2009. Here are some photos I took on 2/14/09.

Hey. I think SeaSpray has one at the beginning of this thread. I always go to allearsnet for menus but their info on Poly's PD does not currently include the hospitality items... I'll look around~
Yes, I would just call from the room the PD :thumbsup2

You're welcome. You're going to LOVE the Polynesian :wizard:

On this very rainy, gloomy day in Chicago I have a very serious case of the Poly blues...

If someone going soon whats to bring me in a suitcase, I'll pay the extra baggage fee.... :worship:

Well, we're driving so I won't charge you baggage fee... ;)

The Resort Photo of the Day thread might cheer you up - or make you feel even more blue :guilty: At least you know you're going back eventually!!

CleveRocks: Thanks for photos. Great to know it is still there. I was very much looking forward to it.
