Am I correct in remembering that someone said that the Poly was getting new bedding a few weeks ago? If I'm right about reading this, does anyone know if it's been completed and what it's like now?

We're staying at AKL and Poly for our trip, too!

Have you stayed at either before? Which one are you staying at 1st?

We are staying at the Poly 1st with the DXDDP. Lots of restaurants we want to try or try again. Then, we are going to AKL with no plans. I wish summer would hurry up and get here!

The Poly has new linens. They got them sometime last year. 250 thread count to be exact. And they feel absolutely heavenly after a long day at the parks.

I thought the bedding was already done when they completed the refurbs. Got me interested...

The beadspreads were new for the renovation but the 250 thread count sheets and upgraded towels weren't. Those were done starting in late summer/early fall of last year.

The only thing that was upgraded involving bedding was the pillows

Poly now offers the Luxury pillows ( From disney resort collection )

Sorry if this may have been asked before, but is there a hot tub @ poly? I remember staying there about 5 years ago & not being able to find it.

Sorry, no. It's one and only *slight* downfall. All the wonderful things more than make up for it though, in my eyes, and trust me, I'm a hot tub lover!! I haven't traveled there in the winter though, I might miss it then.

We have found faxing a polite request the week of our visit (not before, they don't set room assignments very far out at all). This has been successful at receiving very nice rooms.

In May 2007 the Poly introduced the Spring Global Wamsutta collection for their linens and towels.



Speaking of linens, did you see the Disney Resort bedding at JCPenney? They even have one inspired by our beloved Polynesian!.....

This is my first stay at Poly.. How long to get the GF? I assume you just jump on the monorail? Are the hot tubs close to monorail?

Is the tiki torch lighting at the same time every night, or does it move with the seasons?
Does anyone know when it is during April?

thought I read on the Tiki guy's site that the Torch Lighting was discontinued on 13 December. Was that just a temporary thing? I know some of you have been since then, so maybe you can confirm whether or not it is still going on. Thanks.

The Torch Lighting Ceremony is back and is performed Tuesday - Saturday at sunset (approx 6pm).
In early December we missed it because sunset was a bit earlier (5:30pm).
