On this very rainy, gloomy day in Chicago I have a very serious case of the Poly blues...

Ugh! I hear ya. I am a little north of you in Wisconsin and it has been raining since around 5am here....AND I have a hangover. Unfortunately, I have family coming over at 3pm so I can't go back to bed. I have to clean up around the house. My bright spot is looking at my laptop as I have one of CleveRocks pictures from the Poly beach view in front of Tahiti as my wallpaper. I am dreaming of our upcoming vacation. Oh PLEASE let Apr 23 get here FAST!

I am so jealous of everyone on vacation right now. sigh.

Hi. I'm new to this thread; we just made ressies for the Poly (first time!) for spring break of 2010...nothing like planning ahead. Anyway, thought I read on the Tiki guy's site that the Torch Lighting was discontinued on 13 December. Was that just a temporary thing? I know some of you have been since then, so maybe you can confirm whether or not it is still going on. Thanks.

Hi Everyone,

I am also new to this thread. We are planning our next trip for April/May 2010 at the Poly. But when I went to a travel agent to make reservations I was told that I should wait until Aug/09 when the 2010 prices come out. Should I wait or make my own reservations?

First of all, welcome!:welcome:

Right now, the only thing that you or your TA can book for next spring is a room-only reservation. We did this last year for this April.

I booked it because I really wanted specific dates in specific resorts and room categories and I knew that if I waited, I might not get exactly what I wanted. If your dates and choices are not flexible, then I recommend booking a room-only as soon as you know what you want. When the packages and prices come out in August, you can modify your reservation if you want to.

If you are flexible, then you can probably wait until August to book. With the economy the way it is, I feel like it's easier to get a room even during the busy season. :)

We will be staying at the Poly for the first time  (thank you WDW for the 4/3 deal ;)). We will be there June 3-10th, and have requested to stay in the Tokelau Longhouse upper floor. My second choice would be the Tahiti Longhouse. For the Poly experts; what do you think our chances are of getting our requests during this time of year?

I requested the same thing last August, and got it.

I'm hoping for the same luck this August.

You're going to LOVE the Poly!!!

Thank you Alice. It has been our dream to stay at the Poly, and now it is coming true. :worship:

Thanks for giving me some ideas, I really appreciate it.
We are flexible to a certain point, we are looking to go late April/early May so I may wait until August to book. We would really like to stay in a room that gives us a MK view, so I may book the room only because I'm concerned that these rooms go fast. Have you ever stayed in a MK view room?

Thanks again for all your help.:)

We' haven't stayed at the Poly before. April will be our first time.

I've had castle views a couple of times from the GF and it's so nice to see the castle and the fireworks from our room.

I agree that if you really want a TPV room at the Poly that it's probably a good idea to book it early, just to make sure that you'll get it.:)

We received both our room and building requests when we went!

My First stay at the Poly is only 6 months away and I can't wait I do not know what kind of room we will have since we booked the 7night land and sea package and it doesn't speacify what kind of room you want but I am thinking of just requesting to be in Tahiti, Hawaii, or Tokelau I knOW hawaii is the club level but i am hoping that they may upgrade us since it is our honeymoon but as long as i am at the poly i guess any room will be great.

We will be coming in right after you leave! We will have our 1st visit to the Poly on 6/13 - 20th. Then, we will be going to AKL from the 20th - 23rd. We are so excited!

We have found faxing a polite request the week of our visit (not before, they don't set room assignments very far out at all). This has been successful at receiving very nice rooms.
