Thanks, MsStinkerBelle! :thumbsup2
You must have visited the Poly alot. This will be my first visist. The pool looks awesome and the evening fireworks on the beach is another must do. Do you have any other suggestions of things that we could do on our first day? I don't really want to use a park day since it will be so late when we arrive. TIA!!

If you are looking to stay close to the resort on your first afternoon/evening, you should take a leisurely stroll thru the Poly and over to the GF. The GF has beautiful gardens and you can hang out in the main lobby listening to the band, get a drink, and then stroll back to the Poly. I would find 2 great beach loungers at dusk(or after dinner at Kona)and pull them over to be more...secluded, grab your favoite beverage from the pool bar, and spend some quality time gazing at the castle and watching the EWP and fireworks over the lagoon.

We're checking into the Poly on Sunday:goodvibes , and I have a question for all you experts! We're staying at an offsite hotel Saturday night to recuperate from travel and arrive on property fully charged and ready to go. I want to make it to the MK before the park opening ceremony Sunday morning, because DS4 is a train fanatic and it will make his whole day. What time should we arrive at the Poly for check-in if MK opens at 9am? (Don't worry, we're aware that the room won't be ready that early, so we'll just have them store our luggage)

Checkin will be quite quick that early in the am. If that's all you're doing, you could probably get there as late as 8:30.

But since opening is so important for your little boy, I'd probably aim for 8 or 8:15.

Have fun!

You're welcome! :goodvibes I've stayed at the Poly twice (December will be my 3rd stay) but I've visited there when I wasn't staying at the resort. First visits are really magical.

I really can't add much to what Grace&Carolinesmom said. :goodvibes I also like to spend some time in the pool and watch the fireworks from the MK. Another good idea is to also check out the GCH (Grand Ceremonial House) and the torch lighting ceremony. :thumbsup2

We are checking in this weekend. I never received a letter from the Poly welcoming us and was wondering what was up with that? We had booked 2 nights at CBR, but canceled for the Swan, and CBR still sent us a welcome letter. I am curious to hear if others have received one from the Poly.

We're staying at the Poly in May and I received my welcome letter today. I think it is a new thing they are doing for new reservations.

We received a welcome letter for our next Polynesian stay and usually receive one.

can you only refill the mugs at the resort or can you use them at the parks? i remember my Stepmom telling me somthing about the mugs but i can't remember exactly what she said.

Thank You Very Much we are really looking forward to staying at the Poly i have stayed at POFQ, GF, and FWCG and i have always wanted to stay at teh poly and since we are doing the land and sea package we had a list of hotels to choose from and i was so HAPPY that the Poly was on the list I can't wait to go.:cool1: I wish we could get club level but i doubt that will happen. I was going to ask to stay in the tahiti building is that one a good choice? i would prefer Hawaii but i know it is only club level.

We've never received a welcome letter from any resort. :sad2:

I guess we are not as special as you. ;) :rolleyes1

Hi John's Mom!:wave2:

LOL. Well, I'm pretty sure we've not received one for our AKL stays either. Nor DVC stays. Does that help?

It's fun to get but has nothing you don't already know.;) I do like getting a new map...'cause I love maps!

I am leaving for the Poly on the 7th and we never received a welcome letter either. We booked almost a yr ago, and have never received anything from the Poly.

I am so excited DH, 2 DS (will be 3 and 2 at time of trip) and I are going to Poly garden view concierge level 9/09. I can't wait! I haven't been to the poly since '92! I'll finally be home!
