There is no wi-fi in the Poly, right?? My husband is debating bringing the laptop.

no Wi-Fi... but they do have hi-speed internet access for a fee.

We leave our laptop at home. $9.95 a day for internet access isn't worth it.
Especially when it's free when we go to Lake George!

We got roped into going to the DVC tour and are now considering buying into DVC. If any of you are DVC members, is it worth it? I would love to take a couple of days and stay at the Poly via Concierge! I want to go back so bad! I got the Post-Poly blues BAD!

We are DVC members, and YES, it is so worth it!! The one downside is that they don't have a Polynesian DVC resort...I would buy that in a heartbeat. We're finally staying at the Poly this April for one night before our DVC portion of the trip...I am SO excited!!! Please pm me with any DVC questions, I would be more than happy to answer them for you.

Does Poly always offer bounce backs? Does anyone know the dates that will be offered for 2009?

It does offer bouncebacks, but I dont think any info about 2009 has been released yet.

You would have to go to a business center on property. The closest one to the Poly is at the convention center located next door at the GF. Just a quick walk or monorail ride

But I was actually simply standing up for someone whom I felt was being bullied and I was very straightforward and civil about it.

If that was your motive than fine but I don't see how you can think someone is being bullied from one question that actually pertains to that thread.
Also it sure didn't come across that way especially when your post here seemed holier than thou.

In any event i now know you were being straightforward and you know he wasn't being bullied so all is well.


In other Poly news we had some issues at our stay last month that I didn't feel the need to bring up here.
I mention this now because someone contacted me to discuss all the problems.
this is a good sign that they care not only about thier guests but about weeding out the bad apples.

Internet use is $10 for 15 minutes, or $40 for an hour.

It's much cheaper to use a laptop from the room ($9.95 for 24 hours of use), although if packing is an issue it can always wait until you get home (much as we want to see the pictures as soon as you take them ).

I would love to post pics for everybody here but as I am actually only there for 6 nights, and we have a pretty full schedule this time so I may not have a lot of time. I do promise to take lots of notes before bedtime each night so I can come home and put together a great trip report!! Will you all forgive me?!

Someone asked if everyone on this thread (giong to Poly) is super rich...haha we are FAR from rich let alone super rich! But how are we affording it? Well for one thing we do not take "big" trips like this each year. We tend to go to our timeshare at beach close to home most of the time but every 3-4 yrs we take a BIG trip....such as this. Our beach trip requires no airfare, rental car, etc. In addition, we save up for it and plan WAY in advance....FAR from super rich here. If we went yearly we'd be at Pop Century!

About taking the laptop, check your airline's baggage policy for carry-ons. We usually fly USAir and can take a personal item, such as a purse, laptop, briefcase, or diaper bag in addition to a carry-on bag. That's how we take our laptop and, for now at least, it doesn't cost us anything extra.

You probably know, and it's not close to Poly but i thought i would mention that you can use the internet for free at DisneyQuest in DTD.
