I'd go with Samoa as first choice, or Fiji. They are close to the GCH and the main pool. :)

I definitely agree with this. Samoa is not only close to the pool but the little kids water play area is right there as well. Fiji is very close to the marina dock where the boat launches to the MK. For little kids with little short legs that tire easily these longhouses are great choices. :thumbsup2

I'm wondering the price of the sweatshirt also.
By the way, luv your photos of "Ol Blue Eyes" and "Slowhand"!
I've had the pleasure of seeing both of them perform....almost as magical as my Disney experiences

Does anyone know if you can order things from boutiki online?
Do they have an online site??? :confused3

There's no online site to order from, but you can usually get items from WDW Merchandising via phone. I don't have the number handy -- I'll try to dig it up if you'd like it. It helps a lot if you have a SKU, though, when you order. It's much easier for them to "find" the item in their system.

I've had stuffed toys, pins, and a few other things from the parks shipped to me over the years. :)

Thanks !! I've seen Clapton several times but i've never had the pleasure of seeing Frank, you're lucky !!!

I googled that Boutiki place but came up empty :rotfl2: I think we need the sku in order to order it through WDW Merchandising, otherwise it will be like trying to find a needle in a haystack for them

The sweatshirt is $39.95.
I tried it on and loved it but the zipper did not work at all. I tried a second one... and a THIRD sweatshirt and the zipper did not work. It connected at the bottom but did not move. I'm afraid they must be defective...So, 3 strikes and I was OUT. Hated it, b/c I really wanted it!!
Re. fit, it was LONG (and I'm tall!)

The tee shirts pictured below are all $24.95:

Totally OT here, but just chiming in as another HUGE Clapton fan!!! I've seen him several times also, most recently on May 31. LOOOOOOVE him!! I think he is the hottest man alive!

I think Poly lovers must just have all-around good taste!!!

I'm TOTALLY enjoying all the pix and live reports! Makes me so eager to go and I have 16 long MONTHS to drool over everyone's trips! (Oh well, at least I should be well prepared for my trip thanks to everyone else's being before mine!) The tshirts are way cool! It kills me to spend $25 on a TSHIRT but I just may have to break the bank and do it. Guess they figure if you're spending $400+ a night to stay there, a $25 shirt isn't going to dent the wallet, eh? haha

How about shirts in DTD or in the parks....are Tshirts just as expensive there?? What about kid shirts?

Another question....anyone know approx how much the stuffed animals cost? At disney store they're 2/$20 I beleive for the large ones, 2/$10 for the small but not sure if they are the same size or anything. I KNOW DDs are going to want LOTS of them so I better start saving! Are they any different tehre at Disney then they are in the Disney stores??

We stayed July 26th for one night at Club Level lagoon view. What an amazing time we had! We both wished to never leave. The concierge staff were so helpful and friendly. We stayed on the 3rd floor room 3516. Everything from the room to the lounge offerings were incredible! I had never stayed concierge at the Poly before and it was worth every penny. Honestly. We also spent about 45 minutes on the Sea Racer boats at the marina (which a little tip for you is if you're planning on going fast and have two adults in one boat that will not happen :)). We didn't realize we were almost at the max weight of 320 and our little boat was struggling but we had a great time and laughed as everyone flew by us.

Our views from the room:

Flowers waiting in our room left by the concierge staff:

Mickey head towel and a wrapped chocolate bar with the Poly screened on it left by the concierge staff (I actually left this behind as I'm not a huge chocolate fan and it was so hot it probably would've melted on our way to the airport or on the flight. I left it so they could give it to someone else to enjoy):

I was so overwhelmed by everything I actually started to cry standing on the balcony. I'm a little emotional :).

OMG those pix are amazing!!!! I'm so happy you enjoyed it!!!

QUESTION...have any of you been to the parks in early Dec? I am booked for Dec 2-9 (2009, mind you...haha) and now am wondering if it may be less crowede if we go the following week? I hate to run too close to Xmas b/c that is going to be hard returning from vacation and then be dumped in to all the holiday goings-on. However if there is a significant diff in crowds (and lines for rides....) then I'll change my dates. Do you think there will be a noticable diff in the crowd levels?

I'm going to do TourGuide Mike so I'm hoping that either week I should be ok, right?

THANKS!

Hi Melanie :)
The merchandise at the Disney Stores and the shops at WDW, in my opinion, are very much different. I can't give you prices on stuffed animals because I haven't purchased any in a while, but everything is a little more expensive in the parks. Since you have 16 months, I'm sure you'll be able to save enough for all the goodies you could want :cutie:
As far as the t-shirts go, I don't wear them, but I do wear the sweat suits that they sell. One white sweat jacket with the red Poly logo on the front chest cost me $60 and I think the pants were the same. I know it's not cheap, but that's what I look forward to purchasing on my vacation. Would I purchase a sweatsuit that expensive at home? I don't think so, but you can't get it anywhere else but WDW and they're very comfortable. Unfortunately, you said it, you're gonna break the bank with a Disney trip. That's why all of us here are working in the first place, to support our Disney habit

Aloha everyone :sunny:

First of all, THANK YOU SO MUCH to all of you for the good thoughts, wishes, condolences, etc. It's still a shock to realize that my dad is gone now. :( I did read every post and it really did make me feel good to see all of them. :grouphug:

Secondly: Regarding the new Polynesian logo merchandise: IT'S ABOUT STINKING TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :rolleyes1 I've been disappointed with the selection of Polynesian resort logo clothing for a few years now. We were just there in May and those t-shirts and that white/red sweatshirt was NOT there (I'd like to see the back of that sweatshirt, as well). :confused3 LOL

That's it! Now I have to plan a trip back there so I can FINALLY buy a cute Polynesian t-shirt! I like the blue one with the tikis on it :cool2:

Thirdly: YAY and THANKS to all of you who are posting live, sending and posting pictures, and reviews recently. Once I get caught up on life again I will add links to all of them, to the first post. :surfweb:
