That was going to be my question..Iam bringing my lap top..I'd be lost with out it, but I wondered if it would be safe. I'm glad the safes are that big at the Poly. My mac and me are joined at the hip:)

We just returned from a fantastic stay at the Poly and we left our laptop out every day. It was never disturbed in any way and I had no reservations about doing so. Maybe I am too trusting but I was not concerned with leaving it out at all. We never put it in the safe once!:)

We were at poly 2 weeks ago and wanted to see Kaleo sing/play the ukelele in the lounge and someone different was there. When we asked about him we were told he no longer was employed there. Anyone know what happened and if this is indeed true?

I noticed this too. I didn't think to ask while there but I did notice it was a different guy playing outside of 'Ohana. I wish I would have thought to ask about it. I love Kaleo! If anyone has any info on why he is no longer at the Poly please post it!:confused3

Fantastic choice!! Hope you have a wonderful trip!

I agree...you get spoiled. Honestly, the whole package deal, the overall experience is just different. We prefer to stay club level and happy that we can do so.

Oh, and by no means are we "snobs"!! I don't walk around with my nose in the air to anyone and neither do anyone else I've ever met while staying CL at any resort!!

You're right. It just the whole experience that we enjoy. And snobby we're definetly not, except for my DD17 -the diva. :rotfl:

I mean what is it about Club Level that makes a regular room pale in comparison?

I'm looking forward to the lounge and its view, to waking up with the castle in front of us and the beach right outside our room.
Love that both pools are right outside the building and the dock is right there to jump to the MK.

The help I've received so far from the IPO has been immeasurable. My dining is set, the birthday cake for my child is set for the room one night and I can't wait to be there this week!!

I may have to stop reading this thread until our next stay at the Poly!! Haha!! It's making me homesick!

On another note, I'm recovering from having my wisdom teeth out, and a Dole Whip would sure hit the spot right about now.

I have spent the whole day reading this thread and looking at the fantastic pictures.

I booked our WDW vacation this morning for Aug. 19 thru Aug. 24, 2008, so my wait is not that long. We have never stayed at any other resort in all our visits because we love the Poly so much. We feel so comfortable when we are there. Also, we've only stayed in the Hawaii longhouse and this time we will be in the Ambassador Suite in Tonga. This was the only concierge level room available, so we went for it. A bit nervous about staying somewhere different and I will miss my lagoon view, but so happy to be back at the Poly. Our last visit in 2004 was what I term "the vacation from HE**". We had fun and we laugh about it know, but it was a trying vacation.

Anyway, sorry to ramble, but I do have a question. We usually don't make dining reservations prior to our trip, but this time I want to make ressies for the Aloha Show and character breakfast. When can I do that? Do I have to wait till 30 days or something like that?

Thanks for the assist and for this great thread.

Nina

We're like johnsonet. We enjoy club level but don't stay there every time. And no, I've never encountered any snobbish people there. But most that stay at the GF aren't either in our experience.

I'm pretty sure I will love club level and I agree 100% with you BCV, most people i've talked to about the GF seem normal.

Hi Nina, welcome to the Polynesian FAQ. Staying in a suite sounds like great fun to me. Which way does the Ambassador Suite face?

Dining reservations can currently be made 180 days out but that window is changing to 90 soon according to rumors here and one CM that I spoke to when making some reservations. So I would call right away if I were you or email the concierge planning office.

Will you let us know about your stay? And I sure hope this vacation goes better!:goodvibes

I hope you love club level too. But I was referring to our stays at the GF. The majority of guests we've encountered at the GF are the same as the other resorts we've enjoyed. :goodvibes

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Is she having fun?

I hope so!! She, her husband and their 3 kids got there last night, and will be there for a week.

I'm counting on a full de-briefing between her trip and mine. And the two of us, along with a friend of mine, have our own little photpass share going on, so I hope she's having lots of pictures taken:thumbsup2

BCV, I have no idea which way the suite faces, didn't even think to ask. I think I remember the CR mentioning something about "your balcony" and garden view, but from maps I cked out it looks like garden view is all there is.

This vacation should go better than 2004. It seems something goes wrong on every vacation I take without the husband and he'll be with us this time, so should be smooth sailing.

I'm getting sooo excited.

PS: Thanks for the info on dining ressies. I'll take care of that tomorrow.

Is the CL upgrade worth it if you have the dining plan? What other kind of perks come with it? I keep hearing about it, but still not sure what makes it so special. Thanks!

huntconn I'm glad to know you and your family got home safe I really miss your live report.:goodvibes Hope you will be posting some pictures from your trip would like to see and hear more.popcorn::

Some of the suites face the marina while others are on the monorail side...not that I've ever stayed in one.:rotfl: But the ones facing the marina probably have a great view of Wishes. Tikiman's site has info on Tonga. Have a great and smooth vacation!

We've never added the dining plan when we've stayed club level. Other perks include beds turn downed in the evening (although anyone can request that), robes to use during your stay, help planning your dining and recreation reservations. Club level is a fun splurge but absolutely not necessary to a perfect vacation IMO.

You are so close! Have fun!:cool1:

Thanks for the clarification...its good to know for our trip at both the poly and gf this summer.
I've only had contact with people on here so that is what I was going by. ;)
