I am wondering about the housekeeping there, is it mostly hit or miss, or really bad?We haven't been to DisneyWorld for years. Iam not going to let that deter me, because even the folks that complained about housekeeping had a blast and raved about the Poly in general. /QUOTE]
We have had some issues with mousekeeping in recent years. We are not "white glove" type of people so we don't really pay too much attention to how thouroughly cleaned things are. But there have been several times over our last couple of trips to the Poly where housekeeping came either extremely late or not at all. Honestly, we're usually ok with just some new towels and washclothes and the garbage being changed. But not coming to clean the room at all is not acceptable. It's only happended once or twice though.
Theme park view you have an unobstructed view of the castle, lagoon view you can see the lagoon but not neccessarily the castle because of being on the ground floor, trees in the way, etc.
Theme Park View is just a guarantee that you will have an unobstructed view of the castle. Castle View would most likely be a more appropriate name for this classification. I mean let's be honest, people aren't paying extra for the great view of Space Mountain or Splash Mountain. They want the castle with fireworks on top of it! Although I do love seeing those other things as well.![]()
They are trying out a sushi bar at the Kona Island Café location. there is a menu for a sushi bar at the Kona Coffee bar!
My wife and I have reservations for a late lunch at the Kona Cafe and had a twofold question about transportation to Poly.
First, our plans right now are to spend the morning/early afternoon in AK. Is there a direct bus from AK to Poly or do you have to get creative... heading to the TTC first?
Also, in the event our plans alter a little bit and head back to our resort (CSR) from AK well before our reservation, what would be the best way to get to Poly from CSR?
Thank you.
Anyone heard the rumor about closing the Poly coffee bar and replacing it with a sushi bar?![]()
I just read this on the podcast discussion page...
Busses to all Disney resorts depart from each theme park and Downtown Disney, so you'll be able to pick up a bus directly from Animal Kingdom. From CSR, your closest park transfer is Animal Kingdom, although you could just as well take a bus to the Magic Kingdom and transfer via monorail from that point.
No resort busses route through TTC any longer. The TTC busses are for use between between the Magic Kingdom and Disney's Hollywood Studios/Disney's Animal Kingdom (monorail connects to MK).

That is correct. Just remember if you take the Monorail it will 1st stop at the Contemporary and TTC before arriving and if you take the boat it will 1st stop at the Grand Floridian. So basically the best way from CSR to Poly is to bus to MK and take the monorail/boat launch to Poly?
There were ice machines and there was also a snack machine with drinks available for purchase. So it was a combination snack/drink machine. Are there ice machines in each longhouse? What about soda machines?
Yes you can order room service.I was wondering, If you are staying GV at the Poly can you order room service? I would love to have that famous Kona Coffee waiting for me in the morning. Thanks!

I think the cost for drinks in the machine was $1.00, however I do agree that purchasing the refillable mugs would be better because of all the refills you can get with them.If I remember correctly the soda was expensive in the machines. I would recommend buying refillable mugs... unlimited soda refills for your entire stay at the Poly. Or another good idea is to bring your own soda and just keep it in the fridge in your room.Have a great trip!
