Can anyone tell me if there are handicapped access rooms in the Hawaii Consierge Longhouse??

We're sending our luggage with the grandparents, so that's not a problem. Is the ride interesting enough to keep the kiddos entertained?

A video is played about what's new at WDW or something like that. It's started as you leave the airport and ended just as we entered WDW property last time.

All the little kids I've seen are so excited to be going to WDW that they didn't seem to need much entertainment. Fun to see now that mine are all much older.

The grandparents might save some on gas if you let Mickey handle the luggage.:goodvibes But I'm sure it's neat to have your own delivery service.:thumbsup2

Happy planning.

There are two gardenview accessible rooms in Hawaii. At least one has a rollin shower as we have a reservation for that. Not sure if the other is rollin or a tub room.

Amy, sorry....didn't see that you had answered. Or maybe I was typing while your answer posted.

We've had lost luggage issues (plus we have a layover which can add to that possibility), so they're insisting on taking the luggage. Haha!! Hate to be stuck in Disney with no undies!

Hi again.

I've been scrolling through the thread again (10 more days!) and haven't seen an answer I'm looking for. (It might have been answered, but the anticipation is making me a little loopy).

I've seen pictures of the Poly marina with bikes. Can you rent a bike at the Poly? It would be nice to rent one, if only to bike to the GF, TTC and back (stop, take pictures, etc.)

Thanks!

Yes, you can rent a surrey bike at the Poly marina. But you will not be able to ride it to either the GF or the TTC. You are given a map at the time of rental which details which pathways you are & are not permitted to use. When we rented last May, they told us that the bikes can not go any further towards the GF than the wedding chapel. You also can not ride near the volcano pool--apparently they have had issues with bikes rolling into the pool (at the zero entry end), because people could not control them adequately! :rotfl:

It was fun... but as we were warned, it can be difficult peddling. There are more small 'hills' on the Poly pathways than one might realize (and the surrey bikes are 'one speed' with no additional gears). Didn't really bother us, as I typically cycle between 10 & 15 miles per day. But we were informed that most people get tired, give up and return the bike to the marina within less than 15 minutes (rental is by the half hour).

Do they only have Surry bikes? ... it might be difficult pedalling by myself :lmao:

Subscribing...

Considering possible staying here for my Disneymoon next year if we can afford it. :goodvibes It just looks soooooooooo relaxing!

Hi, is anyone going to be staying at the first week of Dec 2008. We'll be there with our kids (2 girls aged 10 and 13 and 1 boy aged 16). can't wait!

Sorry if this has been asked before, but Can you walk to the GF? If yes, how do you get there?

Thanks

If you are leaving the Great Ceremonial House (using this as a reference point since it is central to the property), exit the rear sliding doors and turn left down the path before the pool. Follow the path around the marina area (staying left). As you pass the longhouse on the right just past the marina, you will follow the path to the right. This path will take you past Luau Cove and along the shoreline. Simply follow the path around the lagoon toward the Wedding Pavilion at GF. There is a sidewalk running along the back of the pavilion, follow it around and stay right. You will pass the GF spa and end up just outside its themed pool. You can then follow the walkway to the right, walk past the themed pool, and from there to any point at GF you care to go.

Hope that's clear enough. Really, just keep the GF in sight and follow the sidewalk--you can't miss it. :) :thumbsup2

Thanks for the replies guys! I was giving it a two hour window (I'm really trying to figure out where we will be for lunch) so if it takes less time than that we will just have more time to

Learn from my mistakes - don't make an early lunch ADR when you're not sure when you will arrive at your destination!;) Last year, our flight arrived around 9 a.m. so I made an 11:40 lunch ADR at Le Cellier. We didn't make it (although it worked out okay; they seated us eventually even though we were late...) but I did stress out about it quite a bit!

This year, the ADR is for 1:30 (same arrival time) so hopefully we won't have any trouble making it!

Anyone know what hours the pool is open? Quiet or Volcano Pool, either or both.

I don't think the Poly pools ever officially close (other then refurbishment), but the volcano area of the Volcano pool does get roped off and is closed. From my experience there are official lifeguard hours at the Volcano pool, but not at the other Poly pool.

Both pools are "open" 24 hours a day; lifeguard hours at the volcano pool are generally 10am - 10pm, but they're subject to change. No lifeguard at the quiet pool.
