The New (Part 4) WL FAQ Thread...Just the Facts M'am!

DH and I are going to WDW in December, from the 4th to the 10th. Originally we were going to stay at POR but my sweet DH booked WL instead as a surprise for me!

I have been reading a lot on this thread and have a couple of questions..

We have booked a standard room. Is it possible to get a king bed in a standard room or do you have to upgrade to a better "level"? Which standard rooms offer the best view? If you don't ask for a woods or courtyard view what sort of a view do you get? We are going to ask about upgrading to Courtyard or even concierge when we check in but I would like to know what the others offer too!

We are VERY excited about staying at WL, we were at CBR in April and loved it but we know WL at Christmas will be AMAZING!

This is a wonderful thread! We have learned so much about WL and if everyone is this passionate about it we probably will be too!

Thanks to all!

Anyone else notice the UG lists WL as not having concierge?

I was switching from CBR to WL this afternoon. I got woods view, standard wasn't available for my code. I asked Tracy Irene (nice and helpful CM) what my chances are of getting upgraded to the 7th floor. She said it was pretty good since so few people know about it. I asked her to note a request for the 7th floor but not mention that I wanted a concierge upgrade. Now let's see if playing stupid works. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Hi all,

Speaking of rooms, I have a question.

Would any of you know, where would kingbed rooms be in the Southwing, 4th, 5th, or 6th floor, but further down toward Baylake? You know, closer to the pool and the gyser. Anyone know any room numbers? Thanks. :D

The only rooms that I have listed are either on1st floor or North Wing rooms!
Rooms 1026, 1027,1162,4073,5073 & 6025! There are probably others in South Wing...but where?...I don't know!

While UG doen't list Wilderness Lodge as having Concierge, (how old is the book) WL 7th floor use to be for honeymooners, I can assure you many know about the CL now. Including the room assigner...Good Luck...and heres some...

WHERE IS THE WEATHERMAN???!

I'm TOTALLY freaking out! www.weather.com says that there will be Isolated Thunderstorms this WHOLE next week!! YIKES!! I'm wondering, some of you that live in FL, and it says that and 30-50% chance, what is the likelihood of a bad day? I will be SOOO upset if I paid all this money for a full week or indoors at the WL. How does Disney deal with weather also? Thanks!

Take a deep breath, the middle of May we do have many afternoon showers, this usually cools things off. It is because all day the clouds are moving over the land areas building up heat then they hit the ocean and then produce the thundershowers.

Most don't last very long...15-30 minutes then back to a beautiful afternoon. This is why we always carry ponchos or some other rain gear.

Disney deals with the weather buy selling ponchos in the summers $$ (that can be purchased at home for 1/5th the price) and selling sweatshirts in the winter for even more $$$.

Most rides are not effected by rain a few are. (Test Track, Splash Mountain, Big Thunder, Dumbo)
Remember a 30% chance means there is a 70% chance you will not have any rain and 50% means 50% chance you will not receive any rain.

Thanks! It helped too that today here at home we have 30% chance of thunderstorms and although it was overcast, there wasn't a drop of rain!....phew....

I have already fallen in love with that  trail or
jogging path to Ft. W.

We would like to take a stroll, no running, just looking around ... to Nature !!
and maybe stop for a Coke at the cafeteria there ( If any !)

How long will it take from the lodge ? can we "see" ... deers or ...what ? at what time of the day ?

::MinnieMo ::MickeyMo Is this trail a nice romantic spot at night?

Thanks, Vets !!!!

:wave2:

My very wonderful:earsboy: DH (ssst! don't tell him) created a gorgeous screensaver based on WL pictures.

He even added some musical background.

If anyone is interested to get it, just drop an Email to me (well ... to him really) at

grumpy@disboards.net

Enjoy!!!:Pinkbounc :bounce:

The trail is about a mile long. It's not lite, so you probably won't want to use it after dark. Yes, you can get a coke at the store/gift shop or have a nice meal at Trails End!

I don't know what kind of wildlife you will see as I've not walked it.

:thewave:

WISHING YOU A VERY VERY MUCH MAGIC vacation !!!!

Hope you get "good" weather ... but I'm sure you'll have LOTS OF FUN even if there will be some rain !!!

Please say hallo to ::MickeyMo and Humphrey bear too !!!

Looks like the Disboards address doesn't work.

Anyone interested should send me a PM with his email, and I will send him/her the Wilderness Lodge screensaver.
Enjoy :wave2:

Reposting this notice again before everyone heads out:

OK it's official DIS Meet @ The Wilderness Lodge

We became aware that because so many of us love visiting WDW and The Wilderness Lodge, that we had quite a few DIS members that would be converging at WDW over the last few weeks in May.
Soooo... we are going to meet-up at the Lodge and visit for a few hours or minutes which ever you would like.

Date: Saturday, May 22, 2004
Time: 2:00pm-4:00pm
Place: Humphrey's Totem
( corner of the lodge by the mercantile, elevators, and the bridge in the lobby)

This will be very informal so don't worry if your at one of the Parks, relaxing by the pool, Training for the 1/2 Ironman, or just having fun, (added for our wonderful CM freinds) working, jump on The boat/bus to Wilderness Lodge and say hello.

Also wanted to see my timer.

Thanks for the info.

I have noted the time. We will try and make it.

:sunny:

MAGICinMYHEART,

Where are you staying at WL?

floridafam ,

I will be checking into the Lodge Sunday morning May 23-May 29, remember I couldn't get the discount code for the Staurday night due to the 1/2 Ironman.

Will try five days out from my arrival to try and add Friday and Saturday. If the rooms still aren't available I'll keep the two night's over at Pop Centruy. Pop was only discount rate I could get...
