The NEW Official November 2010 Countdown & Planning Thread ~ Come join us! (Part 2)

Qotd: what makes you feel like you are officially at Disney world?

When we pull up to the Boardwalk gate and the guard says, "Welcome home!" :lovestruc Next to my kids telling me they love me (rarer now that they are 12 and 10), that is one of the BEST things to hear.

FOUR MORE WORK DAYS 'TIL VACATION!!!!

:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

I need this vacation sooooooo bad! Work is nuts and I will be doing two weeks' worth of work so I can be gone for a week (and come back and see everybody waited for me to come back, based on the emails I expect to see in my inbox on November 15th :sad2:).

I gave my kids packing lists today, since they do not have school tomorrow (staff development day/election day at the middle school). I also put together my packing list today on the train into work. Tomorrow I will work from home and I hope to get a few loads of laundry done between conference calls.

My son just told me he wants to make another mickey head tie-dye t-shirt because he doesn't like the way his came out, and I'm trying to figure out whether or not I can squeeze that in before Thursday night. :headache: The rest of us love our tie-dye t-shirts, so I want him to love his, too, so I will probably help him make another one tomorrow afternoon.

Oh, and I bought cool Aerosmith iron-on decals for my DD12 and me, so I need to iron those on. She is so excited to try Rock'n'Roller coaster!!

I was also toying with the idea of making an eyeglass chain with some pretty glass beads I bought a while back, but I don't know if I'll have enough time for that. If I don't, I'll just bring my beading supplies and tools with me on vacation. (That's probably more realistic.)

Okay, I'm officially stressing out. But in an excited way!!!

Have I mentioned I am looking forward to this vacation??

I just wanted to thank you all for the kind words of support.:grouphug: This is affecting me a little more profoundly than I thought it would, possibly because there was no warning. There are so many feelings stirred up right now - she had sent my son a new train calendar earlier in the week, and I was going to have him call her to thank her yesterday...I'm just sad
I am so so sorry for your loss.
In less than 11 hours, we'll be on the plane :dance3::dance3::dance3: I am now trying to get the kids to bed, it's hard, because they are off from school tomorrow. Our schools close for election day. At 3:15 am tomorrow, my mom will be waking the kids to tell them about the trip.
Have a fabulous time! Can't wait to hear how excited the kids are!!

FOUR MORE WORK
:cool1::cool1: us too!

4 more days until we leave and of course my oldest son has a stomach bug and has been throwing up all night:headache:
Let's hope and pray it goes away soon!!!! Poor thing.

Happy November everyone! Let the trips begin!

Posting from Ormond Beach, FL. One night on the beach before arriving at POFQ tomorrow morning. :goodvibes

In less than 11 hours, we'll be on the plane [....] I cannot believe we'll be at WDW in about 13 1/2 hours. My turkey is ready, just need to put a few things in the suitcases and then pack up the car.

Hope you both enjoy your arrivals tomorrow!

FOUR MORE WORK DAYS 'TIL VACATION!!!!

Same here!! Can't wait to pull out of the driveway Saturday morning!!! But soo not ready; ack! DD is off of preschool tomorrow (public schools are closed for election day, and her preschool follows the same schedule no matter what the reason), then I'll be hitting the vaca prep hard and heavy on Wednesday. But I just finished doing my online check-in; woo-hoo! :woohoo:

Have you taken or will you take any tours this trip?

We do not have any tours booked for this trip and probably won't until my son is old enough. We have done Behind the seeds (really enjoyed it and cheap!!) and the keys to the kingdom tour. I found it interesting but it kind of killed some magic for me. I would love to do the steam train tour and one of the safari ones some day.

It's Monday. I leave on Friday. I am not packed, I still have things I need to get, I do not have all our ADRs, nothing is ready....... I don't know how I'm going to do this.:confused3

We go on Friday also... I do have ADR's though... but nothing else is done...

We arrive at POFQ on Friday!!!! I can't wait!!!:banana::banana:

I am out of the teens!!! 12 days!!!

It is 33 degrees here right now and 71 in Orlando!!! We had frost on the cars this morning!!

OMG did you see the weather reports for this weekend in Orlando?????? Thats just not fair....... Guess I will have to bring a few warmer things.

Three more days of work!! Leaving on Friday!

So excited for all of you who are leaving this week! I still have 22 days... but it'll be here soon enough! :yay:

QOTD- No, never have done and tours and won't be. Maybe someday when just hubby and I go but not too sure, I kind of like the idea of leaving the magic in place, but my mind may change on that.

Oh goodness - it's Tuesday morning, and we're leaving Thursday at midnight....and how much have I packed? Let's count....toiletries, check. Hmmmmm...that's it! Uh oh....:rolleyes1

I'm glad to hear the company made things right! Customer service is key.

It really is!! I was worried that it would be a hassle trying to get the money back, but he was very apologetic and assured me it would be taken care of immediately. Needless to say, next trip he will get my business again! :goodvibes

Hubby and I have behind the seeds as well. We really enjoyed it and will do it with the kids hopefully next trip, but this trip my goal is to slow down a bit and not always be in a rush to move from one thing to the next like we normally do.

Off topic, but I did find out over the weekend that we may be able to get something that will help with this goal. One of my cousins and his wife are going to be down at Disney the same week we are (just found out a couple weeks ago), so we were making plans to meet up when she mentioned a lil red card they have which is essentially a fast pass for everything. They were able to receive it due to the fact that one of their twins has had cancer.

Well, I cannot remember if I have mentioned here or not, but my Josh was born with scoliosis and has surgery on his back twice a year up in Philly at the Shriners' Hospital (next surgery is 12/2.) Needless to say, he gets worn out a lil faster than the rest of us and we have to watch how much we do. So, I am getting a note from our doctor explaining his health issues and hopefully we will be able to get one of these cards as well. :thumbsup2 It is good for six people, which fits my family perfectly :goodvibes If we are able to get it, our trip will be so much more relaxed because we won't have to worry about lines near as much! :dance3:

Just checked the weather for our first few days...so far so good:thumbsup2
Nov 14th 78/62 sunny
Nov 15th 82/67 sunny
Nov 16th 82/49 rain in the morning, then sun.

I am so excited!!!
