The NEW Official November 2010 Countdown & Planning Thread ~ Come join us! (Part 2)

Off topic a bit, but need some help.

I'm new at this messaging and stuff - this morning I had these NOTIFICATIONS on my CP, someone was asking when I was going and what part of New Orleans I am from, but I couldnt figure out how to reply and now I can't get back to that screen. It's not under my Private Messages.. Anyone have advice? I don't want the person to think I'm ignorig them.

We're back too! First time at Disney where we had to wear pants and jackets. We didn't really plan for that either but had enough to get us by. Had some 80's too so we were very much pleased with the weather.

Crowds were good. Tuesday we went to Magic Kingdom. Got there at rope drop and rode so much between 9 and lunch time. We had Fantasyland done within what seemed minutes. We walked on everything except dumbo but that was only a 10 minute wait. First time on TSM too. LOVED IT! We got there at rope drop and still waited 30 minutes to ride but it was great and didn't really seem that long. We watched pretty much every parade and firework show. Had great seats and never waited more then 20 minutes beforehand to get a spot. Food was great too. Ohana was wonderful and we tried Boma for the first time and really enjoyed it.

We all agreed that this was one of the better trips we've had at Disney. Stayed at Wilderness Lodge and nothing beats that boat ride to Magic Kingdom. We loved it there. Like others have stated, we are sick too. All of us have head colds and sore throats....luckily they didn't come upon us until after we left Disney! Not happy to be back at work either and being sick doesn't really help.

Hope all of you who haven't been yet, have as good of trip as we did.

WE'RE BACK TOO! I wanted to offer one tip for those whose travels are still upcoming: if you're at DHS during PM EMH, head over to the theater used for the Playhouse Disney show. While waiting for a showing of "Voyage of the Little Mermaid", we stumbled upon a walk-in dance party with the characters; it was a BLAST! There were people giving out balloon animals/hats, the music was jamming, bubbles were flying, and DD had such a great time dancing with the characters. She line danced to the Cha-cha slide with Handy Manny, and Mickey took her by the hand to help her "roll" while dancing to Proud Mary! (Sadly, DH was in the bathroom with the camera, but they will be priceless memories for me.) Minnie and Goofy were also there, it was such a wonderful surprise!

We haven't had a chance to do this Playhouse Disney dance party, but after reading your description, I may need to try this. Do you recall if it only starts after the park closes and EMH begins, or does it start sooner?

10 more days until we leave!!!! I am so excited for us the next few days are going to be tough!!!!! My one concern is the weather, those of us who are leaving on/b4 thanksgiving have ya'll looked at the weather? Accuweather shows 80 on one day and 66 the next:scared1: boy do i have some thinking regarding packing!!!

I know! When I started charting the weather it was all 70s in the day and I was thinking, Ok, I can do that. And I packed everything for that. Then not less than 2 days later, I saw it went up to 83 degrees some days and then down to 60 for highs. I need to go check it out again today.

So I just threw in 3 s/s shirts and 2 pairs of shorts and added some jeans. Now I definitely packed too much but I'm not changing it. We'll have all these 'emergency clothes' bags in our strollers to cover any possible weather except snow! ;)

I cant believe we are leaving Friday!!! 4 more days!!! oh wow!!! Im super super excited!!! :cheer2::dance3::yay:

See you there!!:banana::banana:

Here we are, only 5 more days left until we leave!! I am doing wash all day the first part of the week, and I am hoping to be all packed and ready by Thursday night. Hubby had a great idea...he said we should go to Disneyland on Friday night since we fly out on Saturday. It may just be a good idea, if I can get all the packing done. The recent reports of airline security has me a bit nervous. I don't want to have to wait in line at LAX for an hour or more!

Oh, and I weighed in today, and I lost 35.5 pounds. It's a little short of my 40 pound goal before WDW, but I'll take it! Let's just hope I don't gain too much on vacation!!

I'm trying to convince DW to travel with only a carry-on. It doesn't look like I'm going to win this one as she keeps telling me that she has too many liquids UGH!!! :confused3

Oh well, one checked bag won't be too bad I guess. LOL

Hmm .. what to do? What to do? We leave at 5am on Friday :scared1:
We are driving. I cannot imagine getting a week's worth of stuff in a carry on!!!

Congratulations! That's fantastic! I'd take it, too! (I only managed to lose 7 of the 40 I wanted to lose...)

Welcome Back Shelly! Can't believe you're home already! (It's actually kind of hard to keep reading "we're back" from everyone because it just reminds me of how quickly it goes!)
I am pretty much finished packing, just need to throw in some jeans for DH.
Only 3 more days!
We did the drawing thing a few years ago, and I have put that back on my to-do list this trip, my DS12 loves to draw.

That drawing class sounds like fun. Where do I go for that? and are there certain times?

In July of 09, my son was sick on the way home. We drove. We constantly had to stop for him to throw up on the side of the road, and at rest stops and had to buy supplies (new shirt :sad2:) and medicine at Wal-Mart... but I couldn't get him and DH to agree to just stop for the night at the nearest Comfort Inn and get a good nights sleep and try leaving again in the morning. Men! It was a pretty nightmarish 21 hours and by the time we got to the Washington DC area, it was morning rush hour. :sad2:

Online check-in is STILL not working!

I am too tired to type much but I met emt-pinky today! Disney is the most amazing place ever, my son loves it, I am soooo tired and the wishes cruise was awesome!!!!!!!!

Yep, sounds just like us. We used the popcorn buckets with the lids from Disney. Gross I know but we were out of time and had to get home. Good luck this trip to both of us that we don't repeat.

The grossest part is when my son threw up, he was in the front seat because we needed him the best position to minimize nausea. I had left my little purchase bag with pins in it between the front seat. Guess what bag he grabbed!:scared1: At the next rest stop, DH had to wash them out in the men's room sink, and then quarantine them until we could get them sanitized at home. And also unfortunately, DD7 had lent him her Tinkerbell blanket because he was chilled. Try washing THAT out in a men's room sink:eek:. The quarantined items were placed in a plastic bag (thank you Wal-Mart) and put up in the Thule. Good thing we brought it on the roof. :sad2: Hopefully everyone remains healthy on this trip!

My son threw up in the backseat on the way home last week. It was all over his carseat and him. Oh and it was beef jerky so you can only imagine the smell of that! We did our best to clean him and the seat up at a gas station and then headed to a hotel for the night.

The carseat was shampooed last night. And I dont want anything to do with beef jerky for a long time.

Can someone tell me more info on the drawing class?
My dd loves to draw and is quite good, I'd love to try to do this with her if someone can give me details????

Well... we took our van in for service, oil change, tire rotation, and to get checked out before our trip (we're driving) and they discovered a tranmission issue... and a $2,000 price tag if we decide to fix it! :sad1: It's something that's barely noticeable, I never imagined it would be that much! Not sure what we're going to do. They said we could probably get away with not fixing it right now... but do we want to take that chance with a drive from PA to Florida??? At this point I'm actually looking into trading it in! :confused3 Good thing we have free dining... or we'd be eating PB&J the whole trip...

It's The Magic of Disney Animation. It's in DHS. It's a lot of fun! We did it 3 times the last time we were there! An animator shows you how to draw Disney characters, and you get to follow along! Great souveneir, too!! (I don't think I spelled that right...)

I'm not sure, we were over around Pizza Planet and Muppet*Vision 3D when the EMH started. Around 10pm we were heading back to the Voyage of the Little Mermaid show since DD had slept in it, but had about 45 minutes to kill until it started. That's when I stumbled upon the dance party; I had no idea they even did that until then.

I am too tired to type much but I met emt-pinky today!

Yay for you! She's the only one from this group I saw, which is ironic because my DH and I know her in real life. It was somewhat a passing of the guard, too. We were on our way out for the last time after meeting Tiana and Naveen, and her family had just arrived and were getting lunch at Casey's Corner.

HELP!!! As I was going through my pins last night, I realized there was one of the pins I thought I had picked up was missing. Can any of you help a girl out? I want one with the 2010 logo on it. There's one with the "Twenty" part spelled out and the numerical 10, or one with the numerical 2010. I would prefer the one that's all numerical, but would take the Twenty-10 if it's all anyone can get me. I would greatly appreciate the Disney magic if any of you are willing to help out!

 I just found this thread - we leave for an unexpected trip this Thursday, the 18th for 4 ngts. I would be happy to try to find the pin for you.:thumbsup2 Does the pin only have the date on it? No characters etc?

I leave November 27th and get back December 8th... If no one else can get it for you before then let me know and I will keep an eye out for you!! :o)

Thanks so much to both of you! I found this one on the Disney Store's website; it's sold out online but I'm about 95% sure it's the same one that I saw in several stores at WDW.

ETA: Or it could have been this one. In fact, the more I think about it I think THIS was the one I saw in Florida:
