dd informed me today that last year with no stroller was too hard on her!!!! She is 7!!! She said she thinks I should get one this year!!! So, we'll see...maybe it will stick all my stuff in it again...they were convenient for us for sure!

Thanks everyone for your thoughts on EMH. Given crowds will be so low, I think we'll stick to our current plan. We're catching evening EMH at DHS, EP, and AK, and one morning EMH at MK. Particularly with all the evening EMH's, we're not hopping, so I figure we can go back & rest after lunch, then return to the parks to enjoy the evenings (we're all night people so this works well). The AM EMH at MK I'm not so concerned about, we're mainly going that day b/c I needed another MK day somewhere, plus this way we'll already be there for the MVMCP. I figure with crowd levels at 2 all week, even a "busy" day that week shouldn't be too bad.

Regarding carrying stuff, I've been carrying my own backpack since I went in high school, back when I was still able-bodied. This year I'll probably have one on the back of my chair, and DH will have another. We'll also be able to use the bottom of the stroller for jackets and such. I also TOTALLY plan on taking advantage of having packages sent from the stores back to the resort!

Speaking of strollers, I think we decided today to just use our travel system stroller. Our umbrella stroller has NO storage, plus is too short for DH to comfortably push for so long (he's 6ft 2in). We thought of getting a new one, but at turning three DD is almost past stroller stage, and it just didn't make sense to spend so much money on a new stroller when we could spend about $25 to fix up the travel system one. (One of the back wheels got bent, so we ordered a new rear wheel assembly.) Besides, we're starting to discuss #2, so next time we do WDW we'll probably be looking at a tandem, so buying another single just didn't make financial sense.

Giving up the stroller is bitter sweet....my oldest made use of the stroller until he was 7 because he had a younger brother that still used it. June was our first trip without the stroller. They are/were 9 and 6. Both boys were troopers and even made it through a 16 hr. day at MK. I really missed the storage space of the stroller but we used a back pack instead!

Before the days of cell phones I always had a "meet Place" picked out anytime we went anywhere in case one of my DS became "lost"

One time at a boy scout jamboree my youngest DS(8) "disappeared" into a sea of scouts all dressed alike , all about the same size :scared1:
When we had arrived I pointed out to my DS the Gazabo and told him if we became separated to go there to meet. Yes I went to the Gazabo and there he was sitting waiting for me.:)

Whew, bet you were both relieved to find each other at the gazebo.

Yep, we always decide on a meeting place each day "just in case". She also knows to go directly to a CM if she ever finds herself separated from us. I can't imagine the panic I'd be in if that ever happened, though. :scared1:

Thank you. :flower3:

I love it too! The GF has pillows with the song written on them. I'll sing it to my family when we arrive at the room and they start throwing pillows at me. They won't even let me sing at church. I get elbowed from both sides.

We have the same problem with the stroller. We have an umbrella we've always used for Disney which has a bag and I had made another one that attached to it. But now DS6 is too big for it and it really doesn't make sense to buy a new one (he wouldn't ride in a stroller outside of Disney).
I sat down last night to really figure out how many full park days we'd have and it's only 3 the whole week. All ther other days we'll have breaks and can grab the sweatshirts, etc. I figure on those 3 days if I end up needing to i'll just rent one.

That is toooo funny:rotfl:
Yeah...dd did great without a stroller last year and was glad not to have it...at times when she got tired dh carried her a little bit and she was good to go!!!Not sure what the relapse for a stroller is about?!!!

So my kids get to pull the 1st number off our 100 day countdown calendar today and I added a little suprise last night. I randomly stuck gold stars on the back of ten of the numbers and when they pull those they'll get a present for our trip. I put one on for tomorrow so they don't have to wait too long. Most of the gifts will actually be things I am going to make. I found the designs on the DIS. For tomorrow I printed out a scavenger hunt for the car ride that I laminated and will ring together with a pack of dry erase markers. Some of the other things will be a car bingo game, an epcot passport, a cool scavenger hunt I found for Tom Sawyer Island, also some cute coupons for Mickey ears, a trading pin and a Mickey shaped ice cream. The coupons i'll attach to a small gift (disney kooky pens to take for autographs, disney pez). I also plan on giving them our yearly disney hallmark ornament towards the end. I think it will make the countdown even more fun (I know most of you are really anxious, but this is my favorite part- the anticipation and family discussions of what we'll do and how much fun we'll have!)

cyndiloveswalt~ Thats a great idea, and I too love the anticipation and the discussions we have when planning...thats a lot of the fun for me!!!
And guess what today means?

That sounds like so much fun! I'm so jealous of creative people. The good thing is, I can steal their ideas.

I never sing where anyone else can hear me.

With our trips now coming up soon, have any of you thought about reporting live from the parks? I was considering it. I don't twitter. But I thought maybe I would check in here via my iphone. And I always do a small Facebook live report.

Atleast you can steal them. I am so un-crafty that I can't even copy a craft! LOL

I'm sorry to just now update. I'm just copying some of my post from the thread about my Mom...http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=37654095#post37654095

We are so thankful for your prayers. My sweet Mom went to be with our Lord on Sunday, Aug.1st. Our family was so blessed to be able to visit with Mom & tell her how much we loved her. We all (about 15 of us) went in individually to talk to her. She was so ready to go see Jesus face-to-face! She kept us up until 3:30 Sat morning cracking jokes & making all of us laugh. It was probably the funniest night of my life. We never knew she was such a comedian!

We prayed for God's Will & it was hard to not pray "Fix her! Heal her!" I miss my Mom SO much, but I cannot describe how wonderful it feels to know that she is praising Jesus face-to-face!! God answered our prayers & relieved Mom of her pain---even though the Hospice doctor & nurses suspected she'd make it several more days. God is SO good

She requested that her funeral would be a happy celebration & it was! We've had TONS of people call & write to us saying that was the best, happiest funeral they've ever attended. I'm just SO thankful we made it to see the whales. Love to you all, Angela

I am sorry to hear about your mothers passing. But I know it has to be such a relief to know she is no longer in pain and is rejoicing in Heaven. Your family will be in our prayers for continued strength and healing as you deal with the loss of your mother,

I though about it last year, but then decided that I should just take a vacation from the DIS when I am at WDW!!!:goodvibes :rotfl:

I might spend too much time on here when I am home. . .:guilty:

We are going November 7th through the 14th. I can't wait. I wish the time would go by faster:)

Angela

I am so sorry for you loss. But I know that you have comfort knowing she is no longer in pain and in a better place with her Lord and savior. How awesome that you got to have such a happy time with her on that last Saturday and that the funeral service was just as she would have wanted it to be.

We are here if you need to talk. :grouphug:
