You were able to re-book 19 people on the same flight without some people having to take another flight?! With how booked flights are these days... wow.. that is amazing!:worship:

Oh no, not me....JLVermillion is travelling with 19 people. :goodvibes

We do so every year, it is DHs family and they are more like friends than they are family. Send me some pixie dust for the cancel/rebook. Thanks

Oh, I know it was JL. I was just echoing your comment about being a brave woman for traveling with 19 people!!! I see how it looked confusing!

We had 13 family members on our cruise/tour of Alaska and we had a blast. We had 16 friends and family for my friends son's 14th birthday dinner at TRex in DTD on March 30th! Big groups can be fun, but it gets crazy when everyone won't follow your carefully crafted touring plans! :rolleyes1

We have a large group going in November... and I made books for them with our tour plans and explained WHY it is important to follow them... at least for the first day in that park... then when we go back for the second visit they can wander... everyone SEEMS to understand...:rotfl:

That is how it is with us we have been doing this for ten years now via the generosity of be DiLs . We tried the everyone stay together thing and as my DFiL said then you end up "waiting to wait" We now split up into groups and then meet back up for dinner / pool and shows. We always have a total blast and when we meet back we have all kinds of things to talk aboutparty:I am so excited for Halloween! I am going to dress up with the kids , hoping DH will also:wizard: Is anyone else going to be there for Halloween and are you dressing up?princess:

Glad to here everyone is feeling better also:banana: I am back on the workout wagon and I am soooooo sore.....is it worth it?:confused3

DH, DD20(then 21), DD16 staying at POR Nov. 18th through Nov 28th. Our first holiday in the parks and our longest trip. I did the math and realized if we checked in 2 days early we qualified for free dining. So we added two days and paid $50.00 less for the package and were upgraded from our paid QS to free TS and we also save our OOP TS meal cost too. YIPPEE two more days in the World and less money. Changed our airline flight and saved 68.00 too. We booked the following reservervations.
1900 Park Fare - Nov 18th
Le Cellier - Nov 19th
Crystal Palace - Nov 20th
Checking out US if my DD16 still wants too - Nov 21st
Sci Fi - Nov 22nd
Biergarten - Nov 23
Whispering Canyon - Nov 24
Cape May Cafe - Nov. 25

Wishes Dessert Party Nov. 20th
Keys the Kingdom Tour - Nov 26

So excited now to read all 160 pages of the thread.

:welcome: We're glad your both here! Feel free to join in the chatter anytime!!

Hello my friends:yay:
Just wanted to say hello..I have been neglecting my lovely DIS boards lately..life has just been crazy!! I will continue to lurk from time to time and I am sure once it gets closer, I will be all over this place:banana: We are going to Alaska one month from today..so that is occupying my free time. Our flight is out of DC so we are going a day early to take the kids to some museums and so we can be close to the airport..I fear DC traffic when I have a plane to catch:scared1:

App.'t went well yesterday but was a bit unnerving. The tech took 2 films and radiologist looked at them and requested another film.:sad2: I was told that the doctor would give me the results before I left. The doctor looked at it and told me everything looked great. I'm just thankful that she was very thorough.:)

Thoroughness is good, but when it means more mamograms, it can be very unnerving, too! I'm glad everything came back normal.

OKAY! It took me most of the night to get caught up, but I did it!

With all the chatter about AP prices going up in early August, my DH and I decided to buy them online. I was doing the math to see if it was worth it for all of us to get APs, because I really want to buy a TIW card (to save 20% off food and beverage purchases) and you need an AP to get a TIW (at least that's the way I understand it), or if it would be cheaper to get three 6-day park hoppers for me and the kids and one AP for my husband (just to get the TIW card). We used to get two Disney vacations out of one AP: we would go the last week of May one year, then the next year we'd go the second-to-last week of May. Because the two trips are in the same 365 days, it saved us from buying 6-day park hoppers each time. (Neat, huh?) Since we're going in November this time, as long as we go back in late October next year, we can get two trips out of our APs again. My Visa is getting to the max, though, so this is going to be the last big purchase for a while. (It would have been fine if the truck hadn't needed new front brakes and a rotor last month!)

I need to go to bed now. It's late and we're going to a cookout at my girlfriend from college's house (mansion really - - she married well, while I married for love - just kidding). I'm bringing my famous tortelini salad, so I've got to get up early and pull that together.

Have a nice rest of the weekend everyone!

Add us too..Nov 7-13 vwl.. Got all our adr we wanted too..The 7th at wcc,8th at Boma,9th at Tusker House breakfast,10th Le cellier,11th Fantasmic mama melrose,12th Ohana

Good morning all! Had a couple minutes to check in and catch up. Hope everyone is having a good weekend.
Shelly- read my celcbrations pretty much cover to cover and really enjoyed it, my kids really love it! Thanks again for the link!

Is your Cape May Cafe ressie for Thanksgiving Dinner or is that the Character Breakfast? In 2007 we did Thanksgiving dinner at Whispering Canyon. I've done the CB at Cape May last July and loved loved loved it! Such selection of yummies!! This year our Thanksgiving dinner is at Chef Mickey! Can't wait.. never have eaten there and we're going to have to cancel Chef Mickey for our August trip because we keep getting hit with unexpected big ticket costs!!

which DC airport? I live right by Washington Dulles. I hope you're out of Regan National if you're planning on touring the city. Dulles or BWI aren't exactly close enough, although Dulles has a direct road into the city. The rush hour around here last pretty much all day, so plan accordingly.

We did that before with tickets too. We bought AP's in Nov 2007 for our first big DVC vacation and first Thanksgiving at Disney. We then used them for spring break 08 and squeezed in one last stay at OKW in Oct 2008 for MNSSHP and F&W. Our average cost per person per park day for that cycle of AP's was about $16.00!! We didn't renew because we didn't know our plans for 2009. We ended up going in July for a 7 day trip, bought a new set of AP's which we used also used for spring break 2010 for 7 days. We just renewed those, and we're getting 9 days on them this August and will use them again for November this year. There is a special going on giving you 15 months renewal instead of 12, so our new passes will expire in Oct 11. Maybe we can squeeze in a few more visits in that time.

I know what you mean by the truck repairs. Would this happen to be a Chevy truck? Ours always gets jealous (my Chevy van too) and seems to need something right before a trip or right after another big ticket purchase. We just got slammed by a nearly $500 electric bill thanks to our 100 degree record breaking heat, and the next one is slated to be the same!:scared1: No more Chef Mickey. No more Typhoon Lagoon... all these big ticket items are cutting into my Disney fun!! We also have to pay my son's college tuition a few days before our Disney vacation. :sad2: As Gilda Radner said.... "if its not one thing..... its another!!".

At least I use a Disney Visa so I get points that get put on a gift card as $ that I can spend at Disney!:woohoo:

I will do that next time!! :thumbsup2

Mindy,
We are flying out of Reagan the morning after we go...the hotel has a courtesy shuttle to the airport which is 3 miles away. Why do you think it will be an issue touring the city based on what airport we are at? We plan on getting into Washington in the morning and possibly going to the Smithsonian and then heading to the hotel.. We are not going all around..we may just see one or 2 things then let the kids go swim at the hotel. Our flight is at 1130am the next morning.

Playing with dh new Evo phone. This is fun! Not sure about this keyboard word suggestion thing. Can't figure out how to turn it off. My phone is basic. No texting, no extras so this is a huge leap :)
