I saw this somewhere else, but thought it would be a good question of the day here as well.

What is your favorite water based ride?

For us it would Pirates of the Caribbean.

If you count water parks, then my answer is Teamboat Springs at Blizzard Beach.

If you don't count water parks, then my answer is Kali River Rapids in Animal Kingdom.

Side note: Would you believe I haven't ridden Splash Mountain before? It is my MISSION to go in November (whether anyone in my family is willing to go with me or not).

Got all the ADR's done last night...and then DH says "wouldn't the kids like a little more Character interaction"! Took me like 3 days of back and forth to come up with what I have. I guess I only have Donalds Bfast. UGH!

Im sure you were like me and asked multiple times if DH had any requests reguarding ADRs, his answer being "Whatever you want." Enough to drive you crazy! My DH did that to me last year. We only did Chef Mickey last year for DDs first trip, but I didnt worry it wasnt enough. She saw lots of characters throughout the week and the interaction was much better than CM. One of her favorite moments was meeting Stitch at the entrance inside Epcot.

We have always had excellent character interaction at Chef Mickey's and Crystal Palace.

"Effective June 1, 2010, Cinderella's Golden Carrousel in Fantasyland at the Magic Kingdom will change its name to Prince Charming Regal Carrousel. Built by the Philadelphia Toboggan Company in 1917 for the Detroit Palace Garden Park, the Carrousel was originally red, white and blue, symbolizing the patriotism of the era, with figures of Miss Liberty. In 1928, the carrousel was brought back to Philadelphia for refurbishment where it spent the next 39 years at Olympic Park in Maplewood, New Jersey. When Maplewood closed in 1967 and Disney Imagineers discovered the Carrousel, it was fully restored in time for the opening of Magic Kingdom on October 1, 1971, with a new look celebrating the story of Cinderella. Along with 2,325 lights and 18 hand-painted scenes on the canopy, the five different sizes of hard-maple horses (18 rows of five horses each) are arranged from the largest on the outside to the smallest on the inside. The band organ that adds music to the ride is part of the antique masterpiece and each horse is completely unique, with its own pattern, color scheme and a number on the bridle."

Crystal Palace is a must for all four of my kids. (My thirteen year old actually chose it for this trip.)

My husband got in today's mail another pin from Disney Destinations, 40% off stays most nights 9/1/10 - 10/9/10, 10/24/10-10/30/10, 11/14/10-11/20/10, 11/28/10-12/4/10, and 12/12/10-12/18/10. When you completely open the flier, it says "We've scared up plenty of great events to enjoy during these special times!" MNSSHP (select nights) 9/14-11/1; Int'l Food & Wine Festival 10/1-11/14; MVMCP (select nights) 11/8-12/19; Holidays Around the World 11/26-12/30, and The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights 11/8-1/4.

Of course, the dates we are going are not included in the dates above, but I cannot be too picky since we already got free dining for the week we are there.

I am so excited that we will be able to see Osborne Family lights . Hoping to go to MVMCP, not sure yet. If so, we will be very busy on our last day at WDW.

Pirates of the Caribbean for myself and son . It's a Small World is my mom's all-time favorite. My daughter's favorite is the Kali River Rapids.

My grandma loves It's a Small World as well. It creeps me out, the way the dolls eyes follow you throughout - it turns in to a possessed twilight zone ride after while.

I had read a week or so ago about the name change on Disney Blog I think, but I found the history in your post very interesting.

We can't wait to see the Osborne Family Lights!! Glad to see the dates are set. Is it best to be there when they first turn them on?

I was wondering the same thing. That evening we have ADR for 5 pm in Epcot, then we have to rush over to DHS to see the Osborne Family Lights, then to MK for the MVMCP Thank goodness for Hopper passes
