Thanks! That is what I thought. We are close to 2 hours from Youngstown & 4 from Colombus. Anything we might save on airfare would probably go for gas, parking & hotels. We have family closer than we are to PIT. We stay over at their place the night before. We leave our car at their place since they graciously take us to the airport on their way to work. They also pick us up when we return!!

We're from Pittsburgh too! And anxiously waiting for Southwest to open up their schedule. If we can't get a good price, I think we might do the drive... eek! But having that money we would have spent on round trip tickets for 4 (minus driving costs of course) is mighty tempting!

I am so sorry!! I know that has to be freaking you out to say the least. You all will be in my thoughts and prayers. (By the way, is that the hospital that is close to Shriner's Hospital? I only ask, because my son Josh goes to the Shriner's Hospital up there every six months for back surgery and I recall there being another hospital close by.)

Well....I have been trying to jump on and read now and then...been very busy! Sent my little man off to church camp today for the week....had to have him at church by 5:30....and it's about 15 minutes from here...and of course we slept badly--lest we oversleep! Kinda like getting ready for Disney! So...I know he is going to have fun...his speaker for the week did our church service yesterday and he was FANTASTIC!! So..I know he will enjoy him...and at 14 I am sure he welcomes a week with his friends!!!! Been working on redoing my flower beds before our killer summer hits...and I was too late!! This last weekend was hot and humid....dh helped me plant the big stuff....got some roses I want to put in the front small bed...then I am finished!!!!Not really thinking toooo much about disney right now...we have a long hot summer to get through and it's just too tiring to think about cleaning and cooking--let alone vacation!! ha!!!!
Yay for all of you who are below the 5 month mark!! i am right behind you!!!

Happy Monday everyone! Hope you all enjoyed your weekends. We had a fun whirlwind trip to Houston for my cousin's daughter's h.s. graduation, driving there on Saturday and back on Sunday. We had a great time catching up with everyone. One of my other cousins who was there I hadn't seen in about 10 years, his wife in about 15, and two of his kids (18 and 12) I had never met. (I guess technically I saw the 18yo when he was 3 and I was 14, but that hardly counts.)

Andrea, I hope your LO is feeling better soon! It's always scary having our kids in the hospital.

Some pages back, someone asked about who's going to MVMCP and if tickets had been purchased. We are going on Nov. 11 and yes, we have our tickets.

Regarding the last QOTD, I'd probably choose to get stuck in a show. I would think the performers would probably do some impromptu stuff to keep everyone entertained. As far as the secondary discussoin of things we've gotten stuck on, we got stuck on Peter Pan on my last trip in 2003. My sister and her DS were right before the edge of the unloading platform, and my niece and I were right behind them.

What's the coolest thing that ever happened to you at WDW? Could be a bit of pixie magic, a special memory, or even just a funny thing.

For me, it would probably be the animation tour on my first visit in 1990. I recall that the animators working on a movie, we even saw sketches on some of their tables. Turned out to be a little movie called The Lion King.

What's the coolest thing that ever happened to you at WDW? Could be a bit of pixie magic, a special memory, or even just a funny thing.

For me, it would probably be the animation tour on my first visit in 1990. I recall that the animators working on a movie, we even saw sketches on some of their tables. Turned out to be a little movie called The Lion King.

I guess for us it would be the trip where we got the dream fastpasses for Animal Kingdom. It was during the year of the million dreams promotions. We were standing in line for the safari ride, when a CM opened the handicap gate and pulled several of us through to catch a ride on a vehicle parked in the handicap area. Next thing we all know, we all got the dream fastpass. It was pretty cool.

Last year we packed mostly summer attire. And that's what we mostly needed. I did throw in a couple pair of jeans for each of us and we ended up needing them one day when it didn't quite hit 70. The rest of the days were 78+. Light jackets are good too for cooler mornings & evenings. And don't forget your swimsuits!

Great question!!

Well, after 3 attempts in January 2009, both my boys got chosen for the Jedi Training Academy!! They were beyond thrilled and I was so happy that they both got chosen!

Another great memory - well funny really, was when DH got picked as an extra in the Backlot Tour preshow. The guy who hates water was chosen to be the guy who gets all that water dumped on him. Hilarious!!

My husband also got chosen for that part in the Backlot Tour a few years ago- it was fun to watch!
Our last trip in Oct, we stayed at BWV and had my mother in law with us. The boys seemed to get picked for all kinds of fun things. My DS6 got to do Jedi training (he was the last one picked). By the way, I read on another thread that they are no longer picking randomly, there is now a line. My DS11 was pulled into a basketball/fishing net juggling act by a performer in Italy, they both got to help out with the magicians on the boardwalk a couple nights, and my little one walked right up to the candy maker in Japan and she picked him to get a candy (which I also read they are no longer giving out). It was all little things, but it really added to the magic!

I guess maybe it was the year we stayed at the YC and were upgraded at checkin to a conciere(Club Level) room. When we went into the room sitting there on the table was a huge fruit baskit and we enjoyed coming back from the parks to find the beds turned down with chocolates waiting for us every night, my boys especially loved getting to use their room keys in the elevator to go up to the conciere lounge. They felt like big shots!
