This is the first time in years that I actually made my plans without really considering the park hours. We are not seeing FANTASMIC! this year. So, that wasn't a issue. The only EMH hours we are interested in is the evening of the 21st at MK. And we didn't want morning EMH on the 27 at MK. Otherwise, it doesn't effect us. And even if they did change those, it still really wouldn't make a difference. We just like late hours at MK.
!

We are the same way -- we have done it all so many times, that i don't revolve it around the parks anymore - but more about the food. :lmao: I don't do most PM EMH - except MK. I like the a.m. EMH better, as i am a morning person -- but, i have shyed away from doing MK on TG day or the day after -- i just can't take it anymore.. :scared::rotfl: TG day at rope drop at the MK is one crazy place!! popcorn::

Now what did effect us?..... Changing resorts. DH is not aware of this yet. But I am going to change our Yachtmans to our arrival day around 9pm, Narcoossees to Sun around 5 and in place of Yacthmans, I am going to add Jiko. And do away with Grand Floridian Cafe. That is, if I can get the ok from DD1, since GFC was her dining choice. Oh and I already changed 1900 Park Fare to Friday at 8am and canceled Chef Mickeys. Then I booked Cape May for Thursday morning at 8am! We haven't done Cape May before!

So, that gives us a good mix of repeats (6) and newbies (7)! Really Really Really hoping DD1 agrees, because I really want to try Jiko!

It is rather comical in my case, I did not plan around the park hours except for DAK, was going there for a couple of hours only after spending the day at DTD then back to the resort for my celebration dinner for DH retirement, so now I either skip DAK which is fine with me just not sure what to do with our x-tra time that day, oh I know could run over and see the OL a second time or just go nap after DTD .......decisions, decisions.....Disney please don't keep changeing things on me :lmao:

We have no intentions of going to MK on TG Day or Friday. The closest I plan to get to MK on those days are Whispering Canyon and 1900 Park Fare! Now we are going to brave it on Sat. I will make sure to take extra meds that day! ;)

But we really just didn't feel the need to be at the parks for EMH. We actually picked our MGM day on a day when there is no EMH or FANTASMIC! Epcot has morning house on one day we plan to go, but we don't plan to get there for them. lol We really just want to enjoy the dining and the experience. This is the first time in years we are not going with newbies. So, it will be nice to go at our pace. Do what we want to do. And not have to worry about anyone else.

I vote for the nap! :thumbsup2

But then again, if you are like me, you probably wouldn't sleep. Then you would be board out of your mind. I hurt my leg the day before yesterday, so I am stuck sitting on my butt for the next few days and I am going nuts. Hence, why I am a posting fool today! Nothing is on daytime TV. Facebook is all quiet. All I have to amuse me is the Dis! LOL

Well it looks as if they only changed the PM EMH at DHS and AK on the 8th and the 12th. . . Wonder why. . . We actually try to avoid EMH, so they are making it hard on us when they change it!!

I still find it odd that MK closes at 6:30 on the 9th and that DHS closes at 7:30 on the 4th. . . :confused3

Any official word on the OL start date???

I have heard the 8th, the 10th, and the 11th. . . The last time I called WDW they didn't have a clue if it would be any of those or even that week! :upsidedow

Well, i booked all our ADR's yesterday - with no glitches!! Gotta love that!! :)

We are doing the HDDR for Thanksgiving - it's our "traditional" TG meal.. ;)
Also, booked :
Ohana's for breakfast (dd LOVES this!)
Sci-Fi (again, a fav of dd)
Cape May buffet for dinner (DH's fav)
Chef Mickey's
Whispering Canyon Cafe --- never been here - i have it booked for breakfast & dinner, will keep one and cancel one -- any opinions??

And i am sure the day we do Epcot early,we will hit Beaches and Cream for lunch... YUM!

Congrats! :goodvibes

We went to the WCC in November for dinner. We thought the food was awful. The service was slow, it was VERY loud and crazy! The kids loved the craziness of the place and had a blast. So I'm glad we went. But based on the food we had, we won't be back anytime soon. So I would vote for trying breakfast!

I actually went to the Disney site looking for some official info on OL starting dates but nadda only the change in the calendar, perhaps OL will be starting on the 12th and that is the reason to have EMH that night :confused3 just a thought

Hi everyone! So excited I found this thread! We'll be there for our first trip to Disney World Nov. 7 through 13. We're staying at the AKL and I can't wait! I got a pin code and had initially booked Wilderness Lodge, but we made the switch when we added on a day. As soon as my daughter saw the photos of giraffes walking around outside the hotel rooms that was the end of the discussion in her mind!

I'll be there with my husband, daughter (5) and son (2). We decided on the QSDP to have all those extra snack credits for the F&W festival, but we do have a couple of ADRs:

Lunch at CRT 11/8
Breakfast at Tusker House 11/12

:welcome:

WOW! Ya'll are chatty today!!! I haven't looked to see what changes they have made...I am scared to keep checking!! LOL...I think I will wait til closer, and unless it is something drastic I will not be too worried about it...hopefully my week will be slower since it's not on TDay and it won't be too crazy!!!
QOTD: oohhh that's hard!!!! DDs is Casey's Corner...I love Rose & Crown (and Nine Dragons)...dh would say Nine Dragons...my boys will probably pick Garden Grill!
Ice Cream fave is Beaches & Cream!!

The Contemporary is #2 on my list but DH also does not care for it after going there to eat a few times, he also thinks it is too busy and nosey, He did suggest BLT for our current trip if we could not get our discount at AKV but we did so no BLT this year :)

You would think after so many trips to Disney (I have lived in Florida my whole life and been more times then I can remember. I have even marched in a few parades at MK!) that I would have at least been in the building by now, but alas this trip in November will be my first time even going inside. I may end up changing my mind at that point, but I doubt it due to the fact that it has always been a dream of mine. ;)

I just happened to notice there are changes on the November Calendars for DHS and DAK for the week I am going to be there (11/8-11/13) not sure about the other weeks and did not notice any changes for my week for MK or EP , Yet .........

The posted changes for DAK and DHS were for the EMH (N)
Looks like it is back to the drawing board for me as the change in DAK hours affects my weeks schedule

Ack! :scared1: That is during our trip too. Now I have to go look and figure out anything that needs replanning! Thanks for the FYI!

Welcome! :wave2: This is a great group, I am sure you will enjoy it here.

Good Morning!!:goodvibes Yippee to all the ladies who were up and getting what they wanted on the ressie line this morning!!
I am about to go get a haircut and take my vehicle in for some work...mercy it's hot here!! We are already in the 90s and no cloud coverage.....geez.. How long is summer?

Don't feel to bad, we hit our first 100 degree day over the weekend here in N. Florida. (I think someone told it me it was a record for this early in the year for our area, but don't hold me to that.) Add the humidity to that and it was pretty miserable. :sad2: Florida can be a awful place to live in the summer time, unless of course you are near one our beaches where you can get the breeze off the ocean.

Oh how I dread when our meteorologists started talking about'hitting the century mark" with a smile in their voice as they say it!!! DARN!! It's just misery, pure misery!!

Im right there with ya'! My bestest friend of 12 years (she was the first person I met when we moved 'here' when my DD was born) is moving to Ohio tomorrow morning . FB just makes me remember I can no longer be in denial about her leaving, so I will be lurking here more than usual for a little while :surfweb:. Now, If I can just figure out how to smuggle my friend in my luggage to WDW, all would be right with the world :cloud9:.

My left knee has been bothering me for a couple of months but I didn't think much of it, just tried to work through it with exercise and Advil. A couple of weeks ago my doctor ordered an x-ray which showed not much of anything but after taking prescription strength Naproxin and icing my knee as advised, the pain was getting worse. So...she sent me for an MRI last Friday and I got the results today. I have a torn meniscus and a Baker's cyst and now I have an appointment with an orthopedic surgeon next Wednesday. I NEED this to be all better by November! Sorry for whining, I just can't help it. :sad2:

That does stink! Hopefully you will have it all better by November, but if not try to look on the positive side and think about all the lines you will be able to skip because of having to ride around in a chair. :thumbsup2
