Hey everyone. Down at the beach for our last long weekend. School starts Wed. (Both happy and sad about that at the same time). We have 90 days today! I'm working on custom autograph books for the kids, and some journal stuff. And I keep going over our schedule in my head trying to make sure we have time for everythimg we want to do (I thought 9 days sounded great, now it seems too short!)

Hello friends!

summerlady is right, you all have been quite chatty this week! Finally caught up though.

Sheila, many :hug: to you. I'm so glad you felt comfortable enough to share your son's story with you. I hope you had a better day today.

All the back-to-school chatter has me excited, as this is our first year going through that! DD is starting preschool! The school cutoff in our area is Sept. 30, so for most preschools she would have needed to wait another year, but our church actually offers a 2yo class, so we signed her up! She'll go 9:15 to 2:00, five days a week. 25 hours a week to myself, whatever shall I do??? LOL :lmao: Our public schools started Aug 6, and most of the preschools have started as well, but DD doesn't start until Sept 7.

However this week she'll get to go back to gymnastics! She started it back in January, but since we were doing swim lessons this summer at the same facility decided to take a gym break. She's been asking about when she'll get to go back, but I haven't told her it's Wednesday yet. Can't wait to see her excitement! Then Thursday we'll have her preschool Open House to meet her teachers and classmates.

That's about all for now. Just gotta have a little happy dance that our countdown is now in the seventies! :woohoo:

Am I the only one who gets freaked out as the countdown gets smaller and smaller? Might be because I am in charge of every single thing, husband's share is getting into the passenger seat on the appointed day, and just get frantic at all that I have to do.

When that wonderful day comes and the car is loaded, house is cleaned and locked up, and I see the garage door come down, looking at it twice to make sure, and I pull out of the driveway I breathe a sigh of relief and relax,until Atlanta. :rotfl2:

I grin from ear to ear when I pass the Disney sign, coming in the backway. Life does not get better than that EXCEPT for when I am unpacked and over at MK getting on the monorail for our annual monorail tour of the Christmas decorations.:santa:

Sheila, I have been thinking of you and your story the past few days. It was so nice of you to share. Makes those of us who have difficult children appreciate our situation a bit more. May your days get better and the memories sweeter.:hug:

First off: a big :hug: for Sheila.

Cheese and crackers, you all have been busy posting this past week! I think I'm all caught up now. Great time at the beach although the humidity was wayyyyy up there and that's not my favorite thing. Rained all day last Wednesday while DD and DGD were there, we shopped and walked on the beach in the rain that day.

Did lots of bike riding and swimming and my left knee feels almost as good as new except for a little tightness now and then.

The My Disney Girl doll that I had ordered for DGD10's birthday this coming Tuesday arrived. She's going to absolutely love her and I'm sure that the doll will be coming with us in November. :) I got the blonde haired doll, she's dressed in little denim shorts with "Walt Disney World" on the pocket, matching blue denim shoes, a pink Mickey shirt, and a pink and black ear hat. The included accessories are a pink fanny-pack with WDW printed on it, a tiny princess autograph book, a lanyard with a Minnie pin on it. SO cute! I'm really excited to see her face when she opens it on her birthday.

So many of us November travelers, isn't that wonderful!

That doll is so cute, I collect dolls and have a couple of the Disney Barbi sized ones
Sheila - Thank you for sharing your son's story. I hope it helped to "talk" about him with us. I can't even begin to imagine your struggle, but I applaud you for your plans to let a balloon go up to him in heaven at Splash Mtn. I am quite sure I'll be looking for that balloon drifting upward the whole time I'm at MK. :flower3:

SummerLady, WAHkoMom, and Slightly Goofy- Thank you for all the hugs and kind words , we tried to stay busy this weekend but I have to tell you no matter where we go or what we do something pops up to remind us of our DS :littleangel:, we were in KMart and we passed a display of Sunny Delight one of my DS favorite things to drink from the time he was little, since Ddil went to NY to be with her mother and grandmother we babysat the dogs Trixie and Max- we bought Max for my son 3 years ago for his birthday, DH slept on the couch with the dogs Saturday Night, it is funny the things that you find comfort in.

`````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
Today marks 77 Days for me or 11 weeks, the time is just flying by so fast it seems , when I booked back in February it was 277 Days away, where did those 200 days go.
I picked up a 2 Hydro Flasks yesterday for the trip they have clamp do hickies to attach to your belt or whatever but I think they should keep the water cool , as a child I loved drinking out of those aluminum glasses the water always seemed so much more refreshing , hopeing that is how it will be with the flasks
sjs314, I am a grandmother so I have lived a bit and I can truly tell you that it is the small things in life that really matter. Those are the things that you carry with you through life and make life worth living. Loving the things that your beloved son loved makes you feel closer.
Hold close to whatever makes it a bit easier and one day it will truly be, never forgotten but many more smiles than tears.:love:
This doll is so adorable. We have it, too. And now each trip back to Disney we get a new princess/Minnie/Tink outfit for her. The Minnie Mouse outfit is the best. We have pics of my DD5 in her Minnie Mouse outfit with the Disney doll in her Minnie Mouse outfit at WDW with the real Minnie Mouse!!
The only 'problem' with the doll (like all dolls), is the hair. Once it gets played with a lot, the hair becomes a tangled mess.
Ha Ha, this made me smile! Yes, I get a little freaked out too. A couple weeks ago I made several lists. (I do love my lists!) One was packing, one was things to do, buy, make before the trip, and one was a grocery list of things to get at the SuperTarget on our first night in. Oh, and of course I have the spreadsheet made that has our agenda for each day of our trip, ressie #s etc. It makes me feel better/calmer to see it planned out!
We are getting sooooo close!!!
Hello fellow November Planners. I will be heading back to WDW for the second time this year Nov 13-18th. I will be spending the first day alone, and the next 3 days with my MIL and then the last 2 days solo! I cannot wait to see the castle lights, attend MVMCP (solo :confused:), and get a facial at the GF.
Oh no, you are not the only one freaking out. I just pushed my trip up 4 months. I had to fight off a bout of hyperventilation Saturday when it really sank in that we are less than 90 days out! I have a LOT of sewing to get done for this trip, and until last week I thought I had 6 months to do it. I have done customs for DD for every trip, so now it is an expected thing. I am seriously scrambling with that on top of all of the other "oh man, I need to get _____ done for the trip".
Do you know if they sell the doll outfits in WDW? I'd love to get the Minnie outfit for her while we're there.
I'd LOVE to see the pic of your DD with her doll and Minnie! Sounds adorable.
I agree about the hair...DGD has American Girl dolls and the hair is never the same after it get messed with the first time.
Where is everyone today? Well, now that its after midnight, I guess that would be yesterday. Busy making your lists?... or soccer practice chauffeur, back to school schedules, laundry, cleaning, or (insert one of the million chores we do during the week.):rotfl2: I have blown off all these and immersed myself in the wonderful world of ADRs, booking and cancelling, for our change in travel dates. Our new dates are November 27 though Dec 3 at WL. I refuse to reset my ticker though! :rotfl: I dont want to look like just started my countdown. Ive come too far! My husband just told me "you'll have a hard time being ready for Christmas now that we are going a week later." Oh no he didnt! Dont challenge an over-organized Dis'er that she wont make a deadline! Ill see that bet and raise you four tye-dyed Mickey shirts, three personalized pillowcases, two autograph books...and a partridge in a pear tree!:lmao::lmao::lmao:
All the above, minus anything Disney! Plus add in 2 trips to 2 different pharmacies to get my meds because all their register went down at the first after waiting 45 min! And field maintenance on a broken mower. Yesterday was NOT a good day. Hopefully today is better or I am going to climb back into my bed and not come out till Sunday!
We're too busy here with back to school to worry too much about Disney this week. Last night was DS11 open house and today is DS6 meet the teacher. I am on the PTA so I have to sell spirit wear today also. They are both back to school tomorrow, so I should be able to get a lot of work done.
I am having trouble finding them matching polo shirts for the trip (I have lots of t shirts, but want a couple of nicer shirts, esp. for Thanksgiving dinner). May have to look online. I want short sleeve, so they probably won't be around much longer.
Hope everyone has a good day!
Mousescrapper -- wow!! You are amazing with that To Do list!! I can't wait to see all the crafts along the way!
My next to do list item is to add some more pages to my DD5's Autograph book, prepare the goodie bags for the drive down and update our schedule.
SlightlyGoofy -- yes, last week when I was down to less than 3 months, it started to hit me. I looked at all the things between now and then (Labor Day, 1st day of Kindergarten, Fall festivals, Hayrides, Consignment sales, Halloween parties and decorating, Fall decorating, Christmas shopping...), I started to realize, there really isn't that many days to get ready! ACK!:scared1:
So I worked on our clothing this weekend! yep, I have our clothes already picked out for the trip:thumbsup2 I like to coordinate colors so that almost any top will match any pant, etc. This trip's colors are red, white and black. I picked both long and short sleeve, shorts, cropped pants, skirts and leggings. Now I'll just wait until closer to the trip to see if I need to add/subtract based on really warm or cold temperatures.
Yes, all the major stores in each park sell the doll's outfit, and Once Upon a Toy and World of Disney. In July we got a 20% off coupon on our CS receipt so used that to get the Tinkerbell outfit. WoD seems to have the largest selection. We now have Minnie Mouse and Belle outfits. Tink will be for Christmas.
Try Lands' End. I just ordered my DH a black Tall t-shirt last night and saw they have kids' polos shirts. The coupon I had expired last night but was 25% off regular price + free shipping.
I've just become a believer in Lands' End this year. One of my skorts I bought there had a tear in the velcro pocket. I told them, they gave me a brand new skort for free and then I returned the damaged one to Sears. No questions asked.
With customer service like that, I'll use LE more often!
If you happen to be driving by this way and go by the soccer fields at Walker Machinery and see a lawn mower on fire in the middle of the field, that means at some point I decided to burn it to the ground! There are only 2 teams on the field this season. Since I don't work and the girls go to school almost beside the field, I decided to vol to cut the grass every week if the other team lined it. Now I am wishing I hadn't. That mower is horrible! And don't get me going on the goose poop....
I really do have a to do list for Disney already. I am just not sure where it went. Maybe I need to make a new to do list that includes finding my old to do list or making a new one? LOL We did put some clothes in the suitcase this weekend. I love end of summer sales! We basically only have to pack cool weather clothes now!
88 days and counting down..We are so excited!!! I'v kinda started a list but probably not near as ready as some of you guys are..I do have a few questions..We will be there the entire week of Thanksgiving..Will the weather be cool or still be warm?? Im wondering what kind of clothes to pack..LOL
