I understand perfectly what you mean...my DS is also autistic. We have to fly nonstop as well.

Well, I've got good park news and bad park news. The bad news is we're all going to miss "Storytime with Belle" at MK...it's going away! The good news is we'll be there after the new character interaction opens! It's going to be characters from the new movie "Tangled," a spin of the story of Rapunzel.

I love figuring out the shirts we are going to wear each day...

I like to have a theme for each day...of course we have some repeat days too...but while I can still get my 4 kids and DH to do a few days of matchy shirts...it's so fun! I have just about all the shirts pulled to the side in my room

I am all for making lists of what you are going to wear etc. etc. So what if the weather or times and dates change that is just one more opportunity to make more lists and anything that keeps us thinking Disney is a good thing.

When we went to WDW last month, I tried something new -- uber clothing planning ... and it worked for us!

I used 2 gallon bags and had one bag for AM and one bag for PM clothes. I put all of DD1 and DD5's clothes in it, plus my shirt and undies/socks and my DH's shirt for that time. (I kept separate bag for my bra and shorts). Each bag was labeled for date, AM and PM and any special accessories or details that didn't fit in the bag (i.e., costumes for girls).

So each day we just picked a bag and got dressed. I had planned out each of our 13 days (AM and PM) so had 26 total outfits (7 tops, 5 shorts each). We had a W/D in our room so could do laundry easily every other day.

Believe me -- in the months before the trip most folks thought I was crazy (even I questioned if I went overboard ) but when we were on the trip, it was so nice to have everything organized in one bag, we wore all our clothes and our pictures look so much better since we are coordinated. I will continue to do this as long as I can -- I recognize my oldest girl won't let me do this much longer!!

It definitely takes coordination of clothes ahead of time (I looked far and wide for a hot pink t-shirt for my DH!). Thankfully, DH is cooperative, too!

Anyone else do this? Say I'm not the only clothes nut out there?!?

I recognize for November the weather will be more tricky than July, so I'll definitely have more back-up outfits (jacket, pants).

I miss one day and now I am pages behind. Unfortunately I am way behind on lots of other things too and do not have time to read it all.

I see I have competition as the Official Disney Grandma. Humph! I carry a bag of small prizes to give to the children I meet in the parks and I save parade seats for families with children so that they can enjoy a couple of more attractions. As my 'readers' will tell you, "The only thing that The Reading Lady likes more than books is children". I am taking about a dozen three year olds to an activity center next Monday. I provide the funds and they provide the entertainment.

If you stay at the same resort as I do I will gladly read to any and all children poolside. My dream job would be Fairy Godmother who goes in and stays with the children while their parents go out for the evening and watch Disney movies and read to them. Sheer heaven!

We're looking for a "Disney Grandma" too. I hate that my kids miss out on that experience as well. I always see families all traveling together with grandparents and wish that could be us. My inlaws have both passed away, my father's not in the picture, and traveling with my mother is no longer an option Disney should rent people like you out! What a blessing it would be to so many of us You sound perfect for a Fairy Godmother!

Why do you have separate AM and PM outfits for every single day? I get it for the toddler? But everyone else? I do not coordinate outfits and select for each day because I choose my outfit by the weather and temps expected that day. Kinda have to do that on the fly. I also have several tops for each pair of shorts. I certainly don't have THAT many bras! This trip will be our longest, but alas... the one without the villa and its nice washer/dryer. I'm very worried about doing without it!

I was wondering the same thing , I guess I will get up for 6am and try online and if it is not there then call at 7am since DH said last night he wants to try them out this trip, I haven't seen anything official about being able to book it online

Why do you have separate AM and PM outfits for every single day? I get it for the toddler? But everyone else?

Some people like to change clothes for dinner. I know that after being in a park all day, whether I've gotten all hot and sweaty or not, I like to take a shower and put on a fresh set of clothes to perk myself up.

I do coordinating shirts for my 2 boys (mostly because I like the way they look in pics). But I don't really pick which will be for each day until we get there. Also, November is tricky- we were there Thanksgiving 2 years ago and had a few days of shorts and a few in jeans and there were a couple of nights which were very chilly (even in jeans and jackets we were cold!) Hopefully this year will be a little more consistant (but I would be prepared).

I usually have to put our summer clothes up & get our winter clothes out before Thanksgiving here. So going to Fl in November is going to make for a little mess around here for a few weeks I bet.

I'm hoping to taking capris (or even shorts) and one or two pair of jean for our week. So I can't even begin to consider what I'll pack yet.

Well, for myself it's not hard to figure out seeing as how I've lost 25lbs this past year I don't have many clothes that actually fit, even going to Hawaii I only took 3 pair of shorts for a week as that is what I have that fits & I'm cheap and haven't bought alot. I'm sure I'll have to buy some jeans this fall/winter.

I used to pack the kids outfits in the gallon ziplock bags and label them for each day according to the parks and so on. But they are getting a little big for that now! They do still like to wear their POTC shirts on the same day - MK, and Star Wars shirts on the same day - DHS, and things like that.

I do like to change if we've been in the park all day and go back to the resort before going to dinner. I plan to do that a lot this trip with staying at the BWI, we will likely go back to the resort mid day and shower & change before heading out to dinner on the BW or Epcot.

So I'll probably need lots of clothes this trip! Luckily I am the only girl, so there's lot of space for all my stuff. Oh and shoes - lots of shoes!!!

Last year I was mostly packed weeks in advance, but waited until the last minute to make the final decisions on clothes after checking the weather. I took mostly shorts, a skirt, a few capri's, and one pair of jeans.

So true!!! I love watching their faces..you can see them struggling along, then the word clicks and they just relax...then they try to speed up because they are so ecxited...until they hit the new hard word...then the struggle!!! LOL it's sooo sweet!!! DD is really getting faster now...I remember the boys going thru the 'struggle' stage!!! How I miss it!! They were so little!!!! Well...I say little!!! They thought they were big!!!! We have books that my dd reads only at night...separate from our school day books...she has been looking forward to it...before (in the major sound-it-out-stage) I didn't make her read before bed because she got so aggravated and keyed-up....now it's "mommy...where's my book? We gotta READ our story!" I love it!

It's a lot easier to have it planned out. Plus it makes the suitcase packing a little smoother...for me, having at least underwear in baggies, and socks in baggies the TSA isn't pawing thru their stuff! And if the outfits are in bags, it's sooo much easier in the morning to just grab a bag and get out of the hotel...especially if you are hitting RD. I guess it's just all about trying to get the most out of your Disney day!
I don't match parks per day. I watch the weather obsessively until we go...the last few trips, Accuweather has been the most Accurate!! (appropriate name, huh?!)....I pack each outfit by weather...like, my boys for an 8 night trip, will get 4 or 5 shorts..windpants...and the jeans they are wearing down on the plane. Then about 8 shirts..some tees a couple of long sleeves and a light jacket.....that was for Dec and Jan trips. This time, I am not sure...it's gonna be hotter than our last few trips. When we went in Nov the last time, it was t-shirts and shorts all day...then one night jeans and a light jacket.
I have seen some really cute Disney shirts that my oldest son said he WOULD wear!!! so..we will hopefully have at least one day of matchy!!!

This will be our first trip to Disney during the Christmas season and we are SO excited!

We always have 2 outfits per day at minimum. This time, we will have 3. We have several Signature Dinners, so we will need an outfit just for those. I pack a entire suitcase just with shoes -mine only! Not sure I will need so many this trip, but FL is pretty much always sandal weather, so maybe I will? This trip I am planning alot of capris, short sleeves and hoodies for me and the girls. I will throw in some shorts, jeans, tanks and dresses/skirts. DH says he is only wearing shorts, polos, hoodies and 1 pair of sneakers the entire time. He said no jeans and no sandals. We shall see....

And, since when did Coral Reef become such a hard to get ADR? For the last few years, it has always been available pretty much anytime we checked. The girls said they would rather have CR then Tutto, but I can't get it. I did move Tutto till later. Gonna keep trying to for CR. I guess the Thanksgiving travelers coming in is probably making it harder too.

You all have been pretty chatty while I was off with Daniel at the NY State Jr. Golf Championships..... it was a great three day event... Dan stuggled a little on the first day but came back strong on the second day... he had a great time... made great memories!!!

Now its time to get back to work!!! and yet I am here on the Disboards....

I have a somewhat stupid question but since we are sorta on the subject of packing , Is is acceptable to wear white in November at WDW? I keep thinking of the old saying about no white after Labor Day and I am just wondering now since the skirt I was planning on taking is white and one of the new pairs of shorts I picked up is white

I have visited in Oct, Jan and I know I wore white in March last year but Nov just seems like a no no for white, I guess since I come from a Northern State

Oh good news!! Good news!!! I haveto share with y'all!!!!! as you all know, I have been checking Continental multiple times a day....well at 7:30 it was still at $291 RT....we usually only see them drop down to $220-230 or so from Houston to Orlando...well, I just checked and it's at $198!!!!! Of course,..that's the 7:30 a.m., or 4 and 7 o'clock p.m. flights. Dh said..yeah-we can do 7:30. He is going to call as soon as he gets back to his office this afternoon!!!! Now...the only glitch will be if they let us use it due to our rewards points.They have always in the past...so hopefully there is not a minimal $$ amount...if so, we will use even less points than what we thought!!! and ....all my Nov friends can breath a sigh of relief that our tickets will be secure!!!!! WOOO HOOOO!! I will let you know, as soon as I know!!!LOL
The next price up was $218 for a 9 o'clock flight...which that was the one I was planning to take....so, either way, it's good!!! I was so thankful that I happened to go to the website!!!

WOW... congrats... that's great price... I am still hoping that our Nov flights will go down in price... and I am looking for a great deal for December when I have to go get Maggie... haven't found any one way flights under $175 yet...

We always take an early am flight and honestly I think you don't notice being tired since your in WDW earlier and the excitement takes over instead of fatigue, well not with my DH but he is always tired

I subcribed to Touring Plans tonight since I became curious seeing how so many people see to use them or TGM anyhow looking at the crowd calendars I started thinking maybe I should switch around a couple of our days too but I hate to think of trying to get ADR's if I did change plans now

I used to do something similiar... I would put everything in little bundles then just tie them with string like a little package... when I pack now I lay out all my clothes by outfit ... but then I separate them and roll the clothes... pants and shorts on the bottom ... shirts on the top

It's a lot easier to have it planned out. Plus it makes the suitcase packing a little smoother...for me, having at least underwear in baggies, and socks in baggies the TSA isn't pawing thru their stuff! And if the outfits are in bags, it's sooo much easier in the morning to just grab a bag and get out of the hotel...especially if you are hitting RD. I guess it's just all about trying to get the most out of your Disney day!

Good luck to your DD tomorrow! My DS11 is giving me a heck of a time about getting his braces. Wants nothing to do with it.

I have a friend whose child doesn't want braces. She took her daughter twice to the orthodontist and he finally told her not to force it. He said that when she is ready she will get it done even if that means as an adult.

Like others said, we wear one outfit in the morning and then go back to the room for swim/nap/rest and then put another outfit on. Between the weather (rain means clothes are still wet and any type of sun means we are hot and sticky) and accidents (dripping food or more likely my kids' sticky hands on my top), we generally need a new set of clothes. I just feel better in fresh clothes which makes me more happy and more patient!

Now, if we stay in the park all day, then certainly we only need one outfit.

I also have a complete spare outfit for both girls with us in the stroller and an extra top for myself, too. For November, we will add a jacket, hat, small blanket and leggings in the stroller.

We went last November and found that shorts and t-shirts were perfect for the daytime (a jacket if we did RD). But at night we definitely needed a jacket and pants and a small blanket for the girls in the stroller was helpful, too.

And yes, I was washing undies, socks and bras every other day...I didn't pack (or have) enough for a new one each day.

As for weather, I pack 1-2 weeks in advance based on projections and keep checking each day until we leave. Then I'll make small changes to the bags, if needed, but more likely just add a new bag with additional "cold wear".

Remember my girls are only 1 and 5 years old, so this works pretty easily for us. Also, helps me remember what clothes they are wearing (if I forgot to take a pic that day), in case they get lost. I just look at myself and know -- oh, today they are wearing fuschia.

It's definitely not for everyone

oh, and if you don't pack your stuff in bags, I suggest you at least do this! You can get soooo much more in your suitcase (but watch for weight limits if you fly!)

That is kind of what I am leaning towards with my DS at this point. It is totally cosmetic, none of it is medically necessary. I can't see forcing him when he's not ready. It's not like he can't get them later.

When my youngest DS's dentist suggested braces I did some research then on his next visit asked again how much his bite was off since I had read unless it was a certain percentage it was not medically necessary, I forget now what the percentage was when braces are warrented but my son's bite was not off that much so we opted to wait. I think braces has become a "big" business JMHO
