Sorry to go a little off topic but does anyone know what the super mysterious run Disney souvenir is that you get when you book with them?

Also are the moisture wicking panties good minus that one incident? I feel really uncomfortable going commando. Heck it took me years to even feel comfortable in a thong. There's my tmi quotient for the day haha I know you all wanted to know what underwear I'm wearing today!

Fortunately my college has a fantastic gym that is included in my fees. I much prefer running outside, but at least I have the option. The downside? The indoor track is only 1/7 mile. It seems like you'd get dizzy doing distance running. :lmao: And the treadmills have a 30 min limit, so I'd have to switch treadmaills every 30 mins. :lmao:

I can run at my school for as long as I want as long as the football is not in the weight room but then it smells like high school football players  and there is no TV though it does have AC!

If that doesn't get me a tag I don't know what will :lmao:

:banana::banana::banana:

About Body Glide... did I get a malfunctioning stick? When I apply, it makes my skin sticker, no "gliding" there at all. Maybe it's no match for FL humidity?! IDK, but I've had better luck with a little Vaseline.

Body glide does get white and sticky for me as well. I find that while I like Vaseline better however for really long distances, body glide works better. I'm talking 9, 10 or more miles.

Those of you that have done this race before, are most of the people in costumes dressed as Princesses? I'm leaning towards Villianess.

Also, does anyone know which shoes brands sell mis-matched pairs? I've been making it work, but if I'm going to be doing a half, I really need to get shoes that fit both feet. My feet are an entire size different. :sad2:

Hello Princesses! I have signed up, and decided not to lurk any more! I am in Toronto and this will be my seventh Half (the Scotiabank will be half number six). It will be two days before my 40th! My DH and two DDs (ages 7 and 5) and our friends, another family of four, will be doing a split stay at AoA LM and Beach Club.

Looking forward to running chatter!

Question... Any recommendations on a good camera? Something small enough to fit in my running skirt pocket but fast enough to get pictures "on the fly".

Markhamot, we are planning a Canadian Princess meet-up at the Toronto Women's 5/10K next month if you want to join us!

There are a quite a few Toronto area princesses! We are planning on the FB group. :)

Hi! My aunt and I are talking about doing the Princess this year and I hope to have an answer from her by this weekend. :goodvibes

I used to do sprint triathlons and 5 + 10K runs. I loved it. Then I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and there are days when it's a struggle just to get out of bed. I'm back working out with a trainer and I am pretty confident that if I keep training, I can walk a half marathon. Also, my aunt is coming off of a leg injury and feels similarly - she could race-walk, but probably not run the course.

Is this allowed? If so, I think we're both in. Yay!

Totally allowed, princess! I walked it in 2011. Tons of walkers.

I haven't done a RunDisney half but from what I have heard, as long as you keep up the pace requirement, you can run, walk or skip if you want. I will probably do just as much walking as I do running.

Now I have a question- what do you use to keep your "stuff" in on the course? I know that I will have my iphone for music and will have an armband for that but what if I wanted a small camera? I'm just not sure what to use....

If you don't wear a hydration belt with pouches, try googling Spi Belt. They look small, but you can fit a lot in there and they seem to be very popular...I've seen them sold at most expos as well. I wore one for the Expedition Everest Challenge a few months ago to carry my camera and it worked out great!

Just had my worst 3 mile walk/run in a long time. I've been working out on either the treadmill or the NuStep. Today I took to the road. Not so good....

Bad runs happen. The good news is that you got it over for the week. :thumbsup2 You can only have great runs from here on out, right?

I've used a small Amphipod waist bag in the past and it worked well until the little pully-thing broke off the zipper. I replaced it with a Spi Belt and LOVE it! :thumbsup2 I recently stuffed 7 Shot Blocks in a baggie, a set of house keys, lip balm and a credit card in there and probably could have still fit in a small camera!

 Bad runs suck, but they're often followed by really, really good runs, so there's that!

I have the Nikon CoolPix and LOVE IT. Small and easy to carry!

100% allowed as long as you can maintain the 16 minute/mile pace requirement (or stay ahead of the balloon lady)! I think it is great you are doing it!

I have something like the Spi-Belt. LOVE IT

Bad runs happen! It is OK, just means the next one will be better!
