Oh, princesses, REALLY looking forward to the cooler weather. I ran once in 3 weeks (and that was only b/c it was a race for which I was paid) and now I feel like I am a complete beginner again! I started out the last 2 runs at 2 miles and came home DRIPPING. Humidity really does suck - as in, sucks the life right out of you! Am cruising on the Dream soon and am actually looking forward to running on a treadmill, looking out over the ocean!

To all you who are just beginning your training outside, don't let the summer heat / humidity make you think that this is too hard for you. Hang in there, especially if you live in a humid place, and you will see a HUGE difference in your performance come fall! :hippie:

First run in months, went way better than I expected. I did 2 miles walk/run at a 13 min mile pace. Still a long way from 13 miles, but I'll get there. :thumbsup2 The realization that people don't all run the entire 13 miles was a HUGE confidence booster. It makes it seem much more attainable. Especially since I won't be running with high temps and ridiculous humidity in the actual race. I was only high 70s when I headed out this morning, but it was so humid. I broke a sweat just walking to my car. :rolleyes2

Now I have a question- what do you use to keep your "stuff" in on the course? I know that I will have my iphone for music and will have an armband for that but what if I wanted a small camera? I'm just not sure what to use....

I also have a Spibelt and they really do fit a ton of stuff in them - and they come in a ton of colors- you can coordinate to your outfit for race day! I usually carry my phone, ID, key and some money in mine. I don't like to put my camera in too just because I worry that if I'm taking it in and out I might drop some of the other stuff accidently. You could get two belts (they are relatively cheap). I also carry a Nathan Quick Shot Plus hand held water flask and that has a pocket that is big enough for my camera (sony cyber-shot). there is also the Nathan Quick Draw thermal which has a bigger water bottle, but still has a good size pocket.

***I tried to post links to the spibelt and flasks, but I don't have enough posts to have that privilege yet! You'll have to google it!"

I'm going to get back to running tonight. I took yesterday off, it was my scheduled off day but I have been having major TMJ issues and was in bed before 8 pm. I'm hoping it's not an issue tonight. On Sunday night I did do my farthest distance yet, 4.1 miles. I was very proud of myself.

I ended up booking through the regular Disney line. We priced AOA suites and LM rooms. Ended with 2 LM rooms.

I also figured that if there was a chance of any discounts coming out (room only or AP discounts) I would be able to apply them to my Disney room, and not to the IRUN rooms, so I went this route. 2 days later, the AAA discounts were added and I ended up with 10% off my regular Disney room.

Thank you so much for mentioning AAA!! I was just going to book my room on the Disney website but they don't mention AAA discounts there and it never occurred to me until you mentioned it. I called Disney yesterday and booked my room at AOA (LM room) and saved just over $80 with the AAA discount. YAY!!:yay:

Now to start looking at airfares.

:rotfl: Wow, totally up front! Do you offer your room companionship to everyone you meet? ;)

Only the hot ones I meet on the interwebz, baby.

You are welcome! Glad it could help. I got a good deal on AAA this year and have already more than made up for the cost of membership with hotel discounts.

I am crazy (yes, 100% nuts). DH and I were talking and after the race and then Monday before our flight we will be at the MK. We are at BC for the first two nights and then we are moving to BLT after the race. I know it is going to be rough but it will make life easier for our last day at Disney.

So for the experts? What time did you get back to your resort after the race last year (or in previous years)?

Hi Everyone,
Just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Laural (Lauraldawn) and I'm soooo excited to be doing the Princess Half.
It will be my first half. I've been running for a few years, but I made some lifestyle changes over the past year and it's made a huge difference in my running. I just did my first 10k - and I can't wait to keep going!
I live in the Toronto area - so if there are any Toronto runners, I'd love to know!
Looking forward to meeting all of you here.
I'm soooo excited about all of this :)

Hi there! Are you running the Toronto Women's 10K next month? If so, we have a little Princess meet-up in the works for the After Party. So far, there are 5 of us Canadian Princesses at that race. It would be great to meet you as well. We are planning in the Facebook group, but I am on here too so happy to fill you in if you want more details!

I just started running (again) a year ago and it has made a huge difference in my life too. I have done a 5k, 8k and 2 10k races so far - another one this weekend! I love to race!

Hey costume seekers.... Costco put out some cute costumes this week here in the ATL that is you aren't small, have the workings of fabric to put something together for $18....oh and the Rapunzel and Merida costumes included the wig! They also had Cindy, Snow, and Ariel at my store.

funny thing 2 years ago we gave a disboards princess a ride to the start from the Swan and she was saying her kids were questioning her taking a ride from "strangers" that she met on the internet :rotfl:

Oohh! I'll have to find an excuse to get over to Costco. I want to do Rapunzel for PHM. Maybe I can pull apart a dress to make the top.

haha thats what I was planning on doing! Although I'm still debating on if I should be Merida (as my friends joke about how I am secretly her and the movie is based off of my life)... I already bought a purple top but thats not a definite or anything

Anyone wanna pick for me? Who thinks I should be Merida, and who thinks I should be Rapunzel! ;)

I was leaning towards Merida b/c she is such an awesome character- but then I realized I couldn't do Merida without that head of hair, and I really don't want to run in a wig! So my vote is Merida!

I thought about Merida - any excuse to dye my hair works for me ;) - but I figure there will be a billion Meridas. For now, I've narrowed it down to: Belle in her blue dress, Rapunzel (prob still very popular, but I have ideas for the costume), Megara (too obscure?), Giselle, or Maleficent.

I just left Costco and I don't think mine has them yet but since I love Costco, I have a reason to keep going back to check!

yeah the hair was a big issue. I mentioned this a bunch of pages ago, but I gots the scottish stick straight red hair ... and not long blonde luxurious hair, so I think thats whats swaying me, although I can't get those AWESOME curls I can actually look like merida, instead of being a girl in a costume

thanks guys! you're all so awesome! If you see a redheaded merida running around with a friend who right now is going as jasmine... its me!!!
