WsPrincess said:Question of the night: What time do you go to bed before the race and how in the world did you fall asleep early? I was just thinking and if I need to get up at 2:30 to get ready, if I go to bed at 10 and fall right asleep that is only 4.5 hours. How did you do it?
I make sure to get up pretty early the day before the race so that I'll be sleepy earlier that evening. It also helps that I usually go to bed pretty early, and get up pretty early, on a daily basis, so it's not super foreign to my body. I plan an early dinner and aim to at least be in bed by 8-8:30...maybe not asleep by then, but at least in bed in a dark room watching a little tv and unwinding until I finally doze off. Sure, getting up at 2:30 for a race is still going to cause me to loose a couple of hours of sleep from the norm, but the race day excitement pushes me through and I don't notice it so much....until about 9pm after the race....then I just get delirious from the exhaustion of a day of racing and park touring. My boyfriend says its entertaining to watch
