lexynjoesmom said:I've been reading through this thread but it will take ew days to get through all of it. I had surgery on both feet in December and made it my goal to run the Princess 1/2. Hubby said he would do it with me. So after a few issues with getting started, we are in. I signed us up yesterday and I also signed us up for a local 5K that is in September. We haven't been to Disney since 1990 when our kids were babies. Now they are grown up and it will only be DH and me going. I am a little nervous but I have walked every day this week except today (used the eliptical instead). I was having some foot pain and wanted to give my feet a little rest.
We are both excited about this challenge and I figure I will be in better shape at 43 (though I will turn 44 the weekend of the race) than I was at 23. Looking forward to getting to know all of you.

There is a new machine at my gym that I love. It's called NuStep. It's a recumbent elliptical machine. It's basically an elliptical that you sit on. You get the same type of work out at standing but less impact. It's great for me since one of the complications from my surgery was drop foot. There are days when my foot still drags and causes me pain do treadmill on those days are not good. Not trying to sound like a commercial for them but I do love it. They used it in Biggest Loser and Extreme Makeover Weight Loss.
