heard on the radio today that you can have updates sent to you on your cell phone...another way to feed the addiction. :rotfl:

Thanks...I love the pic from the crib. I found him that way this AM and had to go back downstairs to get the camera and my cell phone. Told him to stay that way until mommy got back so she can take your picture. Apparently he listens!:rotfl:

Hey hey hey now....don't be a hater just because you can't keep your addictions under control, Nicole.....Some of use can control our facebook time..try to limit your self to 22 hours a day.....:rolleyes1 :rotfl: :flower3:

LOVE YA!!!!!!!!!!!!

In other news Sam & Zoe like Cheddar Rice Cakes..YAY!! A bread/grain item to add to teh list of things they will eat!

Ash, good luck on the test! Glad you found me on Facebook... :)

Facebook is addicting! I'm like you, Nicole, I have to set limits for myself or I'd be on there all day.

DH refuses to sign up, but his friends have friended me and they keep sending me messages to pass on to DH. The messages are usually things like "hey, when are you going to stop hiding behind your wife and get your own account?" :lmao:

Meredith, I'll have to try the cheddar rice cakes with Owen. He doesn't like plain rice cakes (can't say I blame him), but he's a big cheese fan, so maybe that would work. Right now he's into crackers and Trader Joe's Ginger Cats. Oh, and pot stickers. He'll eat those by the dozen. I can't eat a pot sticker in front of him anymore because he will yell if I don't share mine with him. DH calls it my mommy weight loss plan - Owen makes me share all of my food with him so I never get to eat an entire meal! :rotfl: I have lost 3lbs in the last couple weeks, so maybe it's working.

And have fun with the sale this weekend! At the sale last weekend here, I sold almost all of my 12m and up stuff, but still have a lot of the smaller sized clothes left. I think I'll donate most of what's left.

Caleb is such a cutie! I love the picture with his feet up, too! And the chef hat is funny. I'd love to find a little chef hat for Owen. Dh cooks so much, and he has a chef hat and coat, so it would be cute for Owen to have one, too.

Christina, congrats to your friend and his gf! I hear you on the jealousy thing. It was so hard when we were TTC and it seemed like it was so easy for everyone around me but it felt like it took us forever to get pregnant.

Well, our little snot bucket is as boogery as ever, but still in a great mood. He continues to find new stuff to get into and new ways to make a mess despite all of our attempts at babyproofing. The boy is too curious for his own good!

Right now he's into crackers and Trader Joe's Ginger Cats.

Bethany -- those Trader Joe cat cookies are the best -- we love the ginger and the chocolate ones too - Izzy is a big into the chocolate! We also love the mini chocolate chips. Trader Joe's is the best place ever. Have you tried their giant vats of yogurt (strawberry is good and they have a vanilla/bannana one that I like too - Izzy eats those for dessert).

Sorry to hear Owen is so boggery/snotty today.

-Nicole

I am so jealous that you guys have a Trader Joes. I want one!!!

Those pictures of Caleb are soo cute. It does fly by ... I can't wait to have a little baby again. My "Baby" just took a container of yogurt and dumped it on his tummy. Nice huh?

He was in the dryer last night. Nice as well ...

I have had a productive morning. I made an appointment with my OB for early April for a fertility consultation. I will have 6 solid charts of TTC #2 so I hope he will be open to start testing to make sure hormone levels are ok and stuff. I also went to YMCA and fixed my debit card issue, I never updated with them once DS lost mine a few weeks ago, and upped our membership to a family membership AND signed DS up for swimming lessons that start next week. I am pretty excited for that! It was only $20/month extra for the family membership and the swim lessons are $50 vs. $170 if I didn't upgrade to the family membership. Now maybe DH will go.

Bethany: I bought the chef's apron and hat at toys'r'us at christmas time.

Here is something similiar. THe brand I bought was from betty crocker and i think it was 6.99 but I bought it at the store. but this one is disney cars.

Thanks!! Maybe for father's day I can get a little apron and hat for Owen to wear as a surprise for DH. :)

Trader Joe's is our favorite! :woohoo: We get their mediterranean style yogurt and add in fresh or frozen fruit (also purchased at TJ's) and it's so yummy! Owen loves the thicker yogurt. They also have a cheese-style yogurt that he likes. DH just bought me some dark chocolate covered pretzel thins as a treat and I had to put the bag up on a high shelf so I wouldn't scarf the whole thing in one sitting!

The only bummer with TJ's is they discontinue products on a regular basis, so sometimes we get hooked on something only to have it disappear. They used to have these Thai curry tuna pouches that I loved - made for a great quick lunch to toss over some leftover rice - and those are gone. :sad1: I still crave that spicy tuna for lunch sometimes, but I'm too lazy to make it from scratch! ;)

I wish we had a Trader Joes here! I visit the one in Cary when I go to my Mom's in Raleigh! We just go a Fresh Market like 2 years ago and I would also love to see a Whole Foods here!

:rotfl2: OMG, those pictures are hysterical!!! :lmao: How on earth did he decide to climb into the dryer? That's so funny! I'm crying I'm laughing so hard! What a cutie, and what a nut!

And hooray for a productive morning. Good luck with your dr. appt in a few weeks. I hope he's responsive and starts with testing for you!

The YMCA sounds like a great deal! How fun to have swimming lessons!

DH grew up with a swimming pool, and now he's being all nostalgic and "how will my boy learn to swim without a swimming pool" :snooty: I keep telling him that he'll learn like the rest of us underpriviledged riff-raff who grew up without a pool in our backyards and went to swimming lessons at the Y or community pools. I'm glad we don't have a pool - I'd be too freaked out about safety issues, not to mention the hassle of cleaning it - but DH has turned all gloomy about how Owen won't be able to swim every single day. Good grief, it's not like we don't live within a mile of 3 different community pools, and DMIL's townhouse complex has a pool, so the child will hardly be deprived of opportunities to go swimming. It's just a little farther to get there than right out the back door. I just laugh at DH and tell him "welcome to the middle class, dear!" Can you tell that DH and I grew up with different economic realities? ;) :rotfl:

I'm sorry...I had to laugh...then I thought thats not good. The one good thing about our new washer and dryer is that it has a lock button on it...well until Caleb can reach and it and turn it off but by then he should know better!

I have no idea why he climbed in the dryer. He loves sticking his head inside and 'helping' me with the clothes.

Yesterday he wanted nothing to do with his bedtime routine of "Going peepee on the potty" and instead opened the door from his bathroom to the kitchen and ran into the laundry room. Typically he can't get to the laundry room but he got around the child proof bathroom lock!!

Yes, he is nekkid in those pictures!

when he hears Wheel come on, he runs it, stands in front of the TV, claps like crazy, and plops down to watch it.

How funny! Alex loves to watch Ellen and starts clapping and dancing when that comes on, and yells, "Ellen! Ellen on, mommy look! Ellen!"

And when Handy Manny comes on, she starts saying, "No Manny! No Manny!" :lmao:

Alex does this when any show comes on that he doesn't feel like watching at that moment, even if he normally likes the show. Then he runs up to the tv and turns it off.

On the new-baby topic...I often get worried how Brady will act whenever we have #2.... Then I start to get sad that I won't have the same amount of time to spend with the new baby, doing all the things I have been able to do with Brady.

I feel the same way when I start thinking about TTC #2, which I do more and more often lately.

Bethany - how cute on the Bollywood dancing! Yuck on the boogers, and Alex always seem to be extra mischieveous and destructive when he is just a little sick like that. What is up with that? And I am on the same diet. :goodvibes Alex won't eat half the food I put in front of him, but he will eat almost anything off my plate. Strange little boy. Sometimes I've started hiding things I eat from him (mostly desserts) if he's already had something sweet for the day and I don't want him to have another.

Nicole - sorry about the rough night with Izzy, I hope she doesn't repeat that!

Kreile - that's good that Caleb only has a cold, hopefully the drops work. Alex has always woken up in a different position than I put him down in. Only recently, like the last 2-3 months has he consistently still been sleeping in the same position during the night when I go check on him. And I do go take pics of him sleeping all the time b/c he just looks so darn cute and angelic, and the flash almost never wakes him. I have a whole album of him sleeping on facebook! :rotfl: Oh, and I didn't know you could sent pics from your phone directly to photobucket either, I was doing the same thing as you!

DMickey - Great pic of Alexander in the dryer - too funny! :lmao: I know just how you feel about the gf being pregnant. When DH & I first started ttc, I was on a business trip in Wisconsin, during what I thought was probably O time, so I was upset as it was at missing the chance to ttc. Then DH called on the last day and told me that his little brother's 16 year old girlfriend was pregnant. I started bawling in the car for most of the ride back to IL, luckily I was alone on that trip. The funny part now is that I didn't know it at the time, but I was pregnant. DH & I BD'd the day before I left for the trip, which was CD10, but apparently that did it! May also explain the crying during the ride home and some weird food cravings during the trip. I couldn't find anything I wanted for dinner one night so I had an M&M McFlurry! :lmao:

Ash - Hi, I see your request in my e-mail, but can't respond until I get home, you found the right Sara! Good luck on your test!

Meredith - Alex loves rice cakes too, always has. So far every flavor is a winner. It's probably b/c I eat them all the time and he wants whatever I have!

Hey Kids!!

I have been banging my head against the wall trying to get those pictures off the laptop. OMG ... the laptop is a POC!! I have one more thing to try and then I give up. I am going to slave the laptop hard drive to the desktop and see if I can pull everything off it that way. We shall see!! I am the type of person who would rather spend $200.00 to figure out how to do it then pay someone $100.00 to do it. It's a curse ... :rolleyes1

On another hand ... you guys know how much we move and how quickly we change our minds on things and stuff. It's a darn good thing that we are flexible!!

Becky - I know you live outside St. Louis right? What's the rental market like there? What's it like in general? We are *thinking* that *maybe* there *might* be an oppurtunity for DH out there. You like it? We are from Boston but lived in Indiana and outside Chicago and loved the midwest. We are much more suited for a Midwestern lifestyle vs. Boston and even S. Florida. We would move in a second but would we like it????

Love the pictures of Alexander and Caleb - too cute!

Nicole - I had an almost identical night with Christopher last night. he went to be like normal, his sugar was fine when we went to bed, but he woke up at 2 screaming bloody murder. I figured he was wet, so I changed him, but he started screaming about 5 minutes later. I rocked him to sleep again, but he woke up again in another 5 minutes. I finally decided to just sleep in his room with him (thank God he already has his double bed in there...) so DH could get some sleep before going into work today. i think what was waking him up was the wind. It was really howling, and blowing the branches into the windows. Hopefully it doesn't happen again tonight...

In other news Sam & Zoe like Cheddar Rice Cakes..YAY!! A bread/grain item to add to teh list of things they will eat!

Ellery loves those too! I didn't even think to give them to her, I was eating them as a snack and she just reached into the bag and got one, so I said ok give it a try! She is always really interested in what I'm eating and she'll come up and start saying "Mmm Mmmm" and sometimes "bite bite!" if she's really hungry. She's worse than a puppy, I swear.

I wish we had a Trader Joe's! I hear so many good things about it. *pouting*

Ash - The pictures of Ellery on your FB are great!!!

I am now 11 hours into copying pictures from the laptop harddrive to the main computer. I have 13.7GB total to copy and 7.09GB left to copy ... it's going slow at 170KB/sec. I don't know that there is many other way to do it. I thought after I started it last night that I could try and see if copying them to a DVD is easier since this computer has a DVD copier but I am afraid to stop it now!!

Ok, I know that you guys have heard more than enough from me in the last few days but I have no one to talk to and I am so frustrated/excited/angry ...

I have mentioned before DH's job. He works for a company that was started by a doctor back about 10 years ago. It is not at all related to the medical field but rather technology. DH's best friend's older brother has been with the company since pretty close to the beginning. DH had a relationship with the older brother in college and they are fairly close as well. I'll call him C. C had been watching DH in his career and tried multiple times to pull DH over to the company. It was never the right time until Summer 2006 when C increased the incentive to pull DH over. There was talk about DH taking over this office once he and C built it and moved on. See, C had been here trying to build this office up for over a year and had done NOTHING. Since DH has come in they have built the office up to a successful running branch of the office UNTIL C and his counterpart up north decided that because of the success and future success they would hire up a bunch of people and did not talk with DH about this. The market tanked and they fired all those people ...that is just one example of the mistakes C has made along the way. On one hand he is tell DH that they are partners and C couldn't do this without DH and then on the other he is doing things with the group that he never talked with DH about. DH is very successful at what he does, he is very unique in his technology knowledge and sales ability. He has proven time and again over the almost three years he has been here that he knows what he is talking about. It's coming down to the fact that he has a proven track record with not only himself but also the two people they "let" him mentor. The rest of the group is crap. C can't get out of his own way and get his ego out of the way to let DH shine and push through.

So .... last year there was talk about a joint venture between DH's national group and the local segment of the company in opening up an office out of state. It would have perfect for DH to lead that as his biggest client is in that city and this is the oppurtunity that C told him he would have when he started ... leadership, the ability to run is own office and eventually equity in the company. So DH, being the nice, moral guy he is, went to C who he views as technically his boss and told him he was interested in pursuing that. C literally laughed in his face. Literally and dropped it. Over the course of this past year, now that DH has really proven himself, he has pushed ocassionally for more leadership, more money etc. C has told him repeatedly that he thinks DH is "over-valuing" his position in the company. Keep in mind that over the last three years DH has brought in over $3million in PROFIT ... over $10million in sales. He has made pennies of that. So DH has a confident in the local group here that he is very close friends with. They have been paralelling each other in the "status" in the company in their respective groups since the beginning. The difference is over the 6-9 months his leader has moved out of the way for him to start doing more leadership. Dh had gone to this guy over the years venting to him about his lack of oppurtunity, C's getting in the way and not even letting him do anything. C is obviously very egotistical ... he always has been. This other guy, T, recently got the "manager's package" that DH was told he would get in a year 18 months ago if "he kept doing what he was doing". DH went to C because it's the middle of March and he has yet to have a compensation plan. He inquired about getting the raise and the rest of the package ... C laughed again, said I think you are over-valuing yourself again and I might be able to get you $5K more. Keep in mind the package is total compensation gain of over $30K.

DH runs circles are T. The consenus from T is that outside of C, everyone agrees on this. No one above C wants to lose DH ... comparing apples to apples and DH's track record in sales as well as leadership that he has been able to get his hands on is steps above T.

Well ... T being the friend, confident and company guy that he is went to the Sales VP about DH. The Sales VP is above C. This was last night ... the Sales VP never knew of Dh's interest in the new office and they have struggled and wasted so much money trying to get that off the ground because they don't have a stong leader for it. The sales VP said that DH's value in the company is huge and no one wants to lose him ... basically a lot of other things where said that indicated that most of DH's ideas that C asked him to present and C would take them above to the decision makers never got past C. C gave him busy works with dangling leadership, group ownership and money infront of him and never passed along DH's information. The Sales VP said they are starting to see up the chain of command that C is not leadership material and that his is basically going in circles and getting nothing done. The company as a whole is very loyal to C but they have demoted him in the past. C as a sales guy did great, C as a leader, not so much.

So now DH is in a position where all this is coming out and he is afraid of not only being seen as stabbing C in the back but also losing his friendship with C's brother outside the company. I feel this is the best thing that could have happened because it will get the truth out there without DH doing it himself. T was doing what he thought was best for DH's as well as the company because DH is an asset that is not being used to their advantage.

Who knows what will happen now. C is very emotional. About a year and half ago, another division of the company was struggling and DH was working with that manager on how to get it up and running. DH offered to come work for them for a while help get it going ... the other manager was very interested and in interest of trying to not step on anyone's toes he went to C to discuss it with him. C flew off the handle, said absolutely not, ripped DH a new on in the parking lot for even thinking about leaving C and left it at that. C is not thinking of the best interest of the company just in the best interest of himself C.

DH is tired of this. He has started looking for a new job. If nothing happens as a result of this all blowing up he will eventually leave the company. I have to think that the higher-ups have already started to see this type of behavior from C, see that it's harming the company and hopefully will take some action. It's really ridiculous all that has gone on now that I type it out and this is just a fraction of the games C plays.

I have no idea what I am looking for from you guys ... just need to get this off my shoulders. I have no idea what could happen. DH said he will only accept a couple of things and they have to do with getting out from under C. We would go to the new city in a second and he would build that office. He would take this group of C was honestly taken elsewhere ... because he is supposed to be working on something completely different for the company but he hasn't done much with it and keeps jumping back into Dh's office.

I guess if you could keep your fingers crossed for something GOOD to happen from this. Who knows ... DH is going to talk to the Sales VP that T talked to yesterday to figure out a strategy and game plan. He is going to tell him that if he is at all interested in DH going to the new office that DH is interested in it because he sees that as his oppurtunity here now.

Thanks for listening ... that was long!!

*** I also need to add that this is not a conventional company set up in the sense that you have a boss, the boss has a boss and the boss has a boss. Their biggest thing when DH came here was that it was a FLAT organization. Everyone was equal. Obviously that is not the case. Obviously that doesn't even work. Slowly higherarchy is starting to come out with the Sales VP, T and C is just floating around riding his success as a sales guy a few years ago. I had to put that out there because DH talking to the manager in the other division to help is completely above board and Ok on all grounds except if it hurts C personally. C couldn't do this until DH came along and now he is but only because of DH and taking credit himself. He tried for over a year to build this group and didn't do a darn thing until DH came in the company.****

Christina....Did you see the friends when Rachel was working for Bloomingdales and she was up for the promotion but her boss kept on putting her down in the interview bc she did not want her to leave and bc Rachel made her look good. I think that is what C is doing. Your DH makes him look good so he has sabotoged any advancement your DH may have persued. Without your DH...I think C knows that his job is going to go down the toliet.

Hope you guys get a better city and that your DH gets out from under C.

IN other news....Caleb slept through the night. Now lets hope this is the new trend!!

Yeah Caleb!!! That's awesome!!!

I do think that is what is happening. It's so difficult to see it though because Dh has known him for so long. It is a wierd situation but hopefully good can come of it!

Hi Everyone!!!

DMickey, I agree k_reile. DH went through something similar at his last company. He ended up leaving because of the whole situation (and we moved to FL). I hope your DH is able to resolve this or find another job.
Oh, and I think the pictures of Alexander are hysterical!

k_reile, congrats to Caleb!! I hope he continues to sleep through the night.
