Owen likes Mickey's Clubhouse, Imagination Movers, Little Einsteins, Bob the Builder, Sesame Street, and Wonder Pets, but he never sits still for more than 5 minutes of those shows. Blue's Clues comes on and he'll settle in for a good 10-20 minutes, even for the entire show if he's tired or not feeling well. And now we can add Good Eats to the short list of "shows Owen will sit through an entire episode".

He also loves dancing to music with us (he mostly just sways from side to side right now), but his favorite music is Bollywood! We have a show on one of the local channels called Namaste America and they have a section called Desi Jams where they show Bollywood videos. Owen loves it! I've borrowed some Bollywood CD's from the library and he'll pick up one of his musical instruments and start playing and swaying when we put the music on. It cracks up our Indian friends, and they're trying to teach him some Bollywood dance moves. Maybe when he can walk we can work on the dance steps a little more. :rotfl:

Meredith - Those pictures are soo cute!! They look so much alike, but yet so different.

*********
I can't get these pictures off to save my life. I am ready to bring it somewhere I just cringe at spending the $$$. I know I will regret it if I don't and something happens though. All his pictures from birth to 16ish months are on there.

DMickey, when my computer crashed I lost all the originals of Owen's pictures from birth through 9 months, but I did have them on Shutterfly at least. Still, they're all compressed on Shutterfly and so I no longer have the "nice" copies on my computer. I think it's worth it (to me) to spend the $$$ to have the pictures. Sorry it's come to this for you...

And technology is supposed to make our lives easier?! :confused3 Only when it works!

Meredith, the pictures are cute! I love how Sam and Zoe have such different expressions on their faces. You can really see some of their unique personalities!

Wow you ladies are chatty today!!! Took me a while to catch-up! popcorn::

As for television...Brady's fav's are anything from Playhouse Disney, especially Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Sesame Street, and select movies (The Polar Express, Lion King, Monsters Inc.). For music, Choo-Choo Soul with Genevieve and the Little Einsteins CD's are our fav car tunes!

On the new-baby topic...I often get worried how Brady will act whenever we have #2. He is soooooooooooooo used to having 100% of my undivided attention all.day.long. He has NEVER been in a situation where he has been with any other kids fighting for attention. That makes me a bit worried. Then I start to get sad that I won't have the same amount of time to spend with the new baby, doing all the things I have been able to do with Brady. But....admist all that worry....I am still SUPER excited to start TTC in May!!!

Bethany - As for Owen walking, I totally agree with everyone else (and your own instinct) that everything is fine. He has still has tons of time to be within the "norm". That being said...I am a worrier and would probably be calling EI to have him evaluated. But that's only because I am OBSESS over stuff like that and would want an eval just to make sure nothing else was wrong. But don't listen to me....listen to all the other wise ladies here. Oh, and the Bollywood cracks me up! :lmao:

Christina - Sorry about your picture problems. Computer stuff is sooooooooooooo frustrating. I like the idea of the booster seat at the table. I may need to try that with Brady!

Becky - Another closet Britany-fan here! I went to her show 5 or so years ago...it was fantastic! As for the margarita machine - it is AWESOME!!! :thumbsup2 I would highly recommend it! HERE is the link to the one we have. I have never regretted having it!

And on an ending note....I just  you ladies on here!! It seems like a million years ago that many of us met on the TTC boards, and now look where we are! Running around after toddlers!!! Crazy!!! :grouphug:

I worry about this too. If Vaylie isn't with me or DH, she's with one of the Grandmas (my mom, his mom, or my Grandma- aka "GiGi" to Vaylie). The only cousin she has is 3 months older, and I don't think there's much competition for attention, because even when they are together, it's all about them.

And that margarita machine looks awesome!!!

I agree! It is SO nice to have a group of caring, understanding girls to talk to, bounce ideas off of, vent to... Motherhood is undoubtedly the coolest job I have ever had, but also the most demanding and the most humbling. :lovestruc It's nice to be able to share that with you guys, because I know you "get it."

I agree with Nicole..this is an awesome group! (now Nicole go sign up for facebook!)

Hi

Well - I finally got with the program and joined facebook last night!! Yay!!

I friend requested all of you guys (Becky, Kelly, Sara, Christiana, Bethany, Meredith, Jen, Kara...if I forgot anyone let me know)

The friend request will be under the name "Nicole Cia...lla Cap....i" (sorry for dotting about the rest of my name...just don't want any other attorneys/clients to connect my Dis name to my real name!!)

Yeah--I am excited!

It has been great connecting with some college and high school people again!

In other news...I had the worst friggin night with Izzy last night -- she went down to bed around 745pm just fine - but she woke up around 10pm (which happens sometimes but you give her back her pacifer, pick her up and hold her for a few minutes and she goes right back down...)

Well last night she SCREAMED for 4 hours straight -- until well after 200am!!

The little monster fell asleep in my arms (on the couch, on the chair, on the floor) several times but as soon as I moved her to her crib she would immediately jump up and start SCREAMING and crying -- and it was fake crying and yelling because it stopped immediately as soon as I picked her up -- it was awful.

After each session of getting her to calm down when I'd put her back in the crib and she would scream - we would let her scream for about 10 minutes or so or until she became hysterical...hoping she would tire herself out and go to sleep - she didn't

Finally around 2am I put her back in the crib and said to my husband that I was just going to let her scream. She screamed for about 30 minutes before she finally laid down and went to sleep -- and she was up this morning wide awake and cheerful like nothing had happened around 815am.

I on the other hand am exhausted -- and wondering WTH that was all about last night - and praying we don't have a repeat of that tonight.

Ahhhh -- the joys of motherhood!!

Have a good day ladies!

Nicole

Ahh Nicole. Sorry you had a bad night. I hope its not a new trend:scared1:

Too funny about Christopher and the wheel of fortune! And Vaylie not liking Handy Manny.

My newphew (2.5) is just now getting into Handy Manny (probably more a boy thing) and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse (need to get that boy addicted to Disney before our trip in Feb) Its funny bc I only watched a couple of shows with him. We went up to my parents place at Lake Erie this past weekend. DH was measuring her kitchen so he can replace it and I was like oh trent is using Stretch! My mom said the other day she could have used Phillipe...funny how we are not even calling them by the correct name anymore!:rotfl:

I finally broke down and took Caleb to the Ped yesterday. My MIL was getting worried that his chest congestion was not getting better after 2 wks...I wasn;t really too concerned bc it was not bothering him. We had been running the humidifier but it was just not going away. Well just a cold basically. He told me to use the baby nose drops for 3 days adn if notb etter by then he gave me a prescription nose drops to use for 5 days only...apparently they are no good after 5 days. But apparently there was nothing alarming which was good.

Better news..the past two nights Caleb has only woken up once. The night before last, all I had to do is get up and give him back his pacifier and he was back out. Last night he fell back asleep right before I got to his room. I really wanted to take a pic of him sleeping but obviously did not want the flash to wake him up because he was flipped the opposite way in the crib. This isn;t the 1st time he has done this. Maybe I need to put him down the way he ends up normally and he will wake up where I wanted him to sleep all along. :rotfl2:

:crazy2: eeewww...I am completely grossed out by all the snot coming out of my boy's head today. I have gagged so much, and I'm afraid I'm going to actually puke one of these times when I have to wipe his nose. I've got such a jumpy gag reflex, and this is just disgusting!!!

Owen hates having his nose wiped and it's been a battle to do the booger bulb (aka snot sucker), and I can't stand seeing the snot on his face, so neither one of us is too happy with the situation.

But other than that and being a little more tired than usual, he's in fine form and still cruising around trying to find something new to get into. Today he pulled the bookmarks out of our books on the end table, pushed all the buttons on the DVD/VCR player, pulled part of the slip cover off the recliner, pulled the clean folded laundry out of the basket and dumped it on the floor, and best of all, rubbed his face all over Alton (the cat) and left a big ol' disgusting pile of snot on the cat's back! :crazy2: :rotfl: It was gross, but the cat's reaction was so funny! He just went nuts running around the house and stopping to clean his back, then taking off again. And he wouldln't let me catch him to clean it for him. Poor kitty.

Sounds like Owen has had a busy day! :rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao:

And that's just before his morning nap! :rotfl: I can only imagine what he'll get into later...

And on another note, we have a new mail carrier who just does not get it that he needs to be quiet when he delivers the mail to our house!!! I have posted a sign over the doorbell that says "Quiet Please: Baby sleeping. Do not use the doorbell" and what does he do? He POUNDS on the door!! :headache: The child's bedroom is the left front room, it is right by the front door, the window for his room is on the porch, he can hear EVERYTHING that happens at the front of the house. We have a tiny, 1910-era bungalow. There is no insulation. I have told the mail carrier several times that he needs to be very quiet, but he just does not get it! :sad2: So once again today, he comes stomping up the porch steps, bangs on the door, rattles the mail slot, and calls out "package!". And of course Owen woke up. :headache: And now Owen is crabby because he was woken up too early from his morning nap, and I'm grumpy because I didn't get to finish my morning chores and who knows what Owen's schedule will be because of his short AM nap. GRRRRRRRRR.....

Sigh. Vent over...now back to watching booger-boy destroy the living room. ;)

Definitely EWWWW on the boogers....so gross!

Nicole- Hope tonight goes better with Izzy!

So we have our Twins Club spring thrift sale this weekend, and I am almot done tagging my stuff. I am selling 2 strollers (on older graco duoglider and a double jogger), toys, and some kids dishes. Iam not selling clothes yet since my sister is pregnant, ansI want her to be able to take what she wants. I am not ready to part with some of the equipment yet either..my sister may borrow some things and Robert andIare giving it another year before we decide if we are done having babies or not.

anyway, can't wait to shop the presale friday night!!!! Iam looking for booster seats, potties, clothes, and outdoor equpment!

I am so jealous of all the thrift sales ladies. I need something like that.

Bethany - I am sorry that Owen is a booger face!! We went to may friend's house who's son is the same age as Alexander after Gymboree and he was a booger face too. He just would not let you wipe his nose. He has really bad allergies so I am not worried about it but I couldn't wipe that kids nose for the life of me. It was cute watching them play together though. They are really starting to actually play together.

Nicole - Yikes. I am so sorry about Izzy's night last night. Alexander has been screwed up since we came back from Disney. He will go to bed at his normal time of 7:30PM just fine but then is up crying on and off from about 1am to 4pm. Never really enough for me to go to him just for a minute here and there. Then he sleeps until 9+ until I wake him up. He is taking normal naps though I have to wake him up from those too or he will sleep for 3.5+ hours. I don't know what's going on. Last night I went in because he was crying more than normal and changed his diaper, gave him a cup of milk, held him for a few minutes and he went down ok. :confused3

Just have to post ... we just found out that DH's best friend's girlfriend of four years is pregnant. He called to get the phone number to my OB. They stopped preventing at Christmas and apparently got PG right away. She is three weeks late and just took a test ... I am very very excited but also a little jealous ...

Hey guys! Know I haven't checked in for a while. I've just been studying like crazy for my tests that will be on Saturday. I still don't know if I will pass. I just took a practice test and scored one point away from passing. Bleh! So I'm sitting up late again trying to cram my brain with more information. Did someone say facebook? I'm on facebook! I have lots of pictures of ellery on there. It's a good way to share them with friends and family.

Good Luck on your test Ashley - What test is it? The teaching one?

Ok...I didn;t know you could upload photos onto photobucket straight from your phone (course found this out after I emailed them to my email and then saved them to the computer. Now i have the address saved in my phone!)

Some recent pictures of Caleb! Not the best because they are from my phone!

From this morning. He woke up on the wrong side of the crib! In a good mood though! :rotfl: He loves to have his feet in the air!

Caleb2.jpg

Couple of weeks ago over at my moms. He was playing nicely in his exercauser and my newphew (2.5) was playing "Cooking" so he had Caleb wear his chef's hat and JJ wore the chef's apron!

ChefCaleb.jpg

This picture is from Tuesday. He came to work with me before we had to go to his doctors appointment. I took the picture to show daddy that Caleb was "working"

Caleb1.jpg

I can't believe that he will be 6 mos old already on the 25th. Time really has flown by!

Hi Krellie -- cute pix of Caleb - time does fly!! I like the one of him in his crib with his feet up.

Christina -- congrats re DH best friends girlfriends pregnancy - but I know what you mean about the jealousy -- its totally normal. When you are TTC and others around you are getting pregnant - its normal to feel happy but jealous of them - I know I am like that too!

Ash -- good luck on the test!! You can do it - it will be great!! Are you Ash Johnson on FB -- we will all look you up!

As for Facebook -- if I lived closer to Meredith I would **kill** her for getting me addicted to Facebook -- Meredith is like a dealer -- "come on Nicole, want to try a little - you'll like it - its fun" -- and now I am completely and totally hooked and my DH is not thrilled that I am "just checking in" on it about every 5 minutes!! Ugh - I have a totally addictive personality so this is not good for me -- especially since I love it too -- so I am even more likely to basically live on FB. I am going to try to limit myself to just 3 times a day (morning when I turn on my work computer, after lunch and once at home maybe while watching tv!)

Thanks Meredith - thanks alot!!!! Like having a full time job and a 16 month old and a husband and a dog didn't keep me busy enough -- now I am a Facebook addict too!! (kidding - still love you Meredith!!)

Have a great day ladies.

-Nicole
