Wow, it looks like lots of you are on facebook, I'll accept all the friend invites when I get home from work!

Amber - looks like Spencer really got into his cake! :goodvibes Great idea with the smock! Oh, and you're gonna need to do something about that mini-mullet before it gets too long - that is just not OK! :lmao:

Kreile - is that Caleb's first tooth? Alex's teeth didn't seem to bother him much either, never cared much for teething rings, preffered his own hands and toys.

Bethany - Post pics of Owen's haircut when you can! I never thought I would like my uncommon maiden name until I gained a more common married name. Those uncommon names sure make finding people easier!

DMickey - How funny that Alexander got out of his booster, did he figure out how to undue the belt or just climb out of it?

I've been reading along- will catch up later.

Facebook me too! I just included my maiden name, too- since a lot of people probably don't know my married name...

Becky Braddy Harmon.

yep its Caleb's first tooth! He loves chewing on his hands...has been knawing on them for about 3 mos now. I figured he was going to get teeth early bc of him always chewing on his hands or if your hands are near his mouth then he will chomp on your hands too. I'll have to upload some pics of Caleb later. Trent put his nasty hat on him and he looked too cute wearing daddy's hat.
Right now I am listening to him fuss his way to sleep!

So great to see you all on Facebook!! :goodvibes

Bethany - Can't wait to see pics of Owen's haircut!

DMickey - That is so cool that you have a little girl in your family now...although I *completely* understand how you feel. I am praying to the baby-gender gods that I will have a little girl next. ;) All my girlfriends that are pregnant or who have just had kids have had girls...so hopefully it will be my turn next!

********************************************************

So my brother called and told me today that he plans on proposing to his girlfriend while we are down in Disney in May! :yay: He is so excited, and I couldn't be happier for him. She is an awesome girl and they are a great match!!! Any good ideas of how he could do it?? He was asking for some good ideas!

I'm not really sure who stole my sweet child and replaced her with a rotten, ill-tempered SCREAMING banshee, but I am pissed. The past two days have been A-W-F-U-L. I don't know what the heck is going on. Yesterday she had me in tears before 10 am- possibly a new record.

Usually she is so easy, but lately she has just been nuts- she REFUSES to have her diaper changed- she kicks, screams, slaps me, whatever she can do; she refuses to have her hair washed. Tonight, she has screamed her head off at everything; every single time she doesn't get her way- she pitches an unholy screaming fit. I've been doing good about ignoring it, walking her to her room, and shutting the door, but I have barely a sliver of patience left. And my DH just stayed in the kitchen for the whole bathtime fiasco, and I was like, "Thanks a lot for your help there, bud" Can he not hear the child freaking out? My eardrums are still bleeding. I always end up being the bad guy. I get to deal with the tantrums and the bathtime hair washing horrors.

GRRRRRRRR!

My head hurts. :headache:

Toni, the woman who cut Owen's hair, was just awesome! She knew just how to handle his curiousity and wiggles, and did a great job avoiding his hands when he kept trying to feel what she was doing on his head! :rotfl:

So here's some pictures from the haircut process - before, during, and after!

DH says we should have gone even shorter, but I just couldn't do it! He looks so different already, and I love his hair. I didn't want Owen to become a total baldy (like his daddy...:rolleyes1  ).

Becky - Sorry Vaylie is running you ragged. I'll keep my fingers crossed that tomorrow will be better.

Bethany - What great pics!!! So cute!!! :goodvibes

Bethany- I love that middle picture!

Kelly- Thanks. I needed a hug. Now if you could send me a margarita, I think I'd be all better.

 Sorry Vaylie's been a pill, Becky. Hang in there. DH sometimes doesn't get it when I need help with Owen, too and it drives me nuts. I'm trying to get better about asking for help without yelling or accusing him of being a slacker. ;)

My developmental psychology prof said that children are at their most difficult when they are hitting a big developmental milestone, and it's usually right around a birthday for the preschool years. She taught us that it's because they are uncomfortable with the change and also feeling insecure because they aren't proficient at the new skill.

Don't know if that helps or even applies to Vaylie, but thought I'd share some of that knowledge since I'm still paying for it (gotta love those student loans!). :)

....did someone mention Margaritas around here? :p

Bethany..love the haircut pics!

Becky-Sam is learning to throw tantrums..he throws himself down every time he doesn't get his way....he put out his hand and said "stop" to me today..that is his new word...I can't wait until hea can tell me NO!

Kelly- :lmao: You have a Jimmy Buffet Margarita Machine? That's AWESOME! I have to tell my SIL- we may need to invest in one of those!

Bethany- I don't know what's going on. She's not really acting like she's sick or anything, and developmentally I'm not sure what sort of milestone she'd be working on at this point? I just don't know. I'm really trying not to get so frustrated, but wow. That piercing scream can work a person's nerves.

Well- my sister finally caved and told my mom and grandma that she's pregnant, and they are totally excited, but mymom is already being a pain in the you-know-what. She just called and starts in about how she doesn't want the baby to go to daycare, and she doesn't want my sister to move (she and her BF are in the process of buying a house, and the real issue that my mom has with this is that the house is down the street from my sis's BF's parents- jealousy is already rearing it's ugly head).

Amber - looks like Spencer really got into his cake! :goodvibes Great idea with the smock! Oh, and you're gonna need to do something about that mini-mullet before it gets too long - that is just not OK! :lmao:

Yeah, I do NOT want him to have mullet. It's just a tiny section of hair, but I think it may get cut sooner than later. Now, if the rest of his hair would grow!

Bethany, great pictures! I LOVE the color of his hair!

Kelly, congrats to you brother. No ideas for him though.

Becky, I am sorry she is being a pain. I COMPLETELY understand. Spencer will scream and make this god awful screech. If you tell him no, he tries to bite you. :sad2:

Ooh, I'll take a margarita too! :drinking1

Kelly - how exciting for your brother! I think there are some ideas on the Disney website, maybe tell him to check out the wedding section on the Dis, too. I know there's tons of ways it can be done, with or without shelling out some cash for a little extra magic. :goodvibes

Becky - That stinks that Vaylie is being such a little pill. I find that Alex is usually like that when he is over-tired or hungry, but it sounds like V has been that way for awhile now. My DH is the same way as yours, not hearing the screaming in the next room even. I worry how he handles Alex when I'm not home. :headache: Sorry to hear about your mom starting up the drama again, she sounds like one of those people that thinks the world revolves around her. :upsidedow You are just not having a good couple of days!

Bethany - Owen looks so handsome with his new haircut! I was kind of traumatized by Alex's first cut too (at 7 months!) but he really did look so much better after. He was starting to look like a shaggy dog, including always having his tongue out at that age! :dog2:

Meredith - Sam's already starting with the "stop"? That is not good, you're in for trouble ahead!

If you tell him no, he tries to bite you. :sad2:

Too funny on the hair - Alex had 2 bald patches on either side of his head for awhile, but a full head of hair in front, top and back. It looked terrible, but luckily he had enough hair everywhere else to cover the bald spots. :rotfl:

He also went through the trying to bite thing when we told him no, and that's about when the time-outs got started. He still tries ocasionally, but not very often.

Bethany - I love Owens pictures. He and Noah have the same reddish hair color. We are planning on getting Noah's cut at disney when we go in June. Its not too bad yet so hopefully we can make it that long.

I forgot my list of facebook names when I went home last night. I did accept all the requests and will work on finding everyone else tonight. Hopefully. I'm really not sure where all my time is going when I get home but it seems to have vanished the last week.

Bethany - Those pictures are GREAT!! Alexander needs yet another hair cut! Argh, we will probably go this week.

Becky - I am sorry that V is being such a Pill. Alexander is behaving very similarly. I noticed it is when he is tired mostly, or hungry. It's just much worse than before. I think it's the beginning of the terrible two's. Not so much that he wants to say something he can't, just that he wants to do something I won't let him. He can carry on for 1/2 an hour about something so trivial. His version of a temper tantrum is to look at me, cry and then throw himself down into a sitting position and fold over so his head is on the ground. He'll stay like that for a few minutes crying then he'll stand up look at me, scream/cry and do it over agian. It's actually quite funny. He also went through the diaper thing and while he's better no he will still throw a fit. I have started letting him go to the potty while we change the diaper so it keeps him a little more interested.

Kelly - That's so exciting about your brother!! Check out that thread for the weddings or something for the not yet engaged. I am sure those girls will have a ton of ideas for you!!

Amber and Meredith and Politto - Hi.

*****
Alexander is all screwed up from the time change. I don't know what to do. He went down fine at 7:30PM but was up from 3-4:30 and is just now demanding to get out of his crib at 9:30AM. I am thinking of skipping his nap for a day or two to kind of try and tire him out and get him on schedule.

Good morning! You all have been a chatty bunch the last few days - looks like I have a lot of catching up to do!!

Michelle: Hi -- what a cute story about Will slapping himself in the head to stay awake - where do they learn these things!! Hope your work trip went okay.

Kelly: That is awesome that Brady is taking swin lessons - must be so cute to see too! My inlaws have a pool and we are really excited to have Izzy swim there this summer - she went in it last summer a few times but was too little to get it -- this summer she will hopefully love it! Glad to hear Brady did not get hurt in his Target fall - that must have been scary. I hate that stuff! And lastly, yay for your brother proposing on your WDW trip--- I LOVE marriage proposals and a proposal in Disney - what could be better. Is he going to do it in front of you? (I love to watch those kind of things!!) My brother is a private detective and he proposed a few years ago to his girlfriend on the beach at the Cape - he brought her there around sunset and had a picnic set up - and he hid his PI videocamera (really small and high tech with great resolution) in the dunes or a rock or something nearby and anyway he was able to tape the whole proposal -- you see him getting on one knee, giving her the ring, her crying, them hugging -- it really is beautiful and I think its so special to actual have a video tape of that!!

Bethany: Sounds like you got some great finds and deals at the consignment shop - sorry that rude woman stole your mickey crocs! I love the pictures of Owen getting his hair cut - he is simply adorable!

DMickey: Sorry about the BFN - glad you had a great trip though. I love the pix of DS -- is that your dog? Cute dog too!! I'll bet those ribs were delicious -- now I'm craving ribs!! As for the time change schedule screw up - I have read that you move in 15 mt increments each day to get them back on the right schedule - it could take a week or so. Izzy was screwed up Sun and Mon but last night she went to bed at her "normal time" but got up earlier than usual today -- so we are still working on getting her readjusted too!

Becky : Congrats on becoming an auntie - exciting news about your sister. I am glad to hear your mom and grandmother took the news well! Glad V's dr appt went well - she is such a small cute little peanut -- she will be one of those lucky girls that is thin and petite and pretty all her life!! Sorry though that she is being so rough on you lately - I guess its that age and she is testing her limits a bit now. I think you are doing the right thing to just walk away! Hang in there!!

Pollito: What a crazy story about your ped -- how tv leads to porn is beyond me!

Jenny: I am glad to hear Noah is doing better. Izzy was like that after her last cold too - she just ate and ate and ate!!

Krellie: I hope Caleb is okay - sounds like alot of our kiddos are getting over sicknesses lately. And yay for tooth cutting!

Amber: OMG - I love the pix of Spencer from his birthday - the banner is awesome, the cake is awesome and his crayola smock is a brilliant idea - sounds like a great party -- I bet you are pinching yourself that he is one already!!

Jen: Hi - how are you guys doing - did you apply for the summer PA job?

Meredith: Hi

Kgle: Hi - sorry you are having a tough time with Rylan lately - I guess its that age! Hang in there.

*******************
Facebook: I am a total loser - I am not on it!! What am I missing out on - its cool that you guys are all on it!!

*******************
Well - lots of new milestones going on in our household:

*We turned Izzy's car seat around and she is now facing forward - its weird to see her staring at me in the rear view mirror now! She seems happy though and likes that she can reach all her toys better now too.

*Izzy is using utensils like a pro -- she has been using a fork and spoon for about 2 months now but now she really gets it and uses it correctly and can eat with the fork and spoon - even soup!! It is so cute seeing her eat with silverware!

*She has learned to climb up stairs standing holding our hand!! We are super excited.

Lastly, she is a huge fan of the Muppet Show -- my DH is as well and he therefore has Season 1 and 2 of the Muppets plus a whole 10 DVD set of best of the Muppets -- we discovered that its like baby crack to her -- when we put on the DVD she starts dancing - cheering for kermit and fozzie bear (her favorites) and sits on the couch or the floor quietly watching - it really is cute. She has also learned who Ernie is of Bert and Ernie and she know calls all muppets/seasme street characters that she likes "Ernie" -- but she says it really cute like err-nay -- so whenever a Muppet she likes comes on she starts screaming and clapping "err-nay err-nay err-nay" It really is cute.

Have a great day all!!

-Nicole

Nicole, that's awesome that Izzy is into the Muppets! I love it!!!

I'm a big Muppets fan, too, but I don't have any on DVD so Owen hasn't seen any. I tried to get him into Sesame Street since they have muppets, too, but he prefers Blue's Clues. :confused3 We had it on a DVD that my SIL gave us and I let him watch a little of it once when I needed to get dressed without a cling-on child, and poof! he's a Blue's Clues addict. But he doesn't like the new Blue's Room - just the classic old Blue's Clues with either Joe or Steve.

Owen had a hard night - he kept waking up crying or would just whimper for a while. This morning he's all sniffly and has a runny nose, so I think he might be getting sick again. I hope DH doesn't get it this time - he's still dealing with some asthma-like symptoms after catching Owen's last cold in January. DH's dr. thinks he might be on an inhaler for a long time because of the last infection, and getting sick again would make it worse.
