Becky- how's the projector working out? HAPPY LATE BIRTHDAY VAYLIE! the cupcakes look so yummy

Dmickey- i guess you are at WDW now- i hope you are having a blast- can't wait for pics! The gaylord is so nice!

lol at the pics of Owen and Brady in their 'closet beds' at disney! too cute

Bethany- welcome back- looks like a great time was had by all. How cute is Owen in those pics! is his hair really red? i can't wait to see even more photos!!! Dont' get me started on PMS post baby. mine was always bad, still is. but hte crying thing- oh my gosh- so i am the type that rarely cries in public. i just get embarrassed- i hate crying in front of DH even. i just have always been looked as the 'strong one'. but since having Will, i can't control it- i cry over commercials, movies etc. It is pretty pathetic. lol- plus i guess having a child changes you- you worry about 'what if that was my child'. the love is like nothing else, i guess that does it to us! lol :confused3 :rotfl:

Pollito- is Alex doing better now after his shot side effects? how is work- any travel soon?

Denise- i am so sorry for what all is going on. I am glad you are looking into other areas- realizing food service only sparks your temper could be key. also- have you sought any help for your temper too? maybe that could help- or you just vent to us! :goodvibes :thumbsup2 i am glad you are finding better ways to work within your faith- but i agree with everyoene else- life is TOO SHORT to be unhappy, no matter if it is your marriage, job, home situation, friends or faith. We are only given this one life and we shouldn't spend it miserable, stressing, second guessing our decisions or settling for something we aren't happy with. Only you know what is best for your family and it sounds like you are on the right track!! I'll be hoping and praying that one of those jobs comes through for you very soon!!! I waited tables all through college and it is very stressful, i don't think waitstaff are given enough credit for all the crap they are put through. hopefully you can find a better fit somewhere else!! good luck Denise!!! you know we are all pulling for you and your family. :grouphug: :grouphug:

Jenny- did you figure out what was wrong with Noah and his throwing up spells at school/day care? I hope he is better. we've had some melanoma scares in our fmaily too- including my grandpa. i am checked a lot since i have tons of moles. so far clear, but i still have had many removed. i hope all stays well. i am actually going to the American Acadmey of Dermatology show this week- i am sure i will see lots of cool derm stuff.

Meredith- love the finger painting pics! i'll check out your march of dimes link for sure. :hug:

Nicole- wow, can't believe your doc and the whole whooping cough thing. scary. i hope all three of you are feeling better now.

KGLE- welcome!:cheer2: what a great elmo cake- love it!

Kreile- hi!! :wizard: glad Caleb did well in his crib last night! so we have two Kara's now! :)

JenNH- so what do you do at the fire dept? the ER job does sound cool- let us know what happens- i know these job decisions are so tough to make. good luck!:cheer2:

Kelly- love Brady's blog- i still visit often! strollers....ugh- i am no expert- in fact we are looking soon to buy a stroller for disney- i saw the MaClaren is a popular pick- which one is best? we would like a tray if possible, but easy to fold up (we rent a car and so we use the tram from the parking lot), had some shade and perhaps some storage. any recommendations guys? i know we talkea bout it LONG ago, but i can't remember. :laughing:

Amber- thanks for the AK pics- always fun to see WDW pics! Spencer looks like he is ahving a blast!

**********************

i started a pre trip report - see the link in my sig, come read along!

Will is doing great- he now slaps himself in the head before going to bed- trying to stay awake. so funny. he is really all over the place- running! he also wants to try and climb the furniture- i caught himi trying to go off the back of the couch last night- the tile foyer is behidn the couch- NO no!!

I leave tmoorrow for 5days/nights in San Francisco for that Derm show. i am going to miss him so much! i come back on the red eye on mon night/tues am. i am taking tuesday off to sleep! i've only done the red eye once before. i hate leaving my little man for that long, but no choice.

Michelle - As for strollers, we got the Peg Perego Pliko P3 when I was looking for a smaller, lighter stroller as compared to my Chicco. At that time we looked at the Maclaren's, but none had a snack tray, which I really preferred. The Pliko folds-up like an umbrella, has a snack tray, a full recline, and also a huge sunshade....all these things sold me. We :love: this stroller in Disney. It was perfect. When we go down in September with Brady, even if I get another smaller umbrella stroller, we will bring the Pliko with us. Can't wait to read your pre-trip report!!!

Nicole - Last night was the first night of putting him to bed with the crib turned backwards. It actually worked-out better than I anticipated. I just put him in from the side...no problem at all. :thumbsup2 When he woke up this morning, he was crying because I think he was discombobulated (don't think I have ever spelled that before! :laughing: ) and wanted to stand/look-out the front and it was too high now. But, I think he will get used to it. No attempts to get out from the side, though! So that was good!!!

Becky - I also have a million diaper bags, but use my big Coach one (:lovestruc ) the most. It's the best one, and I feel like if I use it the most DH will feel justified that it cost soooooooo much. ;)

********************************************************

Just back from swim lessons....I think Brady drank half the pool today. :rolleyes: We are working on blowing bubbles in the pool, but he just opens his mouth and lets all the water in!!! Oh - and update on potty training - he has gone in the potty 3 times in the last 5 days. So, good progress...just not consistent. But, he is learning, right?

Becky, the cupcakes are cute! I love doing cupcakes for parties, especially since 2 friends have cupcake trees that I can borrow.

For a smaller diaper bag, I picked up a smallish black diaper bag at Target that looks something like a large purse. It's got a detachable shoulder strap plus handles, and a few pockets on the inside for sorting stuff. It's large enough for a board book, a diaper, a few wipes, a snack, and my "basic" purse stuff (wallet, sunglasses, keys, cell phone and inhaler) with a little room left over for extras, but it's not nearly as big as our lands' end backpack diaper bag. Works really well for short outings. I just need one of those purse organizers that I can move between bags so I don't have to keep digging around to find all my stuff as I switch bags.

Our umbrella stroller is a cheap kolcraft, but I like it. It's got an adjustable sun hood and a pouch on the back, and it steers well. It's too short for DH to push comfortably, but since I'm the one who uses it the most, it's not a big deal. I love it for our bus adventures, since it's super light and small when I need to carry both Owen and the stroller onto the bus by myself. I think the bus drivers and passengers also appreciate that I'm not trying to bring a monster stroller on! ;)

Bethany- welcome back- looks like a great time was had by all. How cute is Owen in those pics! is his hair really red? i can't wait to see even more photos!!! Yep, Owen's hair is red. It's sort of a strawberry blond/brown color - I don't know how to describe it, but it's a light reddish brown. I have auburn hair and DH was a blond back in the day, so it's a mix of our colors. Owen's hair gets a lot of attention! I hope he doesn't mind it as he gets older.

I'm like you - I hate crying in front of anyone, including DH! He gives me a hard time because he cried in front of me 3 times before he ever saw me shed a tear, and of course being a guy it's not like he cries all that often. Now I can't even watch a fictional tv show if a baby gets hurt. I have to tell DH to turn it off or I have to leave the room, and then I have to watch something silly to get my mind off of the poor baby.

You'll be in my neck of the woods this week! Sorry you'll land in so much rain, although it sounds like we might dry out this weekend. SF is always so chilly, but it's a fun city and has lots of good food. DH hates going up there, though, since the parking is wretched.

Okay, I think I'm all set for the sale this weekend. My friend is picking me up to go drop our stuff off in an hour, and I've got 224 items all tagged and ready to go! Woo hoo! If everything sells at full price I'll get over $400, but I seriously doubt that will happen. I'll be happy to get $150 back, although $200 would be awesome.

Hey Guys ... I'll update later this afternoon when DS is down for a nap. We are back from WDW and had a blast. I seriously under-estimated how hard it would be with him by myself but once we figured it out it was fine!!!

Stroller - We have a Pliko P3 as well. I got my for $170ish from albeebaby.com in the Fall. It was last years model ... I really like it. I like the snack tray because DS still uses that but it folds up to a much nicer size than the big Chicco I had before. I would like to get a BJCM or BJC classic but I figure I will wait for the next baby before buying a more expensive stroller. I will hopefully get the double then. One thing with the P3 though, it's getting harder to steer with one hand. With a full diaper bag in WDW and DS who weighs close to 35lbs it was hard to turn with one hand. If I had something in my hand I needed to use that hand to try and guide it more. I'd like something that is easier to turn at the higher weights.

Diaper bag - I have a Coach bag that I use sometimes. I don't use it a lot because frankly I hardly ever get my hair and makeup done during the week and I feel funky walking around in a t-shirt, baggie shorts and a nice Coach bag. The picture just doesn't work!!! I use it when I get more put together and go out on the weekends with DH or something. I have a JJ Cole system bag that I really like for general use. I am feeling the itch for a new bag too but can't find anything I like.

I'll be back with personals, pictures and a little trip report!

First things first: I have a secret and I can't tell anyone IRL. So I'm telling you guys. :ssst:

My sister is pregnant!!!! She's 24 (will be 25 in June), and in a serious relationship, but they weren't quite expecting to be, well, expecting quite so soon. They just started the process of buying a house a couple of weeks ago, and planned on getting married eventually (sis didn't want to be remodeling a house AND planning a wedding), so this has thrown a little bit of a wrench in the plans, but I am so excited!!! :cool1: She called me last night and I knew before she even said 5 words what she was going to tell me! I asked, "Are you sure?" She said, "Well, Matt went to get another test, but I have taken 3 so far.... So yeah, I'm pretty sure." :laughing:

So, they are ok with it. It isn't ideal timing, and they certainly weren't planning it, but I know they are going to be just fine. Her bf is a great guy. And I get to be an aunt again!!! :love: But she hasn't told any family yet- she made an appt with the OB today for March 17th, and they are leaving for vacation tomorrow- going to FL for Cardinals spring training (and no, she's not going to go see Mickey Mouse- boo). They plan on telling everyone after her dr's appt, so I have to keep my fat mouth shut until then. :rolleyes1
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Thanks for the compliments on the cupcakes. I really enjoy doing them, but this year I was just out of time to make them too fancy. Oh well. I'll save the really fancy stuff for a birthday Vaylie might remember. :laughing: (And yes, Nicole, it is two cake stands stacked on each other :thumbsup2 ).
Well, we had her 2 year check-up today. It went well! I was shocked- normally she freaks out at the Dr's office, but she did pretty good. For one, I have got to give MAJOR kudos to the woman who gave V her shot- she was amazing. She gave Vaylie a book to read, and then she leaned really far onto Vaylie and blocked Vaylie from seeing what she was doing, jabbed the needle, Vaylie started to cry and the woman whipped out a sticker, and Vaylie got completely distracted- seriously, she only cried for about 2 seconds, and that was it! :eek: :woohoo: I told the woman what a great job she did, I was impressed! Anyway- Vaylie is 24lbs, 11 oz (25th percentile) and 33 1/4 in tall (35th percentile)- so yep- still a teeny tiny peanut. :cutie: But the ped said she's proportional, and following the curve, so she's doing good! We talked about potty training and all that good stuff, so everything went well!
Re: diaper bags- I think I might buy either a Ju Ju Be "BeSmall" or "BeTween" bag- these look perfect! Smaller than a regular diaper bag, but big enough for a snack, some diapers, some wipes, a sippy cup, and my stuff! Now I just have to make a decision. That's the hard part.
Re: crying- I'm a crier. I can't help it. I cry if I'm stressed, really happy, really mad, sad, whatever. Most of the time it's in check- I have a good cry every couple of months, but when I was pregnant, ohmygosh- I cried at everything! :lovestruc And now, I cannot handle bad news about babies/kids- abductions, abuse, etc. And I can't handle movies/tv shows where something bad happens to kids. :sad1:
kgle - sounds like you are going to have a great time in WDW! Happy birthday to Rylan! What a great cake you made last year, I am nowhere near that creative. Last year's cake was pitiful, and I overcooked this year's. :sad2:
Becky - Is Vaylie feeling better yet? What a great experience you had at the ped! Congrats on your sis's pregnancy! How exciting for Vaylie to have a new little cousin! If I stopped taking bcp and tried to warn DH to stay away for fear of another baby, he would stay away for all of 5 minutes before he changed his mind! :lmao: Oh, and I'm a total crier too! I cry all the time at just about anything. Grey's Anatomy makes me cry at least every other episode. Some disney commercials even make me cry. :blush:
Jenny - I can't believe Noah is sleeping on a mat already, I just can't picture Alex staying in any bed without bars, and he is 2 already! I hope everything turned out ok with the mole.
Nicole - I have a different problem with the walmart cheap clothes. The ones that are long enough for Alex are way to big in the waist and there is no drawstring or anything to hold them up. :sad2: I think Alex started getting into watching a movie most of the way through around maybe 20-22 months. He would only watch tv for a few minutes at a time before that, then get up and run around. :dance3: As for the diaper changing, we often have to resort to using 2 people, one to change the diaper and one to pin Alex down! If there isn't a 2nd person around, we bribe him with things we wouldn't normally let him have, like a real cell phone or the tv remote.
Kreile - Yay on Caleb sleeping in his crib!
Bethany - that's too bad about your reaction to medications, must make it difficult. At least you recognize the pms and try to manage it!
Kelly - I thought the same thing before we went to the doc's then we were so busy that morning trying to get out the door on time, that I forgot to give him tylenol first. :guilty: Love the idea to turn the crib around - I hope it works for a little while at least!
Michelle - Alex is doing better, only lasted that day pretty much. No travel soon. Our budget was cut majorly along with any unnecessary travel, which is probably most of my travel. :banana: My boss just likes me to make an appearance once in awhile, but I asked him about it today, and he said we'll see how my schedule looks next quarter, so none until at least April, probably May. I'm kind of disappointed because a bunch of other people I know around the country will be in LA the week after next and I won't be there for a change. It would have been nice to see some of them. Too funny on Will slapping himself to stay awake! Have a good trip! I'll go check out your PTR next!
***************
Alex is doing much better, no more side effects from the shot. But now I am remembering some of the things I wanted to discuss with the ped that didn't come up and I forgot about. He kind of rushed out of the room and I had to stop him as it was to ask one of my questions, so I'm not really thrilled with this ped's office. He also always takes the opportunity to preach against drugs, sex, and porn (Alex is 2!), and this time told us how watching even educational tv and playing educational computer games will eventually turn into looking for porn on the internet. WTH?!? I think I will look for a new ped before his next appt, luckily that's not until next year!
On a funny note, the neighborhood kids have started coming over every day asking if Alex can come out and play. :laughing: Most of them are between 5-9, and there is only one little girl that is 3, everyone else is much older. I like to take him out to play, but b/c he's so young I have to go with every time and some nights I just don't feel like it, or I have things I have to do!
:confused3 So now Sesame Street is a "gateway" show into the lurid worlds of sex, drugs, and porn? :lmao:
I love our ped. She has a 3 yr old, 2 yr old, and her baby is around 5 months old. I have no idea how she does it, but it's nice because she is going through the same stuff with her kids at the same time, so she can definitely relate about food issues, potty training, etc- because she has the same things going on at home!
:confused3 So now Sesame Street is a "gateway" show into the lurid worlds of sex, drugs, and porn? :lmao:
Didn't you know? Let's not even get into Barney or Blue's Clues! :lmao:
I really liked our ped back in IL, b/c he had young kids too. This guy just seems so out of touch!
Wow, I knew there was a reason I didn't allow Barney on in our house! :lmao: But then again, Owen is a totally Blue's Clue's addict...he even uses a sign for "Blue's Clues" when he wants to watch it and will crawl over to me, look up and say his version of "blue's clues" (I swear I'm the only one who understands him, but I know that's what he's saying) and does this little sign just like they do on the show when they sing the song and say blue's clues. So now I've started him on the road to porn...lovely! :rotfl2:
~~~~~~~~
I'm so excited...tonight is the sellers only preview sale for the Outrageous Outgrowns event!!! We got all my stuff dropped off last night (thank heaven the rain stopped before we got there), and I picked up my tickets for tonights presale. The friend I go with every time to the presales told me she won't have her wagon to haul all our loot this time, though. :scared: So I think I'm going to bring a rolling suitcase to carry all my finds. I don't want to get weighed down with stuff...this is one of those sales where you have to move fast to get the best bargains. There usually isn't anyone pushing or shoving or anything like that, but you do have to boogie to beat the crowds and people will snatch stuff away from right under your nose if you aren't touching it.

Nothing like hunting for bargains to get my adreneline pumping! :rotfl:

:confused3 So now Sesame Street is a "gateway" show into the lurid worlds of sex, drugs, and porn? :lmao:
I KNEW there was something up with Bert and Ernie. :lmao:

Here are a few pictures from our trip and a couple from today! We had a good time. I seriously under-estimated taking a 22 month old there alone. Once I got into the grove of being alone with him 24/7 away from home it was fine! He even slept in the hotel, though I had to put him in the pack n play. I was going to try him in the bed with rails but since I was in the same room he was having none of that!!

I promise to catch up with personals tomorrow ... I promise.

Bethany - Sounds like you are all set for your sale!!! Good luck - I hope you find lots of good stuff and sell all of your stuff!! :thumbsup2

DMickey - The pics are soooooooooooo cute!!!

Becky - That is awesome about your sister!! Your secret is safe with me! :laughing: Sounds like Vaylie's appointment went well and that you scored with a GREAT nurse!!

Pollito - I literally :lmao: reading about your ped. Too funny! I wonder what he will talk to you about once Alex is a pre-teen? ;) And too cute eabout the neighborhood kids! That is adorable!!

*******************************************************
Nothing too new going on today for me. My mom and I went to Target since they had these cute toddler chairs on sale, and my mom wanted to get one for her house. So I take Brady out of the stroller to "try it out"...and he gets in it, leans over the arm, and flips himself off it onto the floor. :headache: He was fine, but kept screaming "boo boo" at the top of his lungs. Once we knew he was fine, we couldn't stop laughing. It was cute, but sad. :rolleyes: After some goldfish and his juice, he made a full recovery. :)

But then again, Owen is a totally Blue's Clue's addict...he even uses a sign for "Blue's Clues" when he wants to watch it and will crawl over to me, look up and say his version of "blue's clues" (I swear I'm the only one who understands him, but I know that's what he's saying) and does this little sign just like they do on the show when they sing the song and say blue's clues.

So cute! Alex did the same hand thing, opening and closing by the face, right? And his first version of Blue's Clues sounds more like "Foos Foos" and nobody else could understand him. And I did not get why he kept doing the hand thing cuz I had never paid attention when the show was on before! :rotfl: Have fun at your sale tonight!

DMickey - Alexander looks so cute with the dog, and he did well with the characters! Alex watched Rafiki for a good 5 minutes, and there were no other kids around at all, but he just would not go close enough for a picture!

Kelly - poor Brady! Alex always makes an extra big scene when he falls in public, but at home he usually gets up without crying, go figure! :rolleyes:

*****************

So I'm way behind the times, and I finally signed up on Facebook this week (already found a few of you!), but I am so excited because my best friend from childhood found me and she is due with her first baby in 2 weeks! :yay: Seriously, I knew this girl since I was about 3 weeks old and she was 1 week old. We grew apart after her family moved away before high school, but still ran into each other occasionally, but I hadn't seen her at all in almost 5 years since her wedding shower.

It was so funny that day too, b/c we hadn't seen each other in probably 4-5 years, and we show up that day wearing almost the same thing! :laughing: Our moms are good friends too and they were dying laughing! I'm just sad that she's back in Chicago again now that I moved away from there and I probably won't get to see the baby in person for a while, but it's so great to hear from her again!

Pollito - I reunited with my childhood best friend last year! I actually wrote her a letter via her mom but we had not spoken in over 9 years. We had a falling out 12 years ago and has sporadic contact after that for a few before we just stopped talking. It is so nice to be back in touch though she is so busy we hardly ever talk still. It was neat seeing each other last summer.

Don't you guys just love facebook? I finally broke down and joined in Jan and its been so much fun finding everyone from years ago. I wasn't very good at keeping in touch when I went away to college so this is a good time but be careful I'm addicted. I even have it on my phone which is very dangerous since I don't get a whole lot of work done because I have to check when my little red light blinks. LOL

Noah is doing great this week. he's been at school everyday and eating like a little horse. I guess after two weeks of not wanting food he's catching up this week. I swear if its not moving he's eating it. They even commented on it at the daycare about how well he's eating this week. He has never been a bog napper during the day and it was always a fight for them to get him down but this week with the mat he's been great. They said that he eats lunch and then plays for about 30 minutes then he gets his bottle and once thats done he goes and gets his dog and lays on the mat and is out. Of course its only for about 45 minutes but its better then before.

Hope everyone else has a great sunny weekend like we're going to have. I hope to take Noah to the park tomorrow so he can really play. We stayed out yesterday for about 2 hours with the neighbor kids and he had a great time chasing them around and catching bubbles. LOL they are so cute at this age.

oh I Know...I am soo completely addicted to facebook too. My friend finally made me complete signing up in Jan and I have been completed since. It is amazing who your "friends" are ont here...since a lot of them I probably didn't even really talk to in high school. But i feel bad if somebody wants to be my friend...I accept them even though I really don't know who they are...I mean I know who they are...i just never really knew them...but I didn;t want it to be like high school where there were definitely cliques you know??

NOt much new with Caleb. HE went to school for the 1st time yesterday. Well my MIL was reading to my nieces 1st grade class and my SIL kept Caleb in the office. My SIL works in the school office. She said he did realy good and everybody fussed over him which I am sure he loved! :laughing:
He sounds really congested in his chest and that is only at some times. He is barely coughing and not running a fever but has had this for a while now. My MIL is thinking that we need to take him to the dr since its been awhile but its not bothering him at all. Who knows.

I'm on Facebook, too. I worked at a camp for about 10 years (my dream job in many ways except for the wretched pay) and supervised dozens of college students and international students but lost track of most of them, and a friend told me she was finding a lot of them on facebook so I signed up. It really is neat to reconnect with old friends, even if we only send each other messages every once in a while. I still like knowing they're out there and hearing about what they've been up to since I last saw them IRL.

Polito, that's right - the little open and close your hands by your head sign is exactly what Owen does! It's so cute, although for months it was one of only 2 signs the stinker would use. I started working on teaching him some sign language when he was 6m, figuring by the time he had the coordination to copy me he'd be used to seeing the signs and would pick up on it. Nope. He created his own sign that was sort of a cross between waving bye and the sign for "milk" and used it to mean everything: please, thank you, all done, more, hungry, drink, I want that, etc. etc. We call it his "aloha" sign since it means so many different things. And then the nut watches Blue's Clues once a day for a couple weeks and instantly picks up that sign and for months would either use his "aloha" or blue's clues signs and nothing else! :rolleyes: But finally in the last couple weeks he's started using more signs and words, so now he has a vocabulary of about 6 signs and 20 words.

oh, and the neighborhood kids coming over is hysterical! :laughing:

DMickey, I love the photos! Alexander is so cute, and I just love his eyes! That's great that he slept well in the hotel for you. When we were at DLR, Owen kept waking up too early so I'd bring him into bed with me for a little while, but he never sleeps well with me anymore. I thought it was hard taking Owen to DL without DH, but it was nice having our friends along to help out a little. It wasn't quite the same as having DH with us, though, although once I found a rhythm and made some adjustments in our routines it worked out pretty well.

Becky, that's great about your sister! Congratulations on being an aunt again soon! :) Wow, that nurse sounds awesome!! If only they trained every nurse to give shots like that...

Kelly, Brady's "boo boo" is so funny! And nothing like a little juice and goldfish to cure what ails a boy. ;)

Jenny, that's great that Noah is doing better. I'm still in awe that he naps on a mat like that!

And Hi to everyone!

~~~~~
Well the seller presale last night was a madhouse! It just gets crazier and crazier every time. The doors opened at 7 and we got there at 6:40 and there were already about 30 people ahead of us. By the time the doors opened the line was at least 100+ people long. People would hand over their ticket for the sellers-only sale at the door and then run to get the best stuff first. It was just nuts!
I spent $160, but had only wanted to spend $100, so whoops! :rolleyes1 But I mean really, $4 for a gymboree button up shirt in pristine condition is an awesome deal! (I bought 4 of those...Owen is so cute in little button up shirts like that!) I also scored on some Blue's Clues toys that have been going on eBay for over $10/ea (used) - got those gently used for $3 each. And I got him a brand new little picnic backpack play set for $5 - it has plates, mugs, utensils, and a thermos in a cute little backpack and is all bright primary colors - still with the tags on it!
I almost scored a pair of mickey crocs, but this woman grabbed them right as I was reaching for them. :mad: They were only $3, too! I even tried on a few pairs of the Mickey crocs myself, since I have such small feet, but they were all just a hair small so I had to pass, despite the tempting $6 price tag.
I didn't see anyone buying any of my stuff yet, but I really wasn't looking in any of the areas where it was selling. I decided to just get rid of all my maternity and nursing stuff because we're 98% certain we're done. I did see that there was hardly any nursing stuff for sale, so I'm hoping that means mine will go quickly. I'm hoping to stop in on Sunday for the 1/2 price sale day and do a check through my stuff then to see what it looks like. I think I may have overpriced a few things given the current economic mood, so I'm trying to not get my hopes up. It would be nice to make a little profit so I can start restocking my disney fund! :)
Becky, congrats to your sister! How exciting!
Bethany, way o go on your finds. I hope your stuff sells (and for a big profit)! :wizard:
DMickey, love the photos! Alexander is a cutie.
Pollito, I can't believe your ped said that; that is just crazy.
Jenny, I am impressed he sleeps on a mat! I don't think Spencer would stay on a mat.
I am on Facebook too! I have to take more time out to use it though.
Well, we picked up Spencer's cakes today. I LOVE the one, but I am not thrilled with the smash cake. The sheet cake is a dino theme. They didn't have the kit dinosaurs, so they just did the coloring and we will add our own dinos (this also saved us around $20). Orginally, I was just going to have a plain white smash cake for Spencer, but they said they would make it match. Well, it doesn't exactly. It is blue with orange writing and border. Yes, the big cake has an orange border, but they cakes together just look strange to me. Oh well, he's just going to destroy it anyway.
We were able to find a learning table on clearance for $15 (normally $40). It teaches numbers, letters, words, colors (in both English and Spanish) so he will be able to use it for a while (at least I hope).
Amber - have fun with Spencer and the cake. Christopher wasn't really into the smashing part. And apparently he didn't like frosting then either :confused3 He would just bite the cake part and then put it down again.
Bethany - sounds like fun! We have a sale like that twice a year. There used to be tons of good bargains, but it has gotten so big that it's almost not worth going. You need to get there about 1-2 hours early, there's no parking, and everyone is pushing and shoving. For the aggravation, I'll keep clearance shopping :)
I'm doing the Facebook thing too! It's fun to see where everyone ended up, especially since I see so few of them in real life.
Amber - I am sure Spencer will love the smash cake!! Alex really liked his but was a little skeptical at first.
Bethany - That sale sounds SOOOO cool. I wish we had stuff like that here. I live in a very stuffy area ... ick.
Jen - I read above that Christopher was really trying to talk more. That's awesome!! Alexander still doesn't have many words that sound different from one another but he's really trying and babbling a lot so that makes me feel good. I keep trying to set up an appointment for a full evaluation but no one calls me back. Annoying. I just got the bill for his eye exam ... OUCH ... it is $235 AFTER the insurance discount since they don't pay for it until the deductible is met. I refuse to go to the doctor until after April first so I can start getting this stuff on next year's deductible that I will hopefully put a new baby on too!!
No BFP for me this month. I am ok. I figure we had a cycle that was perfectly timed even if my LP was a little on the shorter side and even then it's only a 25% chance so we are going to continue trying really hard for a few more months before going back to the doctor. I will get DH to do an SA through our fertility clinic in May if nothing by then. I am going to do better with my eye mask this cycle, I started red raspberry tea, vitex and will up my NPC during my LP this time. I didn't want to do the NPC because honestly it smells so bad but I think I need to up the dose and give it a chance to help my LP.
I did a HUGE splurge today ... I bought DH and I dry aged rib-eyes at Whole Foods for $22.99/lb. OMG ... it was over $50 total for the two steaks. Please pray with me that I don't over cook them!!! He had such a horrible day at work yesterday and is working so hard at this stupid company and they are paying him pennies while his PARTNER is making over $300/year so I felt bad. I told him I bought them because I was so proud of him, had faith in him and love him for taking care of us. He is not one that cares ONE SECOND what I spend but I felt bad!!
Oh BTW ... look me up on facebook. Christina Sherman Oats. I need friends!! :-)
