Wow! Lots going on.

Today is Vaylie's 2nd Birthday!! princess: I can hardly believe it. DH stayed up forever last night putting her kitchen together, but it is so cute. And today we were going to go out for lunch, but I figured if Vaylie could tell me what she wanted to do, she'd probably just love to stay home and play kitchen with mommy and daddy, so we're going to bake cupcakes for her parties (1 tonight, 1 tomorrow), and play all day. :goodvibes

Denise --
As for your lifestyle - if you are tired of living it -- then make a change. If you want a change and DH doesn't - sit down with him and have a rationale discussion. Just because he's the man does not mean he is in charge - marriage is a partnership. From what you have said on this thread before - your lifestyle seems to have alot of rules/restrictions -- if those rules and restrictions are causing you grief, stress, sadness, unhappiness....then change them -- don't do them anymore - you can still be religious without having to endure rules and restrictions. I really think that if your lifestyle is causing you that kind of stress - then its at least worth revisiting that lifestyle choice and maybe making a change - keep in mind its a choice -- its not a requirement -- you can opt to make a new choice anytime you want! (and by that I am not saying you should not beleive in God - I am just saying the way you express your belief/love of God can change/doesn't have to be so restrictive). Good luck.

Denise- I completely and totally agree with Nicole. Religion should be uplifting and inspiring, it should not be a source of stress and distress, and if your lifestyle is causing you so much stress (the loneliness, the restrictions, etc.) then maybe you should consider a switch, or find a compromise that feels comfortable to you. In my opinion, religion doesn't have to be black and white, right or wrong- honor God, be a good person, and enjoy this life you have been blessed with. I'm sorry things are tough right now. Hang in there. When one door closes another one opens- you just have to look a little.

Bethany- the pics of Owen are so cute- love the one of him sleeping. Glad you guys had a good time at DL! I'm still scheming to work in a trip this year.

Kelly- are those Garanimals? We always buy Vaylie a bunch as play clothes. They are cute, cheap, and if she gets them too dirty or stained, I don't freak because they didn't cost much. And I hear ya on being done with winter. We're supposed to get snow today. Boo.

Nicole- sorry you guys are all sick! I just finished my antibiotics, and I feel a lot better. But my doc (female) is pretty cautious about handing out antibiotics- she will, but they really have to be warranted. They made me take OTC meds for 7 days before I could even be seen! :headache:

Amber- that car is adorable!! Vaylie has a Princess 4-wheeler for toddlers, but she's scared of it. She got it for Christmas, so hopefully by this spring she'll be more into it, because it's so darn cute.

Meredith- looks like the twins had a good time! Vaylie is constantly trying to sneak a bite of play-doh. She succeeded once, while my back was turned, and I turned around, and she was chewing and she did NOT look like she was enjoying it. Maybe that will teach her.

Hi to anyone I missed. :surfweb: I need to get off here and get showered and ready for the day. I've been up since 5:45 am. I can't sleep, even though I really would like to!

:cheer2: Happy 2nd Birthday, Vaylie!! princess:

Man, Becky! Is she 2 already?!! Seems like just a few months ago you started the TTC thread, and now here you are with a 2 yr. old! How did that happen? ;)

Well I just realized that the big "outrageous outgrowns" consignment sale is NEXT WEEKEND! Yikes!!! I haven't finished washing and tagging all of my stuff to sell, and I am no where near ready to drop it off on Wednesday. :scared: And of course Owen is being mama-clingy because he's teething. I think the 2 molars on the left side are coming in to match the pair that popped through on our trip. :sad2: Poor kiddo. DH is feeling rejected because Owen wants me and has to be persuaded and distracted to stay with daddy. :guilty: I keep telling him that his turn will come, but he really missed his boy while we were gone, and now he wants to spend lots of time with Owen and Owen just wants mommy.

But I have a ton to do, and I need to get busy so I'm ready...and I need to go through all of Owen's clothes and figure out what I need to buy to get us through to the next sale in the fall. Stuff is so cheap and in great condition, so this is my big "stock up on Owen clothes" event. I usually spend about $100 and get 30-40 items - basically all of his wardrobe for the next size/season plus a few "this is too cute to pass up" things. DH used to think I spent too much money, but then he started looking at prices on clothes in the store and he realized that the $3 per item average was a darn good deal! ;)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY VAYLIE!! :cheer2:

I am going up to WDW on Monday. I am so excited. DS and I are staying at Pop while DH works/stays at the Gaylord. It was only $69/night!! I am going to get the Florida play pass for $99! So excited ... I finally decided and booked it today. I am going to bring most of DS's food with me so it shouldn't cost too much extra!!

Happy Birthday Vaylie! :cheer2: :cheer2:

Denise - Sorry to hear about your troubles. You did not hurt your family, and I'm sure everything will work out for the best. Some of the other ladies already gave some great advice that I hope you will consider.

Kelly - cute pics of Brady in the closet, that's a pretty good size closet. I wish we had something like that in our room at CSR in December. Great deal on the clothes at Wal-Mart, I should head over and get some, especially since shorts season is already starting here - it's supposed to be in the 90s this week! :scared1:

Bethany - love Owen in the Mickey ears! We couldn't get Alex to wear them at all, with or without the strap - not even long enough for a picture. Alex gets the same way as Owen with clinginess with one parent when the other has been away for awhile. It's really hard being the one to come home after being gone and want to hug your little boy and he says, "No! Go Mommy!" and runs to Daddy. :sad1:

Meredith - Looks like the twins had a great time painting. I think Alex would really like it, but I am so worried about the mess, especially in my new house. Maybe we can try it outside some time.

Nicole - scary experience with your doctor! I would have been beyond mad! Maybe if your DH tried asking his doc if he could slip you in and explain the situation with your doc. My last doc was great, but he wouldn't give antibiotics freely, since that can create all kinds of problems. But he would give them when really needed. :thumbsup2

Jenny - That is really weird what's happening with Noah. Maybe he's licking or eating something at the daycare, then getting it out of his system?

DMickey - have fun at Pop! I think you might be right about Alexander being too big for a PnP. The ones at WDW are smaller than the one I have at home, and my Alex barely fit in December, and I think your Alexander is a little bigger. :goodvibes

Amber - love the pic of Spencer eyeing Eeyore approaching - too funny! :rotfl:

Becky - I hope Vaylie's parties went well without too much drama! I tried to make Alex's day about him too, doing things he likes best, watching Cars, going to the park, playing Cars, watching Cars again, notice a pattern? :lmao:

How is the birthday weekend going Becky?

Pollito - We bring our own pnp which I will just incase but I will probably just plop him in the bed!!! :-)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY VAYLIE!! :cheer2:

So excited ... I finally decided and booked it today. I am going to bring most of DS's food with me so it shouldn't cost too much extra!!

How exciting!!! :woohoo: :dance3: :yay: You guys will have an awesome time!!! Take lots of pics!!

Thanks for all the birthday wishes! :goodvibes

Well, so far so good with the parties. We had DH's side last night, and that went well (although I don't worry about DH's side, it's my side of the family that makes me :scared: ).

Vaylie is on a Monsters, Inc. jag right now. We watch "Boo" a lot. She LOVES her kitchen, but how's this for a sign of the times?: She starts playing with it, then she's looking at it, all over, and turns to me and says, "Turn it on?" Um, this one doesn't talk, blink, sizzle, ring, or make any other obnoxious electronic noise, kiddo- you have to use your "imagination." And she was kind of disappointed that real water didn't come out of the faucet (it does look pretty realistic). But, other than that- she loves it. And it looks so nice.

So- since I have been on my FlyLady thing, the house has been in pretty good shape, so it has only taken DH and I about 30 minutes to get the house ready for company today!! So, now I have to go bake cupcakes and I guess sit around and wait for everyone to get here. My grandma and sis are coming over early, and I have to run to wal-mart (ugh).

DMickey- that's great about the trip! :yay:

Pollito- I want warm weather! :sad1: The high today is 34. I'm feeling all cooped up and I know Vaylie is too- she loves to be outside.

Bethany- that's great to get such good deals. Especially for little kids- sometimes they hardly wear things, or barely get them dirty.

Hi ladies!

Well, I have 4 applications out there and I'll work on more Tuesday. I've decided, I'm FINISHED with the food service industry. I'm going to check in to this new restaurant that opened considering after training it will be fast money, but as soon as I'm called by someone else...I'M GONE. I thought about it last night...every job I've been fired from, and that's been 4 over my 22 years of employment has been from the food service industry. :headache: Think I need to pay attention. And all the reasons for being fired...COULDN'T CONTROL MY TEMPER. :guilty: Never stole, not insubordinate to management, never continuously late, rarely called out, and didn't take any product that I didn't pay for. All the retail jobs, I NEVER got as worked up as I did in the food service.
As for my faith "stuff"....I'm working it. I've found some solutions that have been there all along, but I refused to see it. I did some things Friday in violation of my faith and as upset as I was, it still bugged me that I did it. Restrictions aren't always bad, IF you know how to deal with it and work with it. :thumbsup2
SO...keep your fingers crossed for me and Mo-Mo and I'll keep you all posted. I have to go to the Dept of Children and Families on Tuesday to work on something with my application. Hope I can get Medicaid and Food Stamps. Even if I get a job with insurance, I think I'll hold that Medicaid considering. Thanks for being there girls. Blessings to you all. :flower3: :grouphug:

Am I allowed to sneak in here? I'm not technically a "new mom" anymore as DS will be 3 in a month...but I miss talking to other moms!

kgle - WELCOME!! OMG, none of us are new mom's anymore. Vaylie just turned 2, the twins are over one and mine is 22 months!!! I am hoping we get some graduates from the Mom to be board soon! We need some babies around here.

How are you finding motherhood? Don't stay away from us just because our kids are older ... we love answering questions and chatting. Hopefully a few of us are not too far away from TTC #2 (3,4,5,6...)

Becky - Glad to hear the first party went well! Hopefully today was also a success!! I am sure Vaylie will have fun no matter what! Brady is also a big Monsters Inc. fan. We just put it on last week for him, and now he loves it!! Thank god because I was getting a bit sick of watching The Polar Express....his #1 fav movie....still..... I swear I'll be watching this movie all year round!

kgle - Welcome! :goodvibes Your stroller-swap thing in your siggie interested me....I had never heard of it before. Great idea. I went over to the budget board and saw all the other one's too. I had no idea this kind of stuff even existed on here! We still need ours in the aiport for Brady, though. But maybe in the future I will take advantage of it!

Denise - Glad to hear that things are looking up for you. :flower3: Yes, maybe finding something other than food service would be better. I waited tables at an Applebee's during college, and while it was nice to walk away with cash each night, I hated it!! What about contacting a temp agency?? Sometimes placements with those types of places lead to permanent positions!

*********************************************************

Well, we are waiting around here for a big storm tonight....I think we could get up to 12 inches of snow! The schools up here are dying...they have had so many snow days due to a huge ice storm in December, and then various other storms since then. Many have taken away all single-day holidays, or cut vacations short. Looks like tomorrow will be another snow day. The kids are going to be in school until the 4th of July!!

Oh - what do you ladies use as an umbrella stroller? Because I have a shopping issue with strollers :rolleyes1 , I am curious what you ladies like. I have a Pliko P3, and while I love it....I wonder if I would prefer something smaller for quick shopping trips. I was looking at the Chicco Capri and the Maclaren Volo and Triumph. The Chicco is way cheaper, but I don't want to get it if it is just going to fall apart, YKWIM? So what does everyone use? popcorn::

Haha! Well I guess I can kinda intro myself. My name is Kara, I am 25, and my monster's name is Rylan :) He turns 3 April 6th! I am a single mom and currently attending school full time. Hopefully I get accepted to the nursing program this fall :scared:

Definitely NO TTC for me any time soon! I have been kinda seeing someone for a little over a month on and off. He's a wonderful guy and adores Rylan but just like most guys my age- he is scared of commitment  at least in this point of his life.

I'll tell ya, this mom thing would be way easier if I had a manual. WHICH I did find at a store one time. I wish I would have bought it, it was hilarious!

I had never ever heard of a stroller swap until I joined this board and started perusing the budget board. Its pretty neat :) I can't believe so many people have signed up for it.

Right now we just use a Kmart brand cheapie umbrella stroller and I hate it...which was why I wanted to buy a new one for Florida. I had originally purchased a Chicco Capri but didn't really like it much. I got the Triumph for the swap mainly because it reclines and it just looks comfy. I had Rylan ride around in it for a little while and its so lightweight and easy to push. I adore it. I am sad I have to share it with 15 other people

Denise- glad to hear things are looking up!

Becky-I am glad Vaylie had a great birthday!

Ladies, I am so excited! I am walking in the March of Dimes walk in April. Iam walking in a team with another Mom (maybe more) from our Twins club. I figured since I had Babies in the NICU, I might as well raise Money for a cause that helps premature babies! Our team goal is to raise $1000 and my personal goal is $200. I have a web page set up, and if anyone wants to donate you can go there (no pressure of course but I just wanted to put it out there). Here is my webpage:

http://www.marchforbabies.org/doubletrouble2

Anyway, thanks for listening :flower3: I am off to play with a certain pair of giggle boxes!

Kelly - I have a Pliko and a Triumph, and I love the Triumph so much more. Christopher doesn't really like the stroller much anymore, but if he has to be in one, that's his choice for which one. It's really light, folds up tiny, and is wicked easy to push. There isn't much room for storage though. I got it because of how tall and heavy he is. A lot of the umbrella strollers seem to have low weight limits, but the Triumph has a 45 lbs (or is it 55lb) limit. It seemed like I'd get more use from it.

kgle - welcome! I love the name Rylan - I've never heard it, but sounds really neat.

Becky - glad the party went well. I'd love to try the Flylady thing, but I'd probably never do it. I go on a cleaning jag about once a week, but don't have more time than that lately.

Denise- good luck

So Christopher is trying really hard to talk. Everything we say he tries to echo. He doesn't get all the sounds right, but the inflection matches ours. If I say something sing-songish, he will too.

I'm sort of up in the air about work right now. I'm working full time for the fire department (2 days a week), and part time as a PA (1 day and 1 morning a week). I just got an e-mail about the local hospital hiring PAs to work in the emergency room over the summer - just part time work. I've always wanted to work in the ER, but can't get into it around here with no experience. So, the experience would certainly help with getting into somewhere fulltime, but I would hate to spend even more time away from home. I definitely can't give up the other PA job, since the ER thing is only for the summer. The money would be nice too..... I know this would be the opportunity of a lifetime for me, but I hate taking up more time, you know?

Oh well, just venting.

Morning ladies. With the snow last night daycare doesn't open until 9 and then Noah has an ear recheck this afternoon so hopefully he'll make it through the little he's there today. He's off the antibiotics now and really does seem to be back to his normal self. He was great yesterday and we played hard all day long. Its so cute we're working on Mickey Mouse. I know he doesn't really talk yet but DH and I swear thats what he's saying. LOL I have a sweat shirt with all the characters on it and was wearing it yesterday and he kept pointing at Mickey. Well of course I said his name and then he would say it and point. Too cute. So I tried him later and said where's Mickey Mouse and he pointed at him on my shirt. I was so proud. Of course today he probably won't rememeber and I'll have to do all the work over again but it was still pretty funny.

kgle - welcome! I love the name Rylan - I've never heard it, but sounds really neat.

Thanks :)

And I love his name too, obviously  . I wanted something a little different but not too different ya know? Although he gets called Ryland and Ryan a lot :headache:
