The New,New Hotel Thread-Yes, We're STILL Waiting

My DH is in the auto industry as well and we will be lucky if we get to use our trip. Free dining just wouldn't do it for us. With the free room we can get our tickets and then just try to eat cheap for the week instead of doing all the expensive dining we usually do. I think it will work out better for us. If we get to use it. We still have to come up with the money for tickets, food and transportation.

We have done the eat cheap thing and we could get by when the kiddos were younger but we have a 16 DS and a 13 DD. Our last holiday trip DH and I ate mostly in the room and they ate all of the counter services they could and in the room. Free dining for us is over $150 in savings. It is just hard to eat for less than $100 a day with teens. With a little one you are right and you can go very cheep on that.

At 12:26 I got the video, entered my info, selected WL Woods, got to the payment screen and the state drop-down wouldn't work. Time ran out (but I did have plenty had they allow me to select my state).

I called customer service and a very nice, professional woman explained that tech service is handling all website issues (things that are occurring that aren't supposed to be happening). She gave me their email and also stated that I probably wouldn't recieve a response until tomorrow.

I work in customer service and I can say that I got good vibes from her.

I sent the email and we'll see what happens.

12:26 EST? I had 12:21 down in my notes as a time Ithought it might happen based on the video (although I don't know what made me htink this now) and so I was glued on the site at that time nd being impulsive, I walked away at 12:23 disscouraged. UHHHGGG!!!!!! I will survive this somehow!

Has anyone booked for end of June beginning of July at Disney? If so what types of hotels were available inthe promo??? anyhting that could fit 6 of us? Family Suite?

Also, (and please no morality police hop onthis) Can I cram 6 into a savannah view bunk bed room if my youngest is a tiny little 4 year old that could sleep with me and DH?

They will not let you book five people in a bunk bed room. If a child is under 3, they will let you. If you have six you are going to need 2 rooms. Sorry...I know that is not what you want to hear.

Wow what a guy! I don't think I could have gotten DH to go that far but at least he didn't get upset when he had to eat sandwiches for dinner each night! Of course now he doesn't mind at all that I got it.

What dates were you looking at for WL? I haven't heard of any deluxes for awhile. That would have been great. Sorry you didn't get it. Keep trying!

I'm looking at Jan 2010 for Marathon weekend (1/7 - 1/11). I think with shorter stays there is more of an opprtunity for Deluxe.

It is easier with a younger child. DD and I can split food most of the time at counter service and we take snacks and stuff for the room and can easily do breakfast in the room each day. DH hates having to get up earlier for breakfast anyway. The problem is he gets tired of the counter service food too and wants a good sit down meal sometimes too. Of course we did CA Grill last time at well over $100 with wine and desserts and stuff and Ohana at around what $70 and the meal at Ohana was better all around.

I was on chatango last night and someone said that they read on flyertalk that there is a limit to the amount. They thought it was about $1100. I think people here have booked for more value that that but, maybe there is some kind of $$ limit and that's why the deluxe are only showing for shorter stays?

For what its worth, I got a deluxe (savannah view bunk beds) for 3 nights - and I was worried that only values or mods would show up after I got in. Maybe there is something to the 3 or 4 night rule?

I wish I had known that a shorter stay might offer deluxes! D'oh.

I shouldn't complain when so many haven't gotten in at all. If I could offer someone else my stay, I sure would!

just wondering... I see that someone did some research and found some nasty info about LMT but no one seems to be paying any attention to this. has anyone here ever booked through LMT before now? Did you have a good experience?

I have I booked a trip to NYC with them last year... got a great price for a nice hotel in the city and Roundtrip flights- this was before the whole "undercover" thing... we had a great trip, but I will say that their customer service can be difficult.. there was a huge storm on the east coast the weekend we went, so our flight got cancelled and changed to the next day so instead of waiting, we went ahead and called the airline to refund the money; called LMT to refund the money for the flight and got a train up to NYC... LMT was NO help with our rescheduled/cancelled flight and didn't seem to understand what was going on... and the funny thing, Delta said we would be "refunded" full price for the tickets (it was almost $300) but since we went through a TA they would have to process the refund there... then LMT only refunded us $75 for our "Prorated" flight... that was my only issue... that being said, we didn't pay but $400 for the whole trip, so I knew it would be too good to be true to get that $300 back for the flight, but it would have made up for the extra $200 we had to spend to get to NYC by train that morning
