She was trying to have her baby early as in 20 degrees below zero early! First of all she isn't really due until March 21st but started labor on Feb 15th or so. So the vet gave her meds to stop her and sewed her up. Now that it is warmer the baby has a much better chance had she given birth in subzero temps we probably would have lost the foal or it would have been sleeping on my bed to keep it warm LOL

I did see that (and you will get to this state later I swear) I was :rotfl2::rotfl2:
When Coltons Beagle was a puppy she ate my kitchen cupboard doors, throw pillows, my rainboots, a garden hose, two branches off our artificial christmas tree, several stuffed animals, 2 TV remotes and the cord to our printer oh and don't forget my cellphone charger. We still love her and she grew out of it. I was so very angry & frustrated back then little bugger, but now they are all just funny stories she is a really good dog now that she is 3 years old but what a puppy! LOL

I like Beagles. Can be kind of yappy when they are young but great dogs when they are older. Does he hunt? Is his name snoopy?

So why do they sew up the cervix on the mare?

so do u name your farm animals? will the new horse be named?

If it is a filly Colton wants to name it Daisy (after his new girlfriend Daisy Duck) we liked it enough to agree...still have not come up with a boys name will be happy to take suggestions for Disney names for a little boy horse....

To keep her from dilating any further until the weather got better.

She was more than a bit yappy at the puppy stage but 2 days with a bark collar fixed that and she now only barks when appropriate. We tried to train her to hunt (Our lab does) but she is a little bit easily distracted and would just wander off following her nose not necessarily to what we were tracking and then we ended up hunting her instead. After two hunting seasons we decided we were too tired to take her again and she became "just" a pet. The lab hunts, the Aussie herds, the beagle sleeps in your lap.

Did that to stop the labor but she was already dilated enough to see little hooves...so stitches

Kinda like that....I have been getting some good ideas around the board...might have to scoop them all up & post a poll if we get a boy LOL

The other idea I liked so far was Phillipe like the horse in B&TB.

I love horses too. How nice that your mare will be foaling soon. What breed is she? And how old? Is she a brood mare only, or do you ride her too? Have I missed any pictures?

:)

Horace is a horse from an old Disney Cartoon. There are probably some horse on "Home on the Range" though I haven't seen it.

Perhaps choose to name, him/her after one of the horse that pull the trolley down Main Street USA in DL?

There are pics on my TR if you want to go see. I have three but I think only 2 are in pics on my TR. Rowan (the mother to be) is 4 years old and is a bay Quarterhorse, Bullseye is also 4 years old and is a Sorrel Quarterhorse and Skye is 4 years old and is a black & white paint (She is the one I don't think I have pics up of as we didn't have her last summer when I took pics of everybody else. There are some others on the TR too as my Mother & Sister also have horses and they all live as a herd. My Mom has two that are strictly broodmares but all mine are rideable.

I know who Horace is Horace Horsecollar used to date clarabelle cow and is currently on posters on the construction walls at DCA...just don't much like his name.

Not necessarily looking for the name of a cartoon Disney horse...Just a disney character...after all if it is a girl it's being named after a duck! However not a bad idea on the main street horses...Off to create a thread to see what all their names are only one I remember is Charlotte.
