Does it also open on Wednesday in Oz? It's an oddity in the US and only because of Thanksgiving that the weekend starts on Wednesday.

Your release date has been moved up to Thanksgiving from Christmas. No sign yet of a release date in Oz. It could still be Christmas or sometime in December.

Ok, I just though it would be odd if it were the same there as here, where the best movies come from and we get the pleasure of the first chance to see them.

Of course in the few theaters near me, they have limited deals with distributers and we miss a lot of films. Only when it's a huge movie do they get ones that aren't on the distributer deals. I've heard they usually loose money on those, speaking with a friend of the movie house owner.

The global distribution strategy depends on how the studio wants to play it. For some of the blockbusters, we get them released on Thursday before your Thursday e.g., the latest Twilight.



Well....it's Sunday afternoon here. The thing about having Friday a whole day earlier than you is that Monday seems to come round a lot quicker too.
