Hi guys! I am planning our next trip december 16-23rd, have any of you gone this time of year, I am wondering if the crowds stay down until Christmas or if it gets busy that week before. Thanks!

Hi Angel! I am NEVER lonely in Disney World - I have my Poly 'ohana to make me feel at home! Maybe you and I will still get to meet in May. I hesitate to say I have my trips planned perfectly, though - more like no plans, period. DH and I haven't had 10 minutes together this past week to figure out what we want to do, where we want to eat, etc. I told Jeff from the Poly on Sunday that I would e-mail a list of requests the next day and guess what? Haven't even gotten close! This will truly be "Donna does Disney by the seat of her pants!" Good thing we know our way around, I guess.

Donna... not to worry! This is exactly why you NEED concierge! Any pre-planning not done ahead of time is just the kind of thing they can help you with once you get your inspiration on-site!

KerryCM - Remember you promised to come visit me. VA is right next door to NC so come on by, there's plenty of room.

As for the weather, we only got about 1/2" here. The temp was miserable - only in the teens. They are calling for much heavier snow starting Saturday and continuing thru Sunday. If this happens, we'll all be eating REALLY well in the Lizard Lounge as I'm sure my guests would rather stay home then brave the country winding roads.

In my younger days, when I had just graduated from college and was low on the federal totem pole, I moonlighted working for a well-known caterer "Ridgewells" (the purple truck people). They taught me enough that eventually (2 years later) I started my own catering business and was able to buy my first house, outright. Then I moved up the federal totem pole and didn't have to moonlight anymore. But I love to cook and my new house is perfect for entertaining. Here's hoping we don't get the snow until either late Saturday night or Sunday. Of course, if my potential beau gets snowed in after he's here..................

dreamflight99 - This will be our second trip to Cabo - my sister and BIL own a timeshare there. They upgraded last year to a presidential suite at Hacienda del Mar so we will have lots of space! The grounds there are beautiful and it's fun to go into town to sample the many restaurants - the kids love bartering at the markets. We are going to try a snorkelling trip and the kids are also talking about horseback riding. Not me, however. I have this unreasonable but very real fear of horses. I think I'll be poolside with a
margarita!

GET OUT of TOWN!! Our friends just bought here last SPRING!! They LOVE this place, and can you blame them? It's incredible *(from all the photos, detailed accounts of their experiences and the website), we're about ready to sign-up ourselves!! LOL. I took the liberty of supplying the link, plus a couple of photos from the site. It's a slice of heaven!! The beaches look astoundingly clean and picturesque. Although I grew-up riding/showing (hunt/jump) horses, I'll opt for the Margarita poolside with you!! So, when should I pack my bags?

The rates are phenomenal! Especially when compared with other luxury resorts offering comparable accommodations and amenities.
You will have to post some reflections of your upcoming visit, upon returning.

dreamflight99 - Thanks for posting the pics and info - I was reminded of what I have waiting for me in a couple of days! My sister corrected me - we are in a penthouse suite which is wonderful because there are 4 adults and 3 kids. Dh and I get our own bedroom - YEAH! Not that I don't love my children but sleeping with DD13 should be an Olympic event. Pity her poor husband. I'll be sure to pass along experiences!

minniesota~That's GREAT news (you intend to post your experiences) and something to look forward to during these winter months! I had to laugh when you compared sleeping with your DD to an Olympic sport!! I have a niece, whom KICKS and PULLS the covers all night. My DS can not sleep with her, as she never gets any rest (but plenty of bruises and hypothermia). LOL. The penthouse sounds splendid, especially with your OWN bed!!

Alas, the weather has gotten the better of me and my dinner party. It's snowing outside now and it's 25º. They are calling for my area to get between 12 and 18 inches with temperatures in the single digits. Icalled everyone and we're all looking at our schedules to see when we can do it. Hopefully before my surgery and after this little storm but before the next!

Dreamflight I LOVED the pictures! And also the infinity pool. Since I'll be putting one in next spring, it was great to see what I can only aspire to, yet not afford.

we have a cl deluxe & i requested 4th floor. is there only 3 of those rooms on that floor?
also is there a height requirement/age limit on the pool slide?

Sorry to hear your plans were rearranged by the weather, mmausse. Sounds like the party we tried to have a few years ago. We planned a caroling party for the weekend before Christmas, but it was something like 18 below 0 that night. We went ahead with the party, but only about 6 people could make it and we sat around eating chicken chili and singing to each other. We rescheduled the get-together for New Year's Day as an ice skating party (now our annual tradition) but it was 58 and sunny that day, not a chip of ice left in our rink.

Thanks for the encouragement, GoofysMuse. It looks like this trip will be all about spontaneity, 'cuz I still have made NO plans. I need to start focusing on the second trip, as I want to make it really special for my cousin, who really needs the break, so I think DH and I will be pretty much winging it. You're right about the benefits of concierge, though - we must drive them nuts changing our minds once we get there, and they never bat an eye or lose those smiles.

Can't believe I'll be back in the magic in just four days! Eileen in Poly IPO contacted us Sunday to offer assistance with last minute plans. I was finally able to e-mail some requests later that day, and Sarah took care of most of them yesterday. Our couples massage/dinner needs some tweaking, but other than that we're good to go. Poly IPO has certainly been amazing this time around.

Finally - the clothes are pressed and ready to pack, travel docs in my purse, and itinerary tweaked and finalized! Now we have just one more "sleep" at home and we'll be back in the magic!
