The New Hub

So wait... it's done?

From a video I saw the other day - one side was done, the other side almost done - i the actual Hub area itself. The area being torn up/worked on at present was the old Rose Garden/dock area. Don't know when that's slated to be done, or if there is any other work planned.

Than

Thanx Jeff. I appreciate being able to voice MY OPINION, and reading others OPINIONS, even when we don't agree. SOmetimes their OPINION makes me think about mine, and sometimes has even caused me to change mine. ANd yes - I thought that's what forums like these were about, stating opinions and points of view, as long as that was done in a rational manner, without personal attacks. I was trying to say that "the issue" to me was much wider and deeper than "just the Hub, or a bit of grass and waterway" but maybe I'm the only one that feels that way, or was not expressing myself in a way anyone else could understand very clearly, even though it has very recently been expressed on the podcast. However - like I said - I felt it got pointless, and I must have been doing a terrible job trying to explain myself, because every conversation went right back to "just the Hub" so I stopped trying. And I always said - nothing that I felt will keep me from returning - I acknowledge and own that.

I will say that being told "calm down" and being called a "soldier" was a bit personal (and wrong, since I am a US Navy vet) and uncalled for. But - that's just my OPINION.
I wasn't telling anyone that their opinion was incorrect, I was referring to you shouting (using capitals) which come across as aggressive and probably too strong for a conversation about "a bit of grass and concrete and water". That's all.

And the saying "calm down/relax soldier" is one used a lot in Australia. Clearly I cannot tell who is and isn't a soldier on an anonymous disney forum.

Thanx for letting me know about the "soldier" custom - I will have to keep that in mind, since it's a "bucket list" of mine to visit your unique and beautify country someday. And it might sound "corny", but I most of all want to see a kangaroo (especially a mom with a joey in her pouch!), and to hold a koala.

Koalas are basically high for the majority of their lives, they eat eucalyptus which makes them euphoric or something, plus it makes them sleep A LOT!
Kangaroos are awesome, but some of them are huge and can be aggressive. Lol. Melbourne zoo has heaps that are gorgeous and you can see them up close!
I'm lucky enough to have spent a lot of time horse riding in the bush (forest) and have seen many in the wild.
Unfortunately, they also like to jump out of paddocks across roads, and it rarely ends well for them and the car.

The saying also has variations: Cowboy, cobber, sailor, partner. We love our slang and random sayings here.
And while we all respect our armed forces vets, we're a nation that is quite relaxed and doesn't take much seriously (I'm currently at work, in tracksuit pants/sweatpants, runners/trainers... Yep, we're a relaxed nation!) so when that saying is used, it's certainly not intended to offend, but more to convey that relaxation is required ;-) I apologise for the mix up

Oh and I've never held a koala (please, they're not koala bears... Lol)
But I hear they have very long and sharp claws for climbing trees. But as I said, they're pretty high a lot of the time so fairly chilled out! Lol

Oh how I agree with you. But I have no solution to the "problem", do you?
Sorry, no. And at the risk of having another "heated debate" here, I'll just cut/paste from my original post regarding the "solution".

I still say I am disappointed that "something else" was not implemented by Disney. ANd again - I don't know what the "something else" could/should/would have been - but I certainly continue to be disappointed that Disney - yet again - is not "stretching the bounds of its Imagineers" (which - again - I am NOT) to come up with that "something else". I used to depend on them to do just that, and they constantly exceeded my expectations
