My husband and I stayed in a Jacuzzi honeymoon room for our honeymoon in October 2001. I don't have the pictures with me, but I'm thinking the main room is about the same as a standard room. It does have a gauranteed King bed, Cameo (I think) theme, a jacuzzi, a balcony, and a view of the Magic Kingdom. As for the shower area, that is about the same as a standard room, only with a "jacuzzi" (or large tub with jets). You're in a private area - you had to go to the private elevator, go up to the third floor to be able to walk around to the main private elevator.

My husband and I really enjoyed the room. However, we have not been in the other honeymoon room.

You can request which type of honeymoon room you want, but are not gauranteed the type. We requested jacuzzi, and got jacuzzi. We liked having a balcony and the jacuzzi. The other room looks beautiful as well though.

Anne2,

Was your room near the grill or marina? Did you have any problems with noise? Sorry to make you repeat information if you already posted a trip report.

And finally, would you do the GF concierge level again if you could?

Bim-muv-fab,

We had no problems with noise! Caspirilla (sp?) Grill was below us, but not a problem for us. Neither was the marina. However, we were there at the end of October, so low numbers might have helped.

As to staying Concierge again....
I really enjoyed staying there. However, it is a little too expensive for us to do except for those once a life time special occasions. I'm sure we'll try to save to stay there sometime on a future trip though.

Great FAQ!

CaliD - I believe I read in here that you've stayed in a marina view room. Did you find it to be noisy? We stayed in a room over the marina at the Poly and did get some boat noise during the day (kids napping).

I'm actually starting to rethink an Epcot resort for our next trip and the lodge tower rooms at the GF sound interesting. These are the ones that would be a bit larger right? It would be nice to stay on the monorail with my kids (they are well supervised by us so I think they'd be ok at the GF).

Thanks a lot!

I have stayed on the fourth floor of Conch Key, marina view. We had no problems at all with noise, and I would definetly request that room location again (actually, I think I could request ANY room location at the GF and be happy, they are all great!).

Lodge tower rooms are a nice size, the sitting area makes them a great options for families. They have an additional television, which is nice if people want to watch different shows. You can get the lodge towers with marina or pool views. :)

Thanks Cali-D, we were on the 3rd fl at Poly so it's good to know you weren't bothered by noise in the marina at the GF.

The lodge tower rooms sound nice for my family. Are they on various floors, do you know? I'd like a balcony so I'm wondering if any of these rooms are on the first floor. I've only been in the main lobby at the GF so I'm just not familiar with the buildings at all.

Have a great day!

They are on floors 2-5 of the 4 lodge buildings (Sago Cay, Conch Key, Boca Chica, and Big Pine Key). Rooms on the 5th floors have two less windows, and no balcony. All the rest do have the five windows and balcony. Make sure you make your preferences known on your reservation. :)

Hey everybody, I have a quick question. I've had a lot of overtime the past few weeks, and am thinking of a splurge to Lagoon view for my August trip. After reading this board for the last few weeks, I can't remember, (and don't have time to look again) I would like a room with a balcony if possible, lagoon view, and hopefully view of MK- could someone please remind me what's the best key to ask for, and what the different lagoon views are - I know this is often asked, like I said, I just want to go ahead and upgrade, make my request, and do it before I think too hard about it!

Conch Key and Sago Cay offer the most views of the castle. Also Baco Chicca and Big Pine. Just call CRO back and tell them you would like a MK view. This worked for us back in May. All I asked for was a non-smoking MK castle view and we were put in Conch Key room #7228. We couldn't have been happier.

I have no experience with the other Lodges, but we have stayed in Boca Chica and would stay there again. Our Lagoon view was very nice and quiet. There is only a small strip of land between the lodge and the lake, so it was pretty quiet, even with the balcony doors open. Very nice.

hi, you mentioned that the lodge tower rooms on the 5th fl. have no balcony and two less windows. does this mean that they are smaller (like the dormer rooms are up there) than the tower rooms on the other floors? thanks in advance.

It's just the way the roof slopes that prevents there being a balcony and the 2 other windows. They are still the same size as the other ones. :)

Anyone know if there is a good way to find out if any special events or conventions planned at the GF (or any other Disney resort for that matter) during a certain time? Does the hotel have any type of calendar they post?

Knowing this ahead of time can certainly help in planning. For example, if there is a yodeling convention scheduled, it may sway me to book my trip the previous week or the week after! (No offense to you yodelers!)

Thanks

Humm, for that I would suggest calling the Grand Floridian Convention Center. I'm sure they could tell you if there would be any conventions during your stay. You can call the front desk, and they'll connect you. Or else visit www.disneymeetings.com

WOW, I actually made it through this whole thread! CalinforniaDreaming - You will definately be hearing from me! LOL :)
One quick question before I recover.... on the first post there is a link to view all the different decors but it won't work for me. Is it still around?

I'm not sure if that thread carried over from the board switchover or not. Most of the pictures probably won't show up anymore anyways (they were linked from photopoint.com, which shut down last year).

hi cali, do you know if any of the consierge rooms in the main building connect? also, do any of the dormer rooms in the lodges connect? thanks in advance

Cali- in a similar vein, do you know where the garden view connecting rooms are in sago or conch? I was going to request connecting rooms here and wondered what the views were like from the connecting rooms (what floor? marine or monorail view?). On thinking about it, vicinity to the monorail is probably my priority as we're only staying one night and have small kids, so anything to minimise walking is probably going to outweigh views etc, but just wondered what we would most likely get with a request like this:

Connecting rooms, sago key or conch key non-smoking.

TIA

In December, we stayed in garden view adjoining rooms in Conch Key. I don't remember the room numbers, but they are on the first floor in the corner, in the"lobby" area of that building. They looked at the marina with a good view of Grand 1. We could even see the Magic Kingdom fireworks if we really streched our necks (we usually just stepped out of the back entrance to the building to get a fine view).

As far as walking distance. It's a decent walk to the main building and monorail. I always enjoyed the walk, however, as the view is always nice. I have small children and it was never a problem.
