hi cali or anyone who might know, how late are the shops in the gf open and how late does the orchestra on the second floor play?

I'm not 100% sure. But I'm 99% confident the shops are open until at least 10:00. I'm thinking they were open until 11:00 though - at least the sundries shop and the "main" shop on the 2nd floor.

I can answer your question about connecting concierge rooms in the main building. I know at least that 4408 is a connecting room. (I think with 4409) We stayed there in May. (and we heard a rather private conversation through the door)
Hope that helps a little.

Hey Cali-D! :D

Just wondering... do any of the lagoon view rooms offer a King and a daybed or a King and a couch??? What about the RPC??

Thanks! ;)

Hi Erika,

you'll have to wait for Cali on the lagoon view rooms, w/king beds, I never had one in Conch, only 2 queens.
But, all the honeymoon suites on the clarendon level (2nd floor) of RPC have MK view and King beds w/a couch. We stayed in one last January for Jerrys b-day, it was a great view of MK, and a beautiful big room w/a 4 poster bed :)

laura :D :p :D :p

For those of you waiting for answers from CaliD, I believe he is at Disney right now.

Shops are open till 11PM.

King beds with a sofa (not sleeper) can be had in a lagoon view room. Make sure to request it, there aren't too many.

Almost all rooms are connecting rooms, including concierge rooms. Never seen a connecting dormer room, but that doesn't mean that there aren't some.

Family of 6, interesting about the conversation. Hopefully it wasn't too "private". ;)

we just stayed in the sugar loaf concierge (before our cruise)...
boy were we pleasantly surprised by the level of service (after all the negative things we'd read on these boards about the GF concierge)....
it was our first stay at the GF, but certainly not our last.....
everyone in the family now likes it the best of all the disney resorts (we've stayed at them all except for coronado springs)....

we were especially surprised by the cast member who met us at the car valet to take us over to the concierge for check-in....what a great start to a great stay!!!

CALID:sorry to imagine what others have said..i was there when you where and didnt have 1 problem...we were at bocha chica and the pool was very busy at 12:00-1 ish...just like you said...but i understand what your saying..i think things have gone down-hill at all wdw resorts esp the deluxe 1's..there is a problem that they (wdw) needs to look at..as allways thanks for posting and thanks for the GF FAQ!...we all use it...

Is it possible to buy a gallon of milk at the GF? My DS is an extremely difficult eater and I am mailing down a package for him. Luckily he will drink milk so I wasn't sure if I could get it there or at one of the other resorts.

Thanks for the info. I know we can go to FW or I think even WL for it so I'm not too worried. Since we plan on eating at both resorts it's not out of the way.

OK, I have a question about checking in on January 1st. I was going to get a lagoon view room and request a MK view. In your opinions, or based on your experiences, are my chances of getting an MK view any less by checking in on January 1? I would imagine the resort is already pretty full on that day and do you think that all the MK view rooms are already occupied? I just don't really know what to expect for that day of the year. If it would be a long shot to get a good view, I would just rather go with garden view.

Thanks in advance!!!

I checked in on January 1 this year, and had no problem getting a MK view. :) Over half the hotel checked out that day, and they were running at about 75% occupancy.

I wouldn't worry about it! ;)

We will be checking in on the 3rd for 3 nights. Maybe we will bump into you then. The GF is really a great place to stay. I'm afraid that I have spoiled myself. I just hope it won't be to cold to swim some. DD loves the new pool at the GF.

I know that they usually don't get released for a couple of months but were there any last Jan. from the 1st-7th? I know that that is value time.
