hi everyone! we're home less than a week , back to the real world but I wanted to share a few of our Grand pics from the trip...which was wonderful, as always!!! we also took advantage of the special offer and are headed back next September - I also wanted to send a huge hello to Joe and Vonnie - WE MISS YOU, YOU ARE THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and also a big hello to Channing - Vonnie sends hugs!

Great pics...thanks! Just under a month...I'll actually be leaving Disney this time next month My final paperwork came in and then I made an addition to our reservation (my sister is going with us) so I'm still waiting patiently for the new final paperwork to arrive...then it will just be a countdown

Met Vonnie and Joe tonight. Marci and Channing' they sent you both their love. V got your email C right before I introduced myself. We are loving RPC. What a difference it makes. Tonight we listened to the orchestra and choirs. DH says he is hooked and only wants to stay here now. Good thing I am working! The view is wonderful, grounds are gorgeous. Today it was over 80. Oh, and Mejay has been an angel getting some ticket stuff straight for us. I am just so happy we are here finally!!!

I KNEW you'd be hooked!! That's the only trouble with it....nothing else compares.

Isn't the RPC staff TERRIFIC?? I love THEM. They are the ones that keep us coming back time and again.

I'm so glad you guys are having a great time. It's such a different experience from anywhere else I've stayed at WDW. And I'm especially glad John agrees. Enjoy the rest of your trip!

We are signing my daughters up for the Alice/mad hatter tea party at the GF. It is kids only so is there someplace their mom and I can go to grab a glass of wine and a small bite and relax for an hour? Does Mizners have any lite fare?

Hi all. Just finished reading the thread and wanted to introduce myself.

My DH, DS (4) and I will be staying at the GF 2/27 - 3/7.

It's kind of funny how this all came about. This past October I went to WDW with DS for his 4th birthday. DH couldn't take time away from his business. He missed out on seeing DS on the "big boy rides" and said he wanted to go for his (DH's) birthday in Feb. Hey - you don't have to tell me twice to book another Disney trip!! He said to book a moderate so I thought it would be fun to check out the new pirate themed rooms at CBR. DH was fine with that... until I showed him one of the artist renditions. He said they were ugly (really - from a guy! LOL) and that we needed to look at a different resort. So, I started pricing various ones and gave him the information. We finally agreed on the Beach Club. I know it will most likely be too cool to swim when we are there, but it is possible to have nice weather as well ... and SAB is closed then! One of the main reasons I wanted to stay at BC. Yesterday I said something to DH about that and he said, "Well, how much is GF?" Hopped back on the TA site and got the quote for him and he said to change from BC to GF!

So, here we are. Excited to stay at GF. It will be DH and DS's first time there. I stayed there about 15 years ago and don't remember a whole lot about it. I do remember that I had a cheap plastic head band that broke in two. In the rush to get out the door in the morning I hadn't thrown it in the trash. That night when we returned to the room, it was on the counter set together. I chuckled and lifted it up to throw it away. They had used super glue to try and repair it for me! Granted it didn't hold, but I can't believe they did that! What service!

QUESTION: Does anyone know if you can get king size pillows at GF? I hate packing mine, but I can't sleep well without one. Doesn't matter how awesome the standard pillow may be, it's the length issue. We will have a car and could stop and buy one, but don't want to waste the time.

Yep, mine said the same thing (as well as my four year old!)! It's only the GF for us from now on!

I know what you mean about the number for the CL desk. Why don't they automatically give it to you at check in??? I kept calling the IPO by accident! At the BWI, we didn't even have it on our room phone! I had to call the front desk to get the number for the CL desk right outside my room!


Indyclown: I'm pretty sure the lounge doesn't open until 5pm. How about a fruity drink out by the pool bar (there are two)? They do sell wine in the counter service restaurant (Gasparilla's) in small bottle and you can get a nice lunch there and eat it outside by the marina. I love that spot.

Travelingal: Sorry, I have no idea about pillows. I've never requested any. Someone will have an answer for you.

Hi, maybe you could book a lunch at the GF Cafe? Or as Goofy Gal suggests...pick something up from Gaspies and sit near the marina or the pool bar - all are nice options.

Mizners opens later in the day - not sure exactly what time, but they won't be open as early as the tea party takes place.

Hi, Travelin Gal....you will LOVE the Grand. I can't answer your question though. Somebody who has had a king bed will know.. I always had my girls with and queen beds...so not sure if the GF even HAS king pillows on their king beds....

I just forgot I did have a king bed once at the Grand. No! I didn't forget I stayed in that suite.

WOw...I checked my pics...I don't think there were king pillows on that bed.... It's hard to tell...but I think they were standard....all across - but piles of them.

Heatherlynn always has king beds....she will know about the pillow situation.
