Hey, Lives...yeah, I thought the same thing with the Mexican theme, but I thought he meant potato chips and dip. I wonder what Kelly Rippa thought...."oh, no...not the same old same old".:lmao:

Magical

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: I wonder if she likes the gray meat on a stick?:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

They need more variety. Or...something....:rolleyes1

Can someone provide any information on the Cabana's? How far in advance can you reserve one? How much to they rent for? Any and all information please.:thumbsup2

I was wondering does the Grand Floridian sell any Resort logo luggage tags, because if they do this Saturday when my family and I visit there we would purchase them.

Lovely photos! Wish we were there!

I thought I'd mention, for anyone going to WDW and the GF in January - I received a letter yesterday stating that the beach pool will be closed for refurbishment starting January 5, 2009. The letter says the work should be completed by late January, 2009 - but, as well all know, that is just a projection.

The courtyard pool will be open, and GF guests may use the volcano pool at the Poly while the work is being done.

Hope this helps anyone planning a trip next month.

Thanks for the info! We'll be there the 10-17th. I don't foresee us swimming though...Im betting its not going to be warm enough even with heated pools :rotfl: I had read on the old faq thread that there was plenty of refurbs/maintenance being planned for the beginning of this year. Hopefully it won't be an issue and we'll still have a fabulous time staying at the Grand

mom2princessj - I agree, we never swim in the winter months, so this doesn't really affect us! But my DD's friend, who is accompanying us, is insisting she will want to swim, no matter what the weather. So, I thought the pool info might matter to other hardy souls! ;)

You can reserve one 90 days in advance. There is a list of amenities, costs, and pictures and I posted updated pics on the first few pages of this thread. The newer updated look are the ones with the burgundy cushions.

They are nice.:)

Have they changed anything significant from last year (besides the burgundy cushions :))? Remember there was a long list of things they were planning on adding to them?? Just curious.....

I'm going to rent one regardless. We really enjoyed our cabana day! :yay:

Mare, I posted some cabana pics I took in October....They changed the furniture.....:rotfl: They added sofa/love seat type furniture...the table is smaller I think? Not positive. You will see from the pics. They have cabana attendants now. THey take care of you.....hmmm.....THey switched the pre arranged rentals to 1 & 2 - now farthest from the store. 3 & 4 are now the walk up rentals.... They have a fluffy drink menu sitting on the table:cutie: .....racking my brain here......:rotfl:

I think Kelly posted the link to the updated pics on the front of this thread....if not I can find them for ya...they are a few pages back. It's nice that they have the cabana CMs now. THey bring you drinks and towels and ours were so nice and played with the kids & just made sure everybody was happy.:)

Channing:)

Thanks Chan.:flower3:

Remember some rumor of Wii games for each cabana?? Fancy upgrades, I can't remember right now what the improved rumors were?? Wishes Queen would know, she's also the cabana queen!:rotfl:

I don't remember fancy drinks last June. We did have Amanda the Cabana gal take care of us. She was fantastic! She played with my boys all day! She even offered us a play mat for the floor for DS1! I thought that was so thoughtful! My only small complaint was the DVDs available. She gave us a list and when we finally decided on one, they were locked in the Mouseketter Club and no one had the key!:rotfl: Thankfully, I brought one of our own to watch!

So now the cabana attendent brings you fruity drinks? I like that :thumbsup2

I might do like Wishes Queen and get the cabana a few mornings. My boys are dying to go back to the GF pool! They loved it!

Mare, they did have Wiis when we were there, but they only set them up during certain times and not in the cabanas. They were near the hair wrapping.

I don't remember what all was supposed to change.. *sorry*. Annette would probably know.:)

Happy planning!! I love the cabanas in the morning. The pool is empty and quiet.:goodvibes

Channing :)

Yeah, the Wiis were in that same spot last June.

So they just updated the furniture and have fruity drink service. That works for me:thumbsup2

I was just looking for those a few days ago...but the only ones I could find were Lily Pulitzer at Summer Lace...

I love all the pics...even though I'm here I'm roombound because of the nasty virus that is going around...I'm the last in our group to be affected...my entire family is at MVMCP right now ...I'm just glad they are all recovered and able to enjoy the party.

Oh, sorry to hear that.:sad2: It is just so hard to be sick while on vacation.

Does housekeeping know? Our middle child was ill a few years ago while at WDW and I think they did a special cleaning when we left.

I hope you have some time to enjoy the GF and WDW after you've recovered.:wizard:

Thanks for the kind words BCV23...I've had a wonderful time up until 2:30 this morning...much better now though...

And yes, housekeeping knows...we have 3 rooms in our party and they have taken very good care of us...one nice lady even came back after her shift was over to make a special towel animal for my niece.

I'm glad you're so much better already. Hopefully by the morning it will be a dim memory.:wizard: Sorry you missed the party though. Have you seen the castle in its nighttime finery?

How sweet of that lady!:goodvibes

I have seen it! It is just lovely...in fact, I can see it from my balcony...so if I have to be roombound at least I have a great view :goodvibes

Oh, I'm so sorry that you're sick!! It seems like there's a lot of that going around at WDW right now. Hope you're feeling much better soon so you can enjoy the rest of your trip. :goodvibes

Channing, we don't leave until Sat. Right now I am at work and feeling cruddy. Davis and I both have colds. Is the stomach flu bad at Disney right now? That would be horrible. I hope that the PP is feeling better. I am going to bring a big bottle of Lysol, Clorox wipes, and hand sanitizer
