SL question....

Do you get turndown service every night in SL? Is this a MAYBE you might get it or a for sure 100% you will have it kind of thing?

Is it considered proper manners to grab a coke or drink on your way out to the parks and take it with you? Or do they frown on this? We are not talking about me bringing a cooler in my backpack and loading up :rotfl: but I was thinking we could grab a drink on our way out :confused3

Same thing about taking stuff to your room? If Savannah grabbed a dessert on our way to our room, is it considered good form for her to take it to the room with us? I am not talking about bringing a tray from the grill and loading the tray up here :rotfl: but again I wasn't sure on the proper manners about this?

What do you gals do and has anyone ended up in Disney jail for taking a coke to their room? :lmao:
During my families stay on the Atrium Club Level at the Contemporary and last December at the Polynesian in the Hawaii Longhouse Club Level building, we would take drinks back to our room as did other guests and the Cast Members did not care. Now on the Atrium Club Level when they were low on some drinks the Cast Members would just put more out, where as the Polynesian lounge had a fridge stocked full Coke, Diet Coke and Sprite. So it only got re-stocked when they were running low.

As for the deserts we would only take them back the odd time to our room while staying at the Contemporary, since the lounge and rooms were on the same floor. Again the Cast Members did not care and when we were finished we would take the plates back to the lounge. At the Polynesian if we did not take any desserts back because the lounge was on the 2nd floor and our room was on the 3rd floor, so it was easier to eat them in the lounge. However during the afternoons when we would walk back to our room, we would take some snacks during the day on paper plates and eat them in our room. By doing that once we were done we could throw out the plates since they would no longer be good, so no reason to bring them back to the lounge.

They do turndown every nights.

I take few and throw the cokes in my fridge so when I get back at night and the lodge is closed I have some cold drinks.

I also grab one when I go out and throw one in my bag.

Sometimes when the lounge is packed I take the breakfast up the room. No one has every said anything to me.

and this from the H2O thief :lmao: :lmao:

If I get arrested, you going to come down and bail me out of Disney Jail?:rotfl2:

Its just I don't eat dessert but Savannah is big on dessertprincess:
I thought if we grabbed it on the way to the room, I could bathe while she was chowing down ... to keep her busy while I am using my GOOD H2O bath stuff :p

Thanks for the replies guys, but I think we wont be able to afford it. Just checked the prices from the US site and the cost of a suite is more than double to price we're paying for the three weeks standard room from the Uk deal we got!

I'm sure the room will be great anyway!!

Kev Kendall ...we'll be staying at the GF the first week of August!!!! YEA!!!!:beach: :beach: :beach:

Channing, did you look at their ratings? When getting custom made stuff I always check the ratings. I know its not 100% accurate but you will get an idea.
I have bought loads of custom made stuff on ebay ...not usually disney stuff... and have never had trouble. I will say that 3-4 weeks is the average for a custom made outfit. That is why I was doing my orders NOW and not waiting until 3 weeks before we leave :rotfl: :sad2:

Good luck and I can't wait to see as that pirate outfit was adorable!

Praline, ya I have been Ebaying for years. I am always careful about that feedback. The thing is.....oK this Minnie pirate lady has my info but now what? Do I just sit back and wait for a package (MAYBE) to show up at my doorstep or can I check in, haha, and find out how it's moving along?? Most of the other ladies didn't have any problem at all or even flinch at the March 18 deadline, so I didn't think there would be any 3 or 4 week lead time!!! :sad2: bummer. She didn't even give me that info until I paid her the stinking $85.:guilty: I am gonna be miffed if Jojo has to go to WDW without her Minnie pirate outfit. :sad2:

Hey, we often come back and make the lounge the first stop off the elevators....well second;) - after we say HI:wave2: to our great concierge CMs. :goodvibes We take some snacks back to the room often - especially in the evenings late when we get back from the parks. I wouldn't know about it being frowned upon. :scratchin But, then again, from reading the DIS, it seems there is just so much that people frown upon.....whatever! Go, eat, have fun & enjoy!!!! Don't let some pissy frowner bring ya down about your Diet Coke and cupcakes.

OMG...:hyper: :hyper: this little guy cracks me up.....

Channing :)

No matter if we have the snacks and drinks in the lounges or our rooms does it really matter? There are no signs in any Club Level lounge that says all food and drinks must be had here and can not be taken back to the guest rooms. The only signs I have seen says no alcohol maybe consumed by anyone under the age of 21. Since the Club Level floors or buildings require your KTTW card for access you know the only guests taking food are the Club Level guests staying there, so you won't have guests who are not staying there getting free food. Finally no matter where you end up eating the food and having the drinks the Cast Members will always replace whatever they need to until 10:00 PM when it's time for them to go for the night. So if there is something you want to eat and it's not out there, it won't be long until it's replaced.

You hit the nail on the head with that one!

I did read this somewhere on the DIS that it wasn't polite to grab food and head to your room with it :confused3

I have stayed other places concierge, but not at Disney. This is normal practice in other locations but with what I read.. it made me a tad bit nervous about attempting it. I don't need some gorilla sized bouncer thumping Savannah and I out on the street because we grabbed a coke on the way to our room :rotfl2:

Very OT...but I am on a shoe quest:offtopic: :confused3 ....I like flip flops because they're comfy and cute. ;) I have worn Teva Mush and other Teva flip flop styles Olawahu etc all day in the parks and been very happy.....but now I was looking at the Havaianas....anybody wear these to the parks all day? They have some fun colors.:thumbsup2
Lives4Disney :)

Lives4Disney, I love Merrill sandals and flip flops BUT my new favs are from Reef ~ it is like walking on a marshmallow all day ::yes:: I loved this brand so much I went on line and bought my husband a pair (not the same crystally ones :) ) and he is sooooo picky but loved them!

She wanted people's view of the "proper manners on this" so that's why I wrote what I wrote. :upsidedow Not sure why you quoted me. Seems we agree. I just pointed out that to read what is considered proper or not on the DIS will make a person's head spin & make one very paranoid. Everybody has an opinion and many are out there watching and just waiting to judge. Seems stupid, but from reading the DIS that;s what goes on. Yes, there are no signs regarding this issue, but she didn't want to look like a concierge noob or get nasty looks from others.:snooty:

Praline, in my experience, the GF guests are the nicest!:goodvibes (well except that last stay, haha....it was a "different" crowd)

Hi,
We are taking my whole family (kids, parents, and sisters family) March 2 - March 5 to the GF. I called today to confirm everything for our reservations. We requested a crib, connecting rooms and a b-day cake to be delivered. Everything was completely messed up! They had no notes on the crib, connecting rooms or cake.

We were there 6 months ago at the PRC and ran into a few problems with our room, and some requests.

I have called twice to speak to a manager and both times I was asked what I needed help with they transfered me back to the main number. I really want to speak to one of the managers. Does anyone know where I can find out who the managers are and how to reach them directly?

TIA!

I just ordered some from Zappos last year and I do like them but they seem widish at the toe and it makes me extra clumsy....I don't need any help there, haha. I ordered a couple pairs last week in the crystal, too!! They hurt between the toes....that was a bummer. DD7 has the pink crystal ones and the furry cheetah print ones for the trip. :goodvibes Thanks for the tip, though!! I may try and order a different style, but I did like the look of the crystals!!

I dont buy shoes.... I buy bags
bags like coach and others that I dont need since I never go anywhere and I am always home and working

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: I used to do that, too!!! I sold a bunch on Ebay because I finally decided they weren't going to get used. I have two Coach bags left that are both large tote/carry on style for vacations. THOSE get used.;)

Now I am so into shoes. Again, shoes that don't get worn because I don't go anywhere that requires me to wear nice shoes. Just flip flops.:rotfl:

I was just speaking from personal experience and trying to say it's not wrong, no matter how others might try to think it's wrong. As long as we agree I think we can leave it at that.

Praline, if it's important to you, I'd call! The first night (in SL), there was no turndown. And, as I reported when we returned, there was no proper CL welcome (like what I'd come to expect from reading here).
Re: the snacks and drinks...we too brought things back to the room without a problem. Seemed like they didn't care.
