Mini... Ohh.. Thank you... I have ben so interested in finding out about the non-wallpaper rooms... Now I know! We were in conch 7101 in September with the beige walls... to me it was blah... but I like wallpaper/florals etc. Thanks again for solving this mystery for me. Glad you had a great trip!

Marcij... I was one of the ones that inquired about bringing a gingerbread house back home. Thanks for the inof and any tips on "HOW TO"? Should I bring some bubble wrap?

Lives4... Thanks for the info about the lights.. it helps with trying to decide what to do!

Cool info about H20.

AlicnWonder... Hope you enjoy the cooking and time with family. Love the clip art you posted. And an extra Thank yoy for all your efforts on this thread, it is truly appreciated!!

Well...Better do some work. Happy early Turkey Day to everyone!

Best,

NYmichelle- i brought some louisiana gumbo mixes and gave them out! simple and its the thought that counts!

Praline - I don't post here too often but try to keep up with my reading. I saw where you had said you wanted to make 100% sure jeans were OK at Narcoossee's - I promise you they are. My DH and I wore jeans to dinner in late September, and we didn't feel out of place at all. There were several tables where diners wore jeans or nice shorts, and some tables with summer skirts. It was laid-back and I got a beachy feeling from the inside of the restaurant. It's beautiful inside and it was nice to feel so comfortable.

Boy -- you guys start a new thread and literally run with it! Things have been so busy at work that I haven't had time to find the new thread or skim the more than 40 pages until last night.

Good work on the thread!

I can't remember who it was that was asking about transporting the gingerbread houses, but it can be done. We brought one home that some good friends sent us (thanks Denise aka triplefigs! :) ) and it made it home great. We finally took it apart a week after Christmas. It was great to have it to help re-live our trip after we left the Grand last year.

Channing -- I'm so glad y'all are having a great time! Please say hello to my RPC fav CMs for me! ;) I can't wait to get there after Christmas.

Have a fun and safe Thanksgiving everyone! :)

I was one of the people asking about transporting the Gingerbread houses! So thanks for the info! We live in S.C. and usually drive. Decided to fly this time and of course I didn't think about bringing a gingerbread house on the plane!
We used to be Texans! We lived in San Antonio and Dallas (Irving):)

Hi! Just returned from GF Nov. 10th-17th. What a perfect week to go! The weather was perfect and the crowds were at minimum!!! We were in Conch Key 7201 and I was very sad to get a 'beige' room:sad1: . I wanted to switch but DH thought that was rediculous. I asked the manager and was informed that all corner rooms do not have wallpaper. This is due to the exterior walls getting so hot it causes the paper to buckel. I miss the old floral!

Hmm... My dad and I had a corner MK view room in Big Pine Key during our October trip and it had wallpaper. I checked ;) . :confused3

Wow! Thanks for posting this about the no wallpaper rooms! :)

DD and I are putting up our Christmas tree today since we are only going to Shoney's (!?) for Turkey Day tomorrow. My husband is deployed to Iraq and we don't live near any family so we're making the best of it :charac2:(que pitiful violin music ;))
(Feel free to send Orlando Bloom over to comfort me :thumbsup2)
Happy Thanksgiving GF'ers! :goodvibes

The box the Gingerbread house came in was the perfect size for the house -- the base of the house fit in to it and didn't move at all, so unless there is a piece on the house that is loose, it should be fairly easy to carry home.

I've tried to remember how I put it on the plane, but I can't remember. Major pieces of that trip are such a blur. We promised my Dad we would go ahead and take our trip before last Christmas, even though we buried my Mom the day before we left. To say I was in shock is an understatement, but some wonderful friends on a special thread on the DIS board surprised me with all kinds of treats on the trip to lift my spirits and show that they cared, and I was determined to get that house home.

princessrule4 -- were you born in Texas or moving around? Have you seen that bumper sticker... I wasn't born a Texan but I got here as quick as I could... I wonder if all states have something similiar, or if it's just Texans that are so sure we have the best state? ;)

I'm so sorry about your mom! I bet she was right there with you all and loving the smiles that WDW brought to your faces!

We are South Carolinians - We actually moved to Texas right after college - Dallas - my job, and San Antonio - DH's job. We loved the tex mex, and the lovely people and all the fun things to do! We also lived in West Texas for a while!
I love that bumper sticker but hadn't heard of it before( showing my age but it's been 15 years since we lived there) Our bumper sticker here in S.C. is "Beautiful Places, Smiling Faces"- sounds like bragging to me ;)

Have a GRAND Thanksgiving, everyone!

And, Marci, I'm so glad that we were able to help you last Christmas with your mom. Love you!

Ok, since everybody is early with their Happy Thanksgiving wishes, I'll do likewise! Don't have to cook tomorrow for the first time in a lot of years, but I know what most of the rest of you are going thru. I love making the big meal, but this year, we're eating out.
Hope you all enjoy your day!!

This deal about no cream for the scones is a real upset for me. I know it's strange, but that was my favorite thing about the concierge there. Maybe they'll reinstate it if they find out there are people like me? Hope so!

FYI, for those bringing home the Gingerbread houses. We have a Gingerbread house from 2005 in our freezer, and it is still just like brand new. We had it displayed the entire Christmas season. When we undecorate, I wrap it in that new sticky freezer paper by Glad. I put it in the back of our deep freezer. This will be the 3rd Christmas I use it, and it looks great!

sorry sweetie hes already at my house!;)

Diselderm....ya, today still no cream for the scones. They aren't sure why.

About the morning fruit....there are tons of little fruit flies or something like that and they do keep certain items in back request only. So just ask.

Bad day....Jojo lost her pin trading case FULL of cast member pins and more - special ones given to her that cannot be replaced. :guilty: Lost this morning at Epcot and nobody has turned it in. :sad2: At this point with the way people act I am not surprised. :sad1: I am just so mad and disappointed...;;its' our fault too, though...she has lost every single souvenier we bought for her. :sad2: (luckily mostly cheapies until today) I will be overly thrilled if somebody DOES do the right thing and it winds up turned in.....Probably close to $300 in pins.:guilty:

Beautiful weather....gorgeous GF esp with all the Xmas decorations, but we are tired - I think i have a sinus infection and it's crowded.

Channing :)

Oh, Channing. Poor JoJo. Did you see the thread on the TPAS board about the same thing happening to a little boy? Everyone has been mailing him pins to replace the lost ones. maybe you should post too?

Happy Thanksgiving!
