Tete, I love your pictures.....not necesarrily the room decor with the bland plain walls:sad2: , but I love your pics! THANKS!!:thumbsup2

When I was going thru mine, I saw some OLD SL pics and wow what a difference.

These are the H2O products. There is a Foot Rub (to die for), Mineral Body wash, Shampoo, Conditioner, and a Body Butter. A white facial soap (not shown), a nubby soap for the body and a glycerin soap, as well.

I like the bedspread but HATE the white walls. They take away from the room. I also hate that pink couch and blue chair next to each other. I was comparing the new tower room to the old tower room and I like the old one better. :(

yeah Tete is here! Thanks for posting those pics people will love them.

Do you believe that it took me most of the day to make a ONE DVD from our vacation. You cant do anything while it is transfering it and it has been driving me crazy not to be on here!!

Awesome job with the new site!!! :thumbsup2

I love the H20 especially that shampoo and conditioner

Ya, I love all those new products....I have a stash left over & when I need my GF fix I use them, haha. Maybe this day - after seeing all these fabulous pictures -will call for that!:rotfl:

Thanks Tete! Love the pics.

Doesn't look like they did anything new to the bathrooms other than the carpet and I heard they put in the curved shower curtain.

Channing :)

ooooooh, loving the H2O products ... do the GV rooms also get all of the above or just Shampoo, Body wash & Soap ?? :cheer2:

Just wanted to say hi and to let you guys know you've done a great job starting the new thread. I've been lurking on the old one and have to say its nice to have an updated one to reference. Thanks for all the hard work.

Love the new thread! I am at the one month mark :woohoo: and had a couple questions...are the refillable mugs now specifically GF or generic to all the resorts? Do they typically give anything "free" to those celebrating a birthday (i.e. chocolates, balloons, etc.)? Just curious. Thanks!!

Ladies - great start to the new thread! I don't have much in the way of pics to contribute since they're mainly of the older rooms, but I will have new pics to add after our trip in 18 DAYS!!!!! :woohoo:

SLDL - I believe the refillable mugs are now the generic ones that all the WDW resorts seem to have gone to. (They're themed to the Year of a Million Dreams promotion.) When the minibars were still in the rooms, you could find the old Alice or Capt. Hook mugs there, but the minibars are no longer (except in Sago, I guess, where the rehab hasn't begun).

My mom and I celebrated our b-days at the GF in August 2005. While you should not expect the resort to do anything unless you pay for it, we found they bent over backwards to make us feel special. We got a decent-sized cake and card from Mickey on my actual b-day night, and then a balloon bouquet and more cards from Mickey later in our stay.

Here are some pics:

I have a pic request from my boys. They wanted to know if anyone had picks of the inside of Gasperilla's. I think they are wanting to see what the arcade looks like ;)

Also, with making special order cakes.. I am guessing they can be delivered to your room. Can you call before your trip and make the reservation to have it delivered to your room? How do they know what room your in?

I was thinking of doing a cute Welcome to Disney cake to get the kids in the magical mood when we arrive. I just wasn't sure if they could do this? We are eating dinner that night over at the Whispering Canyon (again another tradition for my kids on the first night being there as they find that place hysterical). I thought having a special dessert delivered to the room while we are at the Whispering. Is this possible on our first night?

Tinkeroo, I see you're going to be there at the same time a few of us Disers are...we should all wear identifying hats, badges, or something!! I'm counting down from 19 days!! Our first stay at the Grand!!!:cool1:

Sure do wish I could open the pictures from the work computer. It just won't let me.:goodvibes

One other cake question. DH's birthday is Feb 11. We will be there 1-9 so I was thinking of having a cake made for him on one of our last days.

Do you they do tow mater cakes? :lmao:
Being a "man" that has to be his favorite star of Disney!

I figured they did the typical spray paint type cake as I have seen them do for other characters but I was thinking of something extra special and not your typical flat birthday cake.

Do they handle special request such as these?
Also anyone have any cute ideas to ask them for? hehe
As this is for an adult (hubby) who has a wonderful sense of humor ... funny/ redneck tow mater type ideas are what I am looking for.

Love the new updated thread and all the beautiful pics!

Quick question: do the in-room fridges have a freezer section? MIL wants to bring her freezable knee thingy to "ice" her knee if it hurts, so I said I'd ask the experts! We've never had or requested a fridge while at the GF, so I need help with this one!

Thanks!

This is the only bad thing I can say about these boards.:confused3 I have seen sooooo many people on the GF thread get special things for thier anniversary and it sure got my hopes up! It was myself and DHs anniversary and my daughters birthday and all we got was the balloons and cards I had arranged with IPO. I would like to say I wasnt dissapointed but I was...I was really looking forward to coming back to the room to find that champagne! A friend of mine did send us a chocolate box similar to Channings but that was done through PD. One day I even saw some champagne and gift baskets going by on a cart and I thought for sure they were coming but when we returned there was nothing:guilty: Have a great trip and I hope pixie dust comes your way! :wizard:

If you really want something done a certain way its best to pay for it. Sometimes its so random whether or not things are done.
