 pas130! No RPC booking yet, but hopefully someone will answer my room location question soon so I can book:hyper:

I am resolved to (finally) book a RPC STD room today, but first I have a room request question. It seems that the STD RPC rooms have either lagoon or pool views? We would like a lagoon view (two queens/without a connecting door). Are the STD RPC lagoon views all of the Poly/CR area? Would my request simply be "lagoon view?" Are there RPC dormer (turret?) rooms? Are the marina area views all TPV rooms? Phew - thanks!

Hey ladies!

RPC STD rooms are going to be on the 3rd/4th floors and either going to be courtyard (facing the courtyard pool) OR lagoon (facing the theme pool with the construction!).

Same for the 5th floor, only the rooms are less as there are more suites and these rooms are "dormers" with smaller, closed in balconies.

There are no lagoon RPC rooms that face the CR, just the Poly and the GF DVC construction.

My, I DO love the GF RPC! The ultimate CL on WDW property! :cloud9:
Made my ADRs this morning! we're all set!:thumbsup2

KOOK....try to book the DELUXE QUEEN in the main building! It is the most awesome room without having to get a suite! ::yes::

Thank you so much for clarifying everything for me! I didn't see your post here yet and I just posted the questions you just answered to the Resort Changer's thread:upsidedow

So it seems that DELUXE QUEEN - MAIN is a bookable category? I didn't recall seeing it for our dates so I'll have to see if I can find it. It is TWO queens, right? We've got 13-year-old DD along for our 25th:crowded:

Yes, and call WDW directly to book this as it can NOT be done online.
I hear you about DS, we're taking our DS to celebrate his 21st bday! :thumbsup2 So we need a BIG room.

Look on the first page of this thread, the pics are there.

Also, it faces the courtyard pool.
There are 6 of these rooms the best ones are located above the back entrace going to the courtyard pool, you look up and on the 3/4 floor, you'll see their balconies!
Those are the WIDE deluxe rooms with the LARGE oval tubs! THEY are HUGE rooms and the BEST DELUXE rooms on property. The 4th floor rooms are right by the lounge, while the 3rd floor rooms are right by the CL CMs.

Request "Courtyard view/4th floor"

And keep on telling them, MAIN BUILDING, DELUXE QUEEN CLUB LEVEL, because they will try to book a regular deluxe outer building everytime!

HTH! :goodvibes

I keep trying to call the WDTC to get pricing info. (with our military discount) for the MAIN BUILDING, DELUXE QUEEN CLUB LEVEL and I keep getting a busy signal - of course:upsidedow

I finally got through and wasn't even put on hold:thumbsup2. It was definitely worth the wait because...

I was able to book the DELUXE QUEEN ROOM MAIN BUILDING RPC with the military 40% off!

Bet you'll never guess what I requested? COURTYARD VIEW/4TH FLOOR!

Thank you so much Lulu'sMom:hug:. I never knew there were Deluxe Rooms in the main bldg. and wouldn't have had any idea what view to request. We had wanted to book a Deluxe Room once before, but I thought none had CL access, which we wanted. You've made our anniversary so special by telling me about this room:goodvibes. I can't believe I was able to use our discount as the WL Deluxe rooms are never offered with the discount.

I read that the Deluxe OUTER rooms are about 575 SF, does anyone know if the RPC Deluxe rooms are the same size and look identical to the OUTER rooms? Are there 6 Deluxe rooms just in the Main Bldg? I wonder how most people would ever know they are available for booking in the RPC?

THANK YOU, THANK YOU Lulu'sMom for telling me about them and the best location to request:goodvibes

WDW KOOK - so glad you were able to snag the deluxe queen room, it is a wonderful room! Very tough to get, I'm happy for you.:goodvibes

The main building queen deluxe rooms look nothing like the outer bldg. deluxe, and they are larger. As Lulu's Mom posted, you can see photos on the first page of this thread - post #6, mid-way down the post. There are two layouts, this is the one over the courtyard.

I have the layout diagrams, but not sure I've got them on my Photobucket account, or my laptop! I'll see if I can get them copied.

garada3 - that hallway past the fifth floor seating area leads to more suites, and the pool elevator. I think it ends at the elevator, in front of the big suite! (Grand Suite, I think:cloud9:) I'm not sure if there are any std. rooms in that corridor, it doesn't look like it as you walk down the hall.

There is a nice set of leather chairs on the 5th floor, in the small hall overlooking the lobby and courtyard. We love to sit in that area.

I found my copies of the queen deluxe layout, but they are in a different format on my laptop!:badpc: Argh! I can't get them to paste into my post, nor upload to my Photobucket account.

If anyone out there has these diagrams, please jump in! I will keep trying to get them to cooperate.

Thank you for re-directing me to the photos taken by Lulu'sMom. I had forgotten that they were RPC photos:thumbsup2

Are these the layouts you have? I found them here on the DIS posted by TammiMcMan:

Am I correct in assuming that none of the RPC/Deluxe Rooms have connecting doors? Also, does the 4th floor Courtyard View DR have any lagoon view at all or is it only a view of the outer bldgs. and pool and Wishes at night? I would love to see a photo of the views, if anyone has any.

ETA: Per Lulu'sMom, I requested the 4th floor Courtyard View. We LOVE the Bay Lake View at the CR and WL so I am wondering if a Lagoon View request might be better? Seeing Wishes is not a priority for us as we prefer quiet, water view locations. Does anyone know of a GF room number/type layout map? I'm off to look for one...

Yes! Those are the layouts I meant, thanks!:thumbsup2

The queen deluxe rooms on the 3rd and 4th floors overlooking the courtyard DO have connecting doors, as two of those rooms are accessible. I'm not sure about the triangular layout rooms above the atrium, but I think they are not connected to another room.

The courtyard view rooms have a view of the higher fireworks, but not a full view.

Here is a photo of the view from a 3rd or 4th (can't remember for sure!) floor deluxe queen:

As you can see, it is pretty much courtyard view - no lagoon.

The rooms overlooking the beach pool will have a view similar to this (these are from a standard view):

You are so very helpful, k&a&c'smom! Your information makes me think that we would much prefer the lagoon view that you posted since seeing Wishes isn't important to us.

Thank you for telling me about the connecting doors. We always request to not have one and I wrongly assumed the Deluxe rooms did not have one.

I think I will change my request to: Lagoon view, no connecting door:confused3

Yes, I have those plans amoungst my stuff, sorry I've been resting today!

Also, DH and I stayed in the Option B, next to a Deluxe Turret by the monorail. Which Kacsmom has a view in the last two pics!
(Thank you!!!!! :worship: GREAT PICS!!!!!)
They changed these rooms into standard KINGS but they are the same as the option B, just not 2 queens.
I HAVE the pics somewhere, I need to find them and post them.
Give me a day to find and post them for you, KOOK!:)

Just wondering with the DVC contruction going on if you really wanted to look at it? Besides, the courtyard option is a much larger room. Just something to think about.

Good night to all!

JungleCruiser~love the RPC lounge pictures!
I was telling Nursie P that we need to have a GF meet one of these days! :grouphug: ::yes::

The only problem with a GF Meet with pas130, is that she changes (voluntarily and involuntarily:rolleyes1) so many times - we'd never find her:rotfl:

Yep, that construction is bound to start getting serious soon. So far, there hasn't been too much going on, from what I've read and seen. But, knowing our luck, there will be demolition work, cranes and bulldozers going on 24/7 while we're there! But, I so love that view of the lagoon and off to the right, the monorail:goodvibes

I've tried looking at some overhead images of the Main Bldg. and can't quite tell if there are any Deluxe Queens that would overlook the marina:confused3. Are the only location choices for the QD a room directly overlooking the Quiet Pool/Courtyard or a room directly overlooking the Poly/Lagoon area? Seeing Wishes and having an extra, extra large room isn't most important to us (it's just three of us) - we prefer a top floor, unobstructed lake/lagoon view without a connecting door. Is the 4th floor as high as the QD rooms go?

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend - it feels like Sunday today:upsidedow

Lulu'sMom - thanks for the info on the 2 "queen" deluxe rooms over the beach pool now having king beds! I hadn't heard; the last time I asked, they were still queen beds. I think minniesota (or, maybe misti?) had some photos of that room, but they were from years ago. It's too bad they have changed as I think some people do prefer the view, and it is nice to have another option with queens.

Thanks, too, for mentioning the DVC construction - I was thinking of that as well. It's hard to remember the normally pretty view of the Wedding Chapel is not quite as pretty lately!

WDW KOOK - there are only 6 queen deluxe rooms in the main bldg., 4 over the courtyard and 2 over the themed pool. Of course, now it sounds like there are only the 4 over the courtyard! Even tougher to book, I would think.

We usually request "no connecting door" as well, I hate hearing the neighbors!;)

k&a&c'smom, I still can't believe I was able to snag the elusive QD AND with a 40% off discount:hyper:. You're all great planning enablers and I love all the photos!

I can't find a room number/layout map like DisneyZone has for the BC/YC, so I have to ask if anyone knows where the Deluxe Queen rooms WITHOUT a connecting door (glad to see I'm not the only one who requests that;)) would be located and how many there are? Are they all on the 4th floor? Is that the highest Queen Deluxe floor? DH thinks I shouldn't try and push my luck by requesting anything other than "no connecting door."

WDWKOOK - the 6 queen deluxe rooms are located on the 3rd and 4th floors; two of those are overlooking the themed pool and Wedding Pavilion. These 2 rooms are the ones that may not have a connecting door - I don't know for sure, as it's been a while since I've seen photos.

If, indeed, those 2 rooms have been converted to standard king rooms, that leaves the 4 rectangular queen deluxe rooms over the courtyard - which definitely DO have connecting doors.

Lulu's Mom - I found the photos you posted on the previous FAQ, of a standard king room situated next to the octagonal king deluxe rooms that are near the monorail end of the floor. (4429) Is this the room you meant? If so, the queen deluxe rooms are on the other end of the floor - minniesota's room was 4422, I believe, next to the octagonal rooms over Summer Lace & Commander Porter's.

Here is the link to those photos, for anyone who would like to view - scroll to post #35:

Looking at the pics, the room we stayed in was the same as the deluxe queen , just had a KING instead. (to get one of these rooms is a "fluke" as it's a standard king, go figure.)
They still have the two deluxe queens with the lagoon/Poly view by the turret suites that overlook the courtyard/lagoon.
These do NOT have connecting doors.
But you do get the idea of a larger balcony and the view!
It is a angled room and not as large as the other option though.

As for the wide deluxe queens , many do book these rooms and connect them as they are better than booking a 1 bedrm suite. Make sense?

Thank you kacsmom!

Yes, this is correct ::yes::~and I wish we could find her pics or she was around so she could post them!

Holy cow, gals and guys!

We just arrived at the Grand and were told that we've been upgraded to main building concierge! Our first time ever! We are so excited and can't wait to find out where our room is - more later ... Hurray!
