My wife and I will be visiting WDW in December. We are staying at SSR and won't be checking in until around 11:00pm. Now that all of the night clubs have been shut down, is anything open in Downtown Disney or Pleasure Island that late at night? Is there any entertainment at all? I would like to go have a drink before going to bed but fear nothing is open anymore. :confused3

There are a few kiosk/counter service type locations at DTD where you can still get a drink. Not sure about actual clubs though...
We enjoy the margarita's down near the boat dock on the waterfront between team mickey and the kitchen store (dont recall the name). Our favorite place for nightcap is Jellyrolls at the Boardwalk but it is a bit out of the way from SSR.

BostonDisneyKid-You mentioned getting margaritas down near the boat dock. Is this located at SSR or Downtown Disney? Does anyone know how late Downtown Disney stays open now that the nightclubs have been closed? It would be nice to have somewhere indoors to get a drink during a December night.

When we came out of Cirque Soleil a few weeks ago there was some stuff going on at House of Blues, etc. I guess it is hit or miss. That was a Saturday night.

I thought most place over by the west side DTD open till 1:00am. Please correct me if I am wrong.

The margarita bar is down the dock from Capt. Jacks at DTD. Not sure of their hours. Enjoyed a few while DW and kids shopped last Christmas.

As someone else mentioned, the HOB at DTD is still there. I believe they are open until 1:00AM.

Raglan Road(the Irish pub/restaurant) I think is open late.

Their late night business has got down since the clubs closed. I wonder if Raglun Road won't start closing sooner if late night guests disappear?

I think one of our fellow DVC'ers got married at WDW right at the end of Sept and they were planning on hitting RR for the Irish music after the "fuddy duddies" called it a night. She hasn't gotten that far on her TR, but that was their initial plans.

If you take the boat or bus from Downtown Dis to Port Orleans Riverside the River Roost Lounge in pretty cool and most Tues. - Saturday evenings YeHaa Bob performs :thumbsup2 until midnight, here's a link to his site, he posts schedule usually week before upcoming month.

Also, I think the lounge at POFQ is still open most nights & even may have entertainment on some nights as well ( couple years ago saw an awesome jazz/blues musician here ).

I wonder what the overall impact of PI people not being at DTD before and after going to PI will be. On the rumors board, there were people chiming in, especially locals, who said that they would go eat and hang out before the clubs opened. Now, they have 0 interest in being anywhere near DTD. Since a lot of the restaurants are not DDP (I think) down there and rely upon cash guests, they can't be pleased with the reduced foot traffic.

Of course, we will never hear the truth from WDW either way, but it would be interesting to see.

jblrn2b Does anyone know what the plan for PI is?

I dont believe they have announced specifics but disney corp has been quoted as saying ""Right now we believe we've got a shortage of dining capacity and shopping capacity, so we'll be adding to those areas, and we'll be looking at some specialized entertainment options also," said Downtown Disney Vice President Kevin Lansberry."

We love to go to HOB and grab drinks (just about every night) to be honest. I don't know what time it closes in December, but maybe you could check their website. Sometimes though when they have live entertainment, if it is a more popular band or artist, the cover can be a little pricy so that would be something to check out in advance. Also, the kiosk was open past 12am in May when we were there (but PI was still kickin' too.) They had what I like to call "Hidden Whiskeys" because I bought two and swore the bartender forgot the whiskey until I stood up from the park bench only to realize I was quite tipsy. I also love POFQ indoor bar, but if I recall correctly it closes around 12pm or shortly after. Good luck finding some place to enjoy your drinks. We drive so we buy lots of beer, wine and liquor to mix drinks aside from buying drafts and specialties in the parks and while dining which helps us curb some of the costs as well.
