Tinkerrn, I would absolutely not hesitate to go with a garden view room at the GF. They are just as lovely as the lagoon view rooms. You will not end up with something overlooking a parking lot or service road. When they say garden, they do mean garden.

There are a couple of things that you might want to consider requesting. The first is a corner room. These rooms are slightly larger than a standard and give you 2 balconies. SagoCay marina view rooms are the same as garden, so you might want to request this. If you're on your honeymoon, then SagoCay is especially nice because it's quiet. The only real foot traffic in this area is from the guests who are staying in this particular building. It's convenient to the bus transportation, main building, Gasparillas Grill (24 hour counter service) and about a 2-3 minute walk to the pool.

Definitely mention when you check in that you're on your honeymoon and are looking for something quiet and romantic. The check in CM can take a look through the available rooms and hopefully find one that suits you.

Thank You very much!!!!! I think we will get GV and request SagoCay! The corner rooms sound amazing!!!! Wow, 2 balconies!!!! Thank you again!!!

Tammi,
We are traveling with 2 babies ~ should we request a corner room for the extra space? So far we have requested LV in Boca Chica w/ castle view....

Traci, it's not a signifant difference in size, but you do get a couple of extra square feet. Perhaps enough to slide in the 2nd pack & play. You have a few requests already though, so you might need to decide which is more important. Usually you want to list them by priority, so is the building location, the MK view or the corner room your biggest concern? Unless you have a very specific reason for requesting Boca Chica, I'd drop that off. That way, the room assignor has more buildings to look at in order to find you a corner room. You've already paid for the lagoon view, so no need to list that again. Instead, I would have it written in as a request for a corner room, castle view or castle view, corner room (whichever is ultimately the most important to you). Go ahead and ask at check in also. The CM will know what the available rooms are and give you your options.

Thank you Tammi :flower:

I would give up 2 extra feet of space for a castle view anyday :flower:

Does anyone know the code class for Main Building Concierge (non deluxe). Is S2Q the correct code for this?

TIA,

Lori

Anybody? :confused3

Hi Lori,

Yes the S2Q code is for the main building concierge. Here you go:

S2q: concierge accommodations with garden - pool - marina or lagoon view. bedding can be 2 queens - 2 queens and a day
bed - or 1 king **king rooms cannot connect** royal palm concierge service

Thanks Tammi!

I was reading somewhere that said it only sleeps four. It must be the rooms without a day bed.

I hope you had a great 4th.

Lori

No problem Lori. The standard concierge rooms definitely sleep up to 5 and if you have that many guests on your reservation, then you should get the 2 queen beds & the daybed room setup.

Thanks, we had a great 4th. We did some Whale Watching out of Boston Harbor in the morning and then went to a roof top party overlooking the Hatch Shell. We got to listen to the Boston Pops play and saw some great fireworks.

Will be staying at the Grand for the end of our honeymoon. Haven't decided on staying at the Garden view or Lagoon view. I would love to see some pictures of the garden view, especially the view from your balcony. Thanks!!!

We got married last year at Disney Dec 16th. I was wondering if Gf would make a small wedding/anniversary cake?

Congrats on your upcoming anniversary! Yes, the GF definitely will make you a small wedding cake. Here is a link to a thread that discusses cakes, etc.
GF Specialty Desserts

GF slipper and mini wedding cake Just scroll down to post 39 to see the pictures.

You'll need to call the GF Bakery and arrange it at 407-824-2978. They can deliver it to a GF restaurant for dessert or to your room at the GF. I'm sure some of the other GF Vets will chime in with some more info and advice.

Does anyone have any information on the hair salon - Ivy Trellis at GF? I need to have my hair just washed and blow dried when I there in December. Just wondered if anyone had the prices for services and also the phone number.
Thanks :flower:

Does anyone know what this code means on my GF reservation form?

Under check in time it says
"RRV"

Tyler, does the GF still share a bus with the WL? Who gets picked up first for the parks? I was hoping to use it as a way to get to the WL, but it may not work.

Thanks,
Lori

:earboy2: Gosh. Looking at all the pictures of goodies at GF has made me wish I was going sooner.

I have the honeymoon suite set up for our anniversary. Tammy I have e-mailed IPO staff and requested a Turret HM suite. Now, I have to call and arrange for a cake or some goodies delivered.

What great ideas. :cheer2: Thank you

Hello, I am planning my family's next trip to Disney and our first to the Grand Floridian. My daughter (6) is begging to return to the Polynesian concierge because of our perfect castle view, but I want to try the GF. (my husband will go along with anything).
So, after reading all of the pages here, plus info. on other sites, I am conflicted about what building to request to get the best chance of an unobstructed castle view. I have booked a Lagoon View. I thought that I should request Boca Chica, but also now have read other buildings (the names of them escape me as I am writing this post--Sago Cay maybe) :confused3.

Part B of the question is that my parents are traveling with us and have requested a garden view. They will request whatever building we do, so that they are in close proximity. So, what type of view will they expect from the garden side of the best lagoon view building (part A). (does that make sense?)
Ok, one more thing if I may. I have seen the maps that are linked on this site that show the layout of the buildings within the resort, but what direction on that map exactly is the castle?
Thank you so much for your help. I am amazed at the information on this thread!
Danielle

Hi everyone,

We have a room booked in the Royal Palm Club in December. For now there is only 2 adults and 2 children going. However, 2 more adults may join us. I know there are day beds in some of the concierge rooms in the main building but maybe not all. Can you please tell me for sure about this? We are just booked for a standard room, no suites. I am trying to decide if I should tell them now the extra two are going to gaurantee one of those rooms even though they may not end up going. I would hate for all of the rooms to be gone with day beds a week before when I get the final answer from the extra two people.

Thanks
