The couch is kind of a red-rose and gold fabric - it's rich looking in person. The rugs throughout the resort are just gorgeous! I looked in all of the buildling lobbys and they are so rich in color and design. The stair case in the main building is stunning - deep greens, golds, burgundy and blues. Lots of hidden Mickeys and I loved the other hidden characters as well.

By the way, my husband (who is 6'3") loved the blue chair and ottoman. He read 4 books during the week and several of them were read in that chair!

I, on the other hand, logged lots of time on these chairs (with a glass of wine, of course!):

Those chairs on the balcony are new, too. I know....I have logged lots of time out there, too!! Was that #4409, by chance??? I think I've been on that balcony?:rotfl: :rotfl: Thanks again for all the great pics!!! I think the rugs are pretty, too. Very vibrant and I love those hidden characters!! So neat.

Neversaynever!!!
I hope you can get an answer about posting your pics!! I am still looking forward to seeing them.:)

Denise, I have been thinking of you and Rees. :grouphug: Hope things have improved.

KRBQ - those before & afters are so great to see!!!! Before the Grand, we only always stayed in the CR tower. It was our favorite. We've seen that view a lot!!! I remember when the GF was being built. It's funny because for years we'd monorail over to shop and dine, and I always thought it was so "vanilla". Wasted years......

Hope this helps! Our favorite evening offerings were on Tuesday (Potstickers, Thai Spring Rolls, etc,) I know people say you can't make a meal out of concierge offerings but there were at least two nights that I really did not need anything else. We ate all of our breakfasts in the lounge with the exception of our last morning when we ate at the GF Cafe.
Rarely had midday offerings but often had scones! I think we had desserts and cordials 2 or 3 nights.

Yes, we had 4409 and 4408 - connecting rooms. Loved the location!

The balcony furniture is much more comfortable. We used to bring out the Teacup or big yellow pillows because those chair backs were killers! The furniture was another clue to the Sago mystery - that building still has the old style chairs. I also noticed that the main floor suite in Conch has the old patio furniture. And they were working at Conch on the dormer rooms. I think they are holding off on refurbing the suites - I heard January.

I was also told that SL guests were being moved to either RPC or a suite.

Great Pictures!!!

What were the hours for the RPC offerings?

Coffee was available at 6:30; breakfast offerings were 7-10:30 a.m.; "lunch" items (really more like refreshments) were available 11:30-2; afternoon tea, 2:30 - 4; "twilight refreshers", 5 - 7 p.m. and coridals and desserts, 8 - 10 p.m.

My goodness, that sure is a lot of food. I highly doubt anyone booking at this level would need the dining plan. Wonder if my husband would fall for it? :)

What is that you say!?! Some pixie dust maybe coming my way!?! One can only dream!!!!!:rolleyes1 Is this from a reliable source?

By the way-LOVE the pictures!:goodvibes

Minniesota.. thanks for the tip on how your posted... but even more thanxs for all the awesome pictures. Soon I will get back to trying to get my pictures to appear... but the pale in comparison...

I really wnat to post the picture of our room... decorated pretty much the same but the one glaring (well to me) omission is that the walls were bare.. no wall paper. Wanted everyones thoughts on that. So hopefully tomorrow at work I will give it another try.

Now to more pressing business... We did we got plane tickets so it loks liek we are heading back for a very short 3night stay at GF in mid December... Somehow, I really do think if I stayed at Poly I would be pining away looking at GF.

So... tell me the special things I need to know about a stay at GF right before Xmas... what shoudl we not miss etc...

Oh, Channing.. did you say that there were special things you can order (treats) from private dining for the Holidays? Do tell... even better any pictures? Thanks to you we had many wonderful treats during our first visit this past Sept. Can't do as many this time,.... but I thought maybe just one.

Oh... and not so much GF related but can someone enlighten me as what to expect in terms of weather and what should I be packing?

Thanks everyone... (for turning me into a GF addict).

Best!

Does anyone have any pictures of the deluxe concierge room or can point me to a post where I can view them? Another poster was kind enough to post the floor plan for the room which was great to see. However, I haven't been able to find any actual pictures of the room itself. As always, thanks for your help.

If not, I will be staying in one next week and will take photos for you. :thumbsup2 I didn't see the floor plan, is it in this thread?

Kona. . . pictures would be greatly appreciated. Have a great time. I'm currently torn because I have a standard room in RPC. I booked that because of the chance of getting a castle view. Now my wife tells me that she'd rather have a little more space in the room as opposed to a castle view. I'm just curious as to how much space there is. As for the layout, check out page 487 of this thread. Tammi was nice enough to post the floor plan. Enjoy your trip!
