I having been lurking on this thread for the past 6 months and gained lots of info but I have a few queries I hope you can help with.

We are travelling from Scotland on 6 Oct and staying at the GF for 2 weeks
and I am trying to pack light :rotfl:

What toiletries are in the bathrooms (I've heard foot lotion and body butter mentioned)

What material are the robes made of? Are they too heavy in the heat?

Is the hairdryder provided any good for thick shoulder length hair? (Our electricals work off a different voltage in the UK so no point bringing them)

Thanks for all the help so far.

Hi, Scotland!! Wow - that is cool!:thumbsup2 I'd love to visit Scotland one day. And at the GF for 2 weeks ....lucky you!!

As for the hair driers, the current models are all being replaced, so not sure about what you'll wind up with when you are there in October. The current models are OK, but just OK & they do the job...take a while longer than mine at home. Maybe they're putting something nicer in.

The toiletries are shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, bath soap, facial soap, body butter/lotion, mint foot lotion (really nice;) ) and......maybe I am forgetting something - but everything is taken care of - oh, also cotton balls and Q tips.....They restock you every day and at turndown in the eves, too. You should be fine with what they give - if not just call housekeeping and they will run you up more of whatever you need.

The robes....I find them to be fine. They are just cotton and not overly heavy IMO. I love having them. It's a nice convenience at the Grand.

Happy planning,

Lives4Disney :)

That was nice of them to call you with the cab info. Have a wonderful trip.

Have a great time, Kelly and Lyn.

BTW cabs are always free to the golf courses from the deluxe resorts anyway. The resort will give you a voucher and the pro shop does the same for the return trip.

I posted this on the Family website but I thought I would ask here. We are staying at GF and one night doing an adult night at Narcossees. My dd6 will be going to a kids club. She is very excited because she play in Neverland Club at poly one afternoon before she was old enough to stay there. Since we are staying at GF, obviously the Mousketeer Club would be easy but since my dd remembered the Neverland Club and loves Peter Pan, I thought she might prefer there.

Has anyone done one or both? Any thoughts on this?

My son absolutely loved the Neverland Club and requested to go there until he was too old to go anymore. They always fed him dinner buffet style and characters often came to visit. We always felt safe with him being there.

I am sorry but I can't not offer any review of the Mousketeer Club because he never used that.

I have never used either, but I have seen the inside of the Mouseketeer Club and it sure looks SMALL. This is where they have the cooking "class" that my girls both really love going to, but it just looks very small for anybody staying in there more than an hour or so.... I think I'd be climbing the walls. Not sure if the size is comparable to the Neverland Club. I have only heard good about the NC, but nothing memorable about the Mouseketeer Club.

Hi all, the wife and I just tacked on 3 nights @ the GF in Jan. We got a great AAA rate on a garden view room. Does anyone have a picture of two of this room category?

I can only assume it's a fine room, after all it's the GF.

Here some pics from our recent trip

I never knew there was a balcony off the third floor that faces the monorail

Hi from the GF. It is raining right now so we are taking a break. It is very hot today so the rain was welcome.

We did not get our room request for an octagonal room. We got room 4209 it has a very large balcony and a jacuzzi tub with a King Bed. Nothing close to the room we had in June "4021" so I was briefly dissapointed.

Everything is great here at the Grand all the employees are super nice and go out of there way to help you. We had to call because we couldn't get the room door to open last night and someone was here within 2 minutes. We had problems with the bathroom today and maintenance came within 10 mins. You can't ask for anything more than that.

It's not too bad at the MK either it was only 20 min. waiting for Splash and Big Thunder today. Restaurants were taking walk ups.

Talk to you soon.

Lyn

P.S. We really miss the mini bar.

Someone please tell me that the renovated rooms look better in real life than they do in the pictures I have seen on various threads.::scared: We have Sugarloaf booked for December and it seems that it will be rehabed before we get there. The more I see of the rooms the more nervous I am getting and thinking of changing resorts while I still can. Tell me it will be ok and I won't be disappointed.:goodvibes

Umm.....don't know that I can tell you that. ;) I am not crazy about them either. I really liked the old decor so much better. The new does NOTHING for me. Disclaimer;) ....I haven't seen them in person, but from the pics, they look hideous to me. I will be there in NOv.....as much as I would like the new TV and IPOD radio, the colors and new furniture turn me off.

Mr Mike - great pics!

Lyn - Thanks for posting! Enjoy yourself. :goodvibes Sorry you didn't get the octagonal room again. How about watching Wishes from your balcony there on the 2nd floor? Is there anything good about being in the honeymoon floor?? I always thought it would be a bit of a hassle to get to. Is the room you have a "new" room"? Hope you meet Vonnie tomorrow. She is great & she'll help you with any issues you may have - Hopefully none, lol. Too bad about those you already had. At least service was quick and painless.

Enjoy!

I have to say that looking at the pics the rooms does look boring... Being at the room is different. Not once did we think the room was ugly but then the decor didnt stand out either.

We haven't been in the new rooms yet, but they look a bit boring to me. I loved the cheerful blue and yellow Alice rooms, but the mostly beige interior of the refurbed rooms looks pretty dull. The GF will always be beautiful to me, but the new decor is a little disappointiing - I hope it looks better in person when we're there in November...

Quick question to add - am I understanding correctly that the minibars are being removed from all rooms? We don't really use it, but I'm curious.
