Cinderumbrella - Hi! You are in for a real treat! Everything was beautiful and every CM we encountered was so friendly. Of course, we are very friendly and that seems to make people all the more friendly toward us. ;)
We really loved our room. I did not take any photos of our bathroom b/c it just seemed redundant, although the shower curtain was new and the rounded our curtain rod was new to us as well... But everything looked great! Having the big closet was DIVINE.
We had a leisurely trip and enjoyed wonderful dinners at Jiko, Citrico's and Narcoossee's (our first time ever there, after all these stays at the GF).
We spent a couple of hours one day at AK; a couple hours at MGM; many, many hours at the MK :wizard: , including the Pirate & Princess Party on the 11th. We had a great spot for the parade and it was terrific! We didn't make it to Epcot or Blizzard Beach. There's always next time...
We were very happy to enjoy the resort, which we did in abundance  We rented a Sea Raycer and had our very first Magical Moment. When we ret'd from our boat ride, I went back to retrieve my room key from the marina office and the CM told us the boat ride was complimentary! She gave us a Magical Moments certificate:wizard: It was very touching... a great way to start our day!
We rented a cabana and it was pretty great! Loved having all that space, cold drinks, ice, fruit and I let my daughter watch the Suite Life of Z&C on the cabana tv:rolleyes1
My daughter had her hair done at Ivy Trellis one afternoon before dinner and it was so fun for her - she got quite a 'do :bride: We had tea in the Garden View Lounge twice and thoroughly enjoyed that, as always.
We did a Monorail Shopping Tour on our last afternoon. The new shop at the Contemporary looks great!
I will write more later:surfweb:

DisneyNotes - I'm sorry. I didn't take any pics of the lounge or hallways. I had ltd. memory on my card...

Okay - I'm back! My reservation (according to the Disney website) is now listed as: Deluxe Room King-Club Level (BP) at my original rate. I'm assuming that means we've been upgraded?

Now, can anyone tell me what Deluxe Room King-Club Level (BP) means? I get that it's probably a King sized bed, but don't know what the rest means.

Thank you so much for helping this GF newbie!

No problem. I'll look forward to the surprise of the "new" lounge when I arrive in a few weeks. Thanks for posting the room photos and your view was incredible.

Congratulations! That is an excellent upgrade. What an anniversary gift. Club level means you'll have access to the lounge for snacks, drinks, etc. You may also call the IPO and have them plan anything in advance that you would like. Tell the IPO it's your anniversary. Tell them you would like balloons and a card in your room on arrival. (complimentary)

WOW! That's quite an upgrade - I'm really surprised about that level of Disney Magic. That wouldn't be a bit . . . forward(?) to call IPO and request the balloons and card? I'd hate for them to think I was feeling entitlement for something I did not pay for.

Wow, good for you Twingle. I guess you have been upgraded! I think that these rooms are the Honeymoon rooms, but someone else can tell you for sure.

johnsonet, thanks for the great pictures; it looks like you had a great stay. Now I just have to figure out how to get out of the Poly and into one of those RPC honeymoon turret rooms for me and BFs December 2008 vacation...

 OH MY GOSH. I'm practically in (happy) tears here. Staying at the GF is a dream come true for me, and having these things happen before we even get to Florida is amazing. I felt so lucky just to be staying at the GF, and now knowing that the chances we have been upgraded to anything more is incredible, but a Honeymoon room would just be . . . I have no words. Truly unbelievable would cover it.

If it makes you more comfortable, you can mention it at check-in.

I had a hard time deciding between Poly, GF and YC for our 2008 trips.

Finally (I hope) figured it out. We're booked at the Polynesian January 10-15 for DH to run the marathon and I'm booking today our July 2008 trip. We'll be at GF July 21-31 and YC July 31-August 5. This is later than our usual trips but since they moved the seasons around I think we'll definitely do value season for the long summer trip!

If it is already noted on your reservation that you are celebrating your anniversary - I would leave it at that. :wizard:

Great recap, johnsonet - sounds like a fabulous trip! Thanks also for posting all of your pics - they have me looking forward to Nov/Dec! :cloud9:

That is an amazing upgrade - good for you, and the magic of Disney Pixie Dust!

Even better for you - if you'll look at all the rooms pics that johnsonet has just posted - that is one of the Deluxe Honeymoon Rooms! There are two layouts for this category - one style is akin to a standard room, but has a jacuzzi bathtub, is on a super-quiet hallways on the 2nd floor of the main blgd., and they all have views of Cinderella Castle. The other layout is the honeymoon turret room, which is what johnsonet and her daughter stayed in recently. These are octagonal rooms with windows all around, although they do not have balconies, and only 3 of the 6 available would have a view of the Castle.

Pretty outstanding, huh? Can't wait to hear about your trip! :goodvibes

Is there a passed out smilie? If that is indeed what my upgrade is, I will just amazed. Why? Because I think it's amazing, that's why. Really shocked and speechless here.

Like I mentioned previously, my DH and I were so excited just to be staying at the GF in the first place, it's really a dream come true for us, and something we doubt we'll ever be able to do again. Knowing that we are staying there is special and magical in the first place, but having knowledge of what could possibly be awaiting us is just unreal.

Thank you everyone for sharing your information with me. I'll definately let you know about our trip - you are all so nice to GF newbies, after having so many visits under your collective belts!

hi, can anyone tell me what the view is of the other deluxe rpc rooms (not the honeymoon deluxe with the windows and the king bed) can you see the poly, beach pool, etc. or is it a view of the quite pool area? thanks

Here you go: :faint:

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

You have every right to be excited!! You will have an amazing trip!

Definitely contact the IPO office, being as it's a free upgrade, they might not get your info. in time. Just get yourself on their radar screen, and let them know it's your anniverary trip - just casually mention it. They can help you with any last-minute preparations, etc.

I'm excited to hear about your trip - I stayed at the GF with my mom for a girl's b-day trip in '05, and was hooked! DH and I are booked into one of those honeymoom rooms in Nov./Dec. - it will be his 1st time at the resort, and a belated 30th b-day trip for me, so we are splurging. You will love the GF, I'm sure. We're DVC, too, but still enjoy staying the regular Disney resorts, too. (And we have to, since we keep running out of points! ;) )

Johnsonet- BEAUTIFUL pictures!! :thumbsup2 Thanks for sharing!:) Your stay sounds fabulous. I was trying to convince myself to just sit and stay on the GV ressie, but then you go and post this stuff!!!!!!!! UGH!!! I just checked and RPC is available for my Nov 10 nt stay, but I absolutely know DH would not be thrilled about the change in cost this time. :rotfl: So....I know you didn't take lounge pics, but what is the "new" lounge area like??? Any comments??

Twingle OMG!!!:wizard: I'd say you received some major magic! That room Johnsonet just posted pics of could be yours!!!!:goodvibes The deluxe king rooms are these turret rooms or 2nd floor honeymoon rooms with castle (Wishes from your balcony) views!!!! You will LOVE RPC. The concierge CMs are awesome and super helpful and friendly. The lounge ladies - the same. Enjoy! I can't wait to hear about it when you get back. (I need to go back and check and see if your trip is coming up soon - I forgot when you go!)

Happy planning,

Lives4Disney :)
