Cinderumbrella....OMG...the dreaded stomach bug from Narcoosees??? How awful! You probably saw I am trying that place for the first time in Nov.:rotfl: Bad news! I'd never eat there again, either....DH got food poisoning from Nesquick he bought at the MS Bakery late one nt.....we've never stepped into that place since.:rolleyes1 It took me a while to go back to Rose and Crown after a kid next to us tossed her cookies all over the ground and they came with the school disinfectant stuff and sawdust to scoop it up with. ICK. The kicker was the family stayed!!! They couldn't miss Illuminations.:sad2: Just put the sick kid on mom's lap and ordered more beer.:rotfl: That totally grossed me out and I was sooo worried for almost the rest of my trip that my girls would catch the stomach bug sitting almost right next to that sick girl.

I LOVE the No Way Jose sunday!! Also, a few trips ago we had that choc wave at Coral Reef. Yum & pretty.

I enjoy those scones and apricot marmalade too!! Now I am seeing very clearly why I gain about 5 lbs every Disney trip.:rotfl2:

Getting sick on my honeymoon was awful!!!!!!! DH and I had food poisoning just last week and it brought back horrible memories of my Narcoose's night :sad2: But that was 10 years ago- so go enjoy your meal!!!!:thumbsup2

Thanks Lives4Disney!

One more question if anyone knows: My TA is being told that this is something for concierge guests only and can only be done upon arrival. Anyone know if that is true?

Thanks again,
Jennifer

Are they adding a day bed to the Deluxe Rooms in RPC? If so, would they accommodate 5 (would they change the room capacity)? That would be wonderful since there is plenty of extra space in the Deluxe Rooms. Do any of you who email Concierge think they would know the answer or could find out for us

Does anyone know any more about this. I would LOVE to be able to get one of those huge deluxe RPC rooms for my family of 5 next August!:goodvibes

Those scones in RPC were so good. They were one of my favorite "desserts" of the trip. And the cream that went with them was heavenly.

Do they serve the same scones at the Garden View Tea Lounge, does anyone know? No RPC for me this year... :(

Thanks Lives4Disney!

I was told to call WDWPLAY (it's not just for concierge guests) 90 days in advance, which I did - twice. The first time no one knew how to book it, so they transferred me directly to the GF marina phone where a very nice gentleman told me that he wrote my name in the book and I was all set - no credit card, no confirmation #. I called again just to see if I could track down someone who could confirm my booking because I was under the impression that they required a credit card but again I was transferred to the nice guy at the GF marina who (again!!!) told me that his word was enough and that I was "in the book". We're just going to hope for the best and ask at check in if they can confirm that we actually do have the cabana booked! I'm not feeling too confident, so we'll make alternate plans for that morning just in case. Anyone else have any non-concierge experience booking a cabana???

I had some lovely scones and cream at the GV Lounge last August. I hope they still offer them when I'm there next month!;)

Your TA is wrong. I have only stayed concierge, but have rented a couple times thru them.......there is a sign in front of them that says to rent me dial 1407 WDW PLAY. Don't wait til arrival or you may be out of luck. There are only 2 rentals and they seem to be going quickly. Call asap.

Disyady....I cant help, but I know the GF marina is in charge of them, so hope that makes you feel a bit better about it. We have always had ocncierge give the CC number, though. I guess when you check in you can give it.:confused3

I am a non concierge guest and have booked it for 2 days next month. I called WDWPLAY both times and had to put down a CC and received a confirm number.

Thanks - It does make me feel better. Hopefully we have it, but if we don't I'm sure we can come up with something to do for a whole morning at the greatest place on earth!

That's exactly what I thought, but after 2 long distance phone calls I couldn't get anyone at WDWPLAY who even knew what a cabana at the GF was, let alone book it! Oh well - I'm sure it will work out for the best.:wizard:
Thank you both for your replies.

My poor TA has been trying so hard to get a straight answer from someone about this -- apparently she has been getting the same run around that a lot of other people have been. I'm hoping there will still be one available. It sounds so wonderfully relaxing and indulgent -- the way life should be ;)

Thanks to everyone for their answers on this.

Jen.

Okay, here is my deal. I am a slacker of gargantuan proportions. We were upgraded to the Victorian Suite on our August 2005 anniversary trip, and we took tons of photos, but I never shared them! So I will do that now, though unfortunately they won't mean much, since the rooms are all getting refurbished. But at least you will get the general layout & an idea of what's there.

It's a lovely suite, though, with four - count 'em, four - balconies, one or two of which have castle views. I think it runs around $1400-1500/night in value season, so it's definitely not the kind of room that we could afford to stay in, but we got a great kick out of getting to stay there for the same price as a honeymoon room!

Without further ado, here are the photos:

great timing on those suite pictures. how many people do the victorian suites sleep?

Heather love the pics! I read the first line of your post and thought OMG!! SHe got upgraded for her trip (the one coming up!;) ) Thought maybe they let you have a bit of magic early since they owed ya, haha.:rotfl:

I think the Victorian Suite only sleeps 2.

Lives4Disney :)

Heather, thank you so much for sharing those beautiful photos. I now have a new dream to work towards - I want to stay in that suite so much!

Channing, I wish! How magical would that be? I think my disappointment would evaporate immediately :)

About how many it sleeps, the bed was a king bed, so that would be 2. I don't know whether the couch was pull-out or not, as I guess that would make a difference. Sorry! It really was an amazing room, though, and we felt so lucky to get to experience it. When we were there, Kirstie Alley had just checked out of the suite, the concierge staff told us, so we thought that was kind of neat that we were the very next ones in.

Cheers!

only two. wow. that is a surprise. so no kids. i was looking into this room for a 2008 stay, but w/ two kids i guess it is not an option. thanks for the lovely pictures though.

You could book the Walt or Roy suite. :thumbsup2 There is a king bed and a very pretty second bedroom with twin sleigh beds.;) We had that upgrade for my 40th bday.:wizard:

Happy planning,

Lives4Disney :)

Not 5 balconies: 4 balconies. Only four. :) How decadent! It was definitely the best free upgrade we've ever been given.

Cheers!
