For the Contemporary, where do park purchases get delivered, to your room or to the gift shop? Also, what is the general delivery time frame?

Also when you get a chance can you please ask why they got rid of the in room computers and find out how the pool renovations are going?

I talked to a CM for a few minutes this morning. He said that the computers were only a test and that although the computers were very popular with the guests that it was too expensive to maintain them. He also claimed that the pool would be done in March.

Are they sticking to the 3/15 date that is mentioned in all the rehab sites for the pool or saying they'll be done by the end of March? We are going 3/25 and were planning on using the pool quite a bit. Don't want to have to go to the Poly with the little ones. TIA!!

Thank you for that information and it must have been one long test with the computers since they installed them in August 2006, although at the time a now former Cast Member also said they were on a test run.

A while back someone posted exactly what they were doing. If memory serves it was a complete re-theming and a bunch of upgrades. do you remember CR Fan?

Yes and CR guest will be able to use the pool at the Poly and WL

Could you hear construction noise from INSIDE your room at all?

We were on the 6th floor and our room was dead center ...first one once you come off the elevator (think it was 4236). We did not hear any construciton; however, we were out of the room every day the latest by 8 am...and never returned until 10 on most nights. [/I]

How is the pool renovation coming?
Honestly didn't see anything because we were on the park view side and it was too cool for swimming so I never packed suits.

How was the bus transportation to DHS, AK, and Downtown Disney?
Bus Transportation was fine for us. Like I said before, we were on them early, the one day we were on the bus for DHS by 7:20 am and the only ones on there. We never went to DD.

Can you elaborate on the Contempo Cafe? Do you mean that there is NO option of grab and go refrigerated stuff anymore? Like, there is no fresh fruits, yogurts, and cold sandwiches you can just grab from a fridge anymore? I didn't really understand this part from your review.

Sorry....there is less stuff you can grab from the refrigerator section. I just remembering it was easier for us. Most of the time we used it as a late night snack. So the kids would go grab fruit/yougurt maybe a turkey sandwich, etc. Yes there was a yogurt/fruit but way smaller. My son (14) even commented on it. The breakfast muffins/pastries (things like that) were great. We never did breakfast...other than that and coffee. Maybe it's just me...I actually think they should have kept what they had then add the freshly made items. The amount of room now is nice, alot of seating. Soda/Coffee machine area is better. Again just our feelings based on our family's likes.

I'm heading to a MK Tower View room at the CR at the end of March (first time in the Tower). I haven't been to the CR since 2003, so this resort is practically "all new" to us at this point, with all the changes. Just want to know what to expect.

It is definitely a "Wow...I can see the castle right outside my window!" It was great. But again, we did it...and unless I got a real good deal like I grabbed this time with the "7 for 4" I'm fine with the bay side.

When it comes to the construction on the construction they are still doing I assume you mean on the 4th floor when it comes to turning the Sundries store in the Fantasia Market. Anyway how much of it has been completed or was it all blocked off from the outside?

When we were there it was completely blocked off now. My husband is in construction and smokes. So we would go down morning and night out on the deck and pass it. Chef Mickey is also under construction. Kind of tighter now where they have you taking pictures...sections blocked off.

Back in August one Cast Member told me they planned to renovate Chef Mickey's to add more tables since it's so popular, so I guess that is what they are doing right now.

Again...we love the Contemporary and my kids would probably hate it if I tried another place. My main observation (for at least our room) it already seemed worn to me. Also...I was in shock when we walked in and no computer LOL. You had to see my 3 1/2 yr old's face when he saw it was gone. I would have brought my laptop ...needed to check in for work at night and mornings. We survived...and I can see it being an overall expense with kids using it...(believe it or not my little one is better than my husband on it LOL). I am always on the boards and I guess I missed that notice. I ended up going to the business center to use the computer there...was easy enough...just more convenient in the room obviously.

Nope no computers. Yes there is hookup for your own for the fee or you can go to the business center and pay increments of minutes of usage.

From what I've read/heard, the pool renovation includes:
-Resurfacing the Pool Deck
-Adding Cabanas that guests can rent (I assume on something like an hourly/afternoon basis)
-Adding a Kids Fountain/Splash Play area similar to those at some other WDW resorts

I also read a rumor that they are going to add some vegetation & foliage (something I read even mentioned palm trees), but later on I read something that contradicted that statement, so I guess we'll have to wait & see.

Outside of CR Fan's conversation with the one Cast Member who told him (paraphrasing here) that once it was done, it was going to look better than the volcano pool at the Polynesian, I haven't heard anyone mention any "grandiose" changes. But if they do everything listed above, I'm sure the entire pool area will look vastly improved and more attractive.

Staying at the CR for the first time in May (just DH and myself) and would love to have a king if one is available.

The computers were in all the Tower and Garden Wing rooms, however since they are now gone it doesn't make a difference.
